There are three things I look for in a pedal, besides the sound it makes, and they are: size, flexibility, and simple controls. The Hall of Fame Reverb by TC Electronic has checks by all those boxes, and it sounds really good, too.

It is housed in a small rugged enclosure that is only 3.5” x 5”, which is great for saving space. It has ten different reverbs available plus a spot for a TonePrint. If you do not know what TonePrint is, it is a way to custom tune the pedal. There are plenty of TonePrints available, plus with the TonePrint Editor you can make your own versions of the different reverb types. Finally, there are only four knobs to dial in your desired sound, they are: decay, tone, fx level, and type, plus a mini-switch to go between long and short pre-delay. So simple even I can navigate those controls without too much fuss. The tone knob works very well to make adjustments that can help dial in your sound.

I thought the pedal sounded better than the Boss RV-5, and was more versatile than the Electro-Harmonix Holy Grail. The e-pedals on my iStomp did not have as many choices for reverb sounds as the Hall of Fame has preloaded. I also had a need for a gated reverb that was not available on the Holy Grail and iStomp. The TonePrint aspect of the Hall of Fame was really the deciding factor. The TonePrint Editor is fun to mess around with, but I haven’t made anything better than what I have heard from the professionals.

The Hall of Fame is not a perfect pedal, but my problems with it are pretty minor. I wish it had more slots for TonePrints, I like those sounds much better than some of the preloaded reverb types. Although it is an option, do not run this pedal on batteries. It will eat through a 9-volt in a little over an hour. This pedal is a bit of an overkill for what I use it for in my rig. It isn’t even on my pedalboard, but sits on my amp head. I thought I would be switching through the different reverb types throughout the set, but I pretty much set and forget. I adjust the settings at sound check, then leave it on until tear down. I probably should have bought the mini version of the pedal, but I think that might be too dumbed down with the one knob control.

As a pedal in a live situation, it works really well. I believe it shines a bit more as studio/recording tool. Being able to change the TonePrint as you want would be fun, and allow to create some very unique sounds. The reverb effect leaves the core of your tone alone, and adds the lushness of reverb very organically. I like the “Room” type of reverb best, but I think it captures the other types very well, too.

This is a very good pedal with a couple of minor glitches. The Strymon Big Sky may be more versatile, but for the price point the Hall of Fame is an excellent purchase. Depending on how you use it you may want to get the mini version of the pedal, but I worry that you lose too many features that make this pedal shine.

UTILIZATION

Ultra-simple setup! as rightly said Reverend in his opinion, even a guitarist will reach the set! )

The manual is clear if one has the internet for download. TCelectronic a sticker comes with the pedal, but not the manual! This should be cheaper and it's a little pub. For those who wish to free advertising for TC to thank them not providing a manual, I will gladly give in them my sticker!

A review of this site indicates that you can not store custom preset. In fact, you can make one and store it in the selection TonePrint types of reverb. It should be edited and "inject" into the pedal from the software "TonePrint Editor" (free and works on PCs or Macs, and I think tablet) which also allows very complete settings. This preset then remains permanently until there is not replaced by another. Note that we can, from a mobile phone, "inject" into the pedal, while its selector is "Toneprint" settings (more or less interesting) "prefabricated" and donated by TC electronic. Some find this gadget, others not ... Say it is used at home or in repeated, but, in my opinion, not on stage. Personal presets can not (a priori ... but check) to be "injected" into the pedal by means of telephone, why the TonePrint Editor and a computer or tablet software seem indispensable.

SOUND QUALITY

Overall, the effects seem very successful.

For my part, for reasons of taste, I use mainly 2: Hall and Church.

I do not like the reverb Mod Type: the effect of modulation added (not adjustable directly on the pedal) seems too strong for my taste - but a "Tone print" staff stored in the pedal overcomes the thing .

It is in judgments of taste.

Contrary to what I read in a review below, the tone control seemed effective, its effectiveness probably depends on many factors: microphones (and knobs, and possibly active electronic) instrument, amp , type of connection (serial or parallel), pedal position in the chain of effects and internal selection pedal "true bye-pass" or not, etc ...

This is, in my opinion, a clean reverb! precisely controllable and adjustable. Its range of possibilities must meet the needs of most musicians who do not want to € 400 in a pedal probably better - but not much more. In any case, I think the Hall of Fame does not have to blush before its more expensive sisters!

Used on 3 different amps: Laney Cub 12R, Egnater Rebel 112 and Combo Hughes & Kettner Tubemeister 18 combo, either in series or in parallel, I was very satisfied with this Hall of Fame ...

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for more than a month and I quite "peeled" from every angle.

I have not tried other models''. I relied on the satisfaction that I have a TC electronic M-One XL that my sound team.

The +:
- Easy!
- Quality and purity of sound!
- Price / quality ratio
- Low profile in a pedal
- Opportunity with a switch inside the pedal to select or deselect the "bypass" mode and "kill dry"
- Pre-delay selector (called so prosaic, pre-delay allows the reverb to snap a little after the emission of sound that keeps the note attack and clarifies the game )
- For lovers of studio: Stereo
- Seems to behave on different amps as well as a long chain of pedals that I imposed.

The -:
- No power supply
- No printed manual (technicality rather referred here to the principle, even a guitarist will come out without a manual for the principle yes-because TC electronic does not provide, for example, manual with his Nova!! Modulator in my opinion unusable as-is)

The value for money? Excellent in my opinion.

A pedal that is not destructive and very excellent from this viewpoint. If I did not have a reverb pedal, this is the one I would buy!

UTILIZATION

super simple, you select the reverb that you want with the rotary knob and is refined with the rest of the settings ie "decay", "tone" and volume effect "fx level."
We can therefore position with TonePrint, download additional preset with the supplied USB socket or a smartphone app. This works very well and keeps the best preset in the Favorites app, it's great! (You can see the demo on the site, just remember to update the pedal downloading firmeware for this to work)

SOUND QUALITY

The effects are the tops! I use it mainly with a live electroacoustic sound, I plug in stereo and there is huge!
It's true that I prefer the "spring" of my tube amp, but other reverb are superb.

OVERALL OPINION

I have not tried tons of reverb pedals, but I know when it rings and then I'm happy.
This quality effect pedal in a format and 120 €, really should not go without ...

UTILIZATION

Use SUPER simple and effective. Three knobs: decay, level (the original signal from the guitar is kept, it is not a blend!) And tone. A short but resonant reverb to add something to her? Too easy: decay fairly low level and tone to 14h in the middle of a long reverb (plate, hall or church).
All presets are good and they are among ... 11! Room, Hall, Spring, Plate, Church, Mod, Lo-Fi, Tile, Ambient, and Toneprint Gate.

SOUND QUALITY

I find the preset spring not really successful and not natural ... Same for the tile and lofi ...
The best for me are hall, ambient, church but the others are very usable. You can really do any mood with my stuff.
The preset gate is ... weird, I do not really see how we can use it, strange.
The reverb is really great to give a "trick" the sound when playing alone or even in groups, against it have to watch out assay the effect if we do not want to "lose" his own sound in the mix!

OVERALL OPINION

After a big month I do not find many drawbacks and is perfect on a really small pedalboard already congested and can not sublimate her that there is enormous transformation.
For the price it's really good. To couple with a stereo delay and for even more fun, guaranteed results!

Ultra easy to use. We choose a style of reverb and adjusted "by ear" ... It can not be simpler and creative ...

The downside, of course, is that nothing can save. Must be set by hand => for manic ... write down your settings on a sheet!

Haaa yes! 2 small defects on the Hall of Fame and the Delay. The red LED is too bright ... so that in a dark atmosphere (local snooze and concerts) it is "dazzled" by the LED and you can not read the selection knob reverb. Damage.

Second flaw ... type of buttons (admittedly pretty good) you can only manually adjust => Should we let go of the handle (the guitar: o) ... For example, in MXR, the buttons are octagonal and are provided with a sort of rubber sleeve that can turn the knob at the base ...

On a reverb, it might be interesting to gradually move from short to long reverb for example finishing a piece ... impossible, so ...

SOUND QUALITY

So there! I am amazed! 10 types of reverb that really make a difference ... There really means to give very different atmosphere from space ... between the cathedral, or the reflection metal or spring ... there really a difference ... and it's very fun to try ... More "Tone" does not change the tone of your guitar (More or less treble) but the frequencies of the reverb sound ... ON is a sound more "low" or "highest" which reverberates ... Very creative ... I love it.

I play with an acoustic guitar ... and honestly, it's much more enjoyable as reverb that everything I've heard included in the amps ...

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for one month ... I needed a reverb to replace the rotting of my amp Ibanez Troubadour (I'm also going to change soon) ... Having bought a TC Electronic Delay in that I liked ... I purchased the Hall Of Fame as the price and quality seemed unbeatable.

And what a joy to discover that a ten reverb that can "color" the sound environment, change a bit how it sounds ...

THE simplicity and robustness are really a plus for me ... I thought this would set a reverb time of any adjustment, but I catch myself tinkering with different reverb to build the mood ...

By the way ... Here I test it a snooze in a tiny room ... When going to play left to right ... I can choose "by ear" the reverb that goes best in a given place ... We shoot 2, 3 buttons and basta ... Forget this "reactive" with a digital pedal ultra powerful and complete ... J'connais musicos who will say no ... Wait guys, I'll reconfigure my sound bank to adapt to the room ... And yet you go play in a nightclub shielded, or a house for young concrete not painted! the sound will be completely different ...

So I put this pedal in excellent ... who does what she should do, which has a stunning and its not a fart breath ...

We are dealing here with a reverb pedal very complete with lots of different reverbs, I invite you to read the manual for the beast that explains it all well.

It has the 4 knobs that are the usual level, the tone, decay, and the choice of reverb on which we will have to spend time considering the number of delay that is not counting the tone print.

For original elements, we find the mini switch to select the delay time, easy access to the battery as might already be on the PolyTune the same brand and two dipswitches that allow a kill and either dry or not a true bypass is a buffered bypass.

UTILIZATION

Usage is very simple and it is very intuitive. All knobs react well, we can find a good and it's very easy to test full-tone print and change.

SOUND QUALITY

The sound magnifies any amp. I personally preferred the ambient reverb for its sound quality and discreet side goes everywhere but essential, but all other delay can be exploited to give free rein to your imagination.
I have not loved by not against the reverb srping but at the same time I never liked the reverbs spring, whatever the quality thing.

The tone print artists are really great, I, for once, choose a print called dark ambient tone that gives more depth to her discreetly with a less bright tone than ambient.

OVERALL OPINION

Ultimately, tc electronic off a major coup with this pedal as with its full range tone print. Find sounds racks tc pedal format at an affordable price with all options I say yes.

Far ahead of the boss and other mxr, this choice I would do without hesitation.

We have a dozen types of reverb in a pedal sound, ideal for small pedalboard as supplied 9V. Different reverbs are selectable via a manual selector, 3 other pots will adjust the volume, color (tone) and the length of the reverb. A small switch used to adjust the pre-delay: either short and the reverb begins when the attack of the note or chord, or long and the reverb is triggered after the attack of the note or agreement. True bypass switch. May be missing a switch to a setting in memory, history to have two sounds accessible on foot (we would like to be so!)

UTILIZATION

With a little research at the settings, there is a priori of all reverbs useful for guitarists, bassists and other instruments surely. The tone-print provides access to reverb and more "signature" downloadable from TC Electronic. To date, the reverb tone-print available I was not blown away. That said, those plants are already very beautiful.

SOUND QUALITY

I have long hesitated between this pedal and a rack spring reverb amps van. The lower cost of TC has won and I'm not disappointed at all in the end. Finally we get closer, compared to other digital reverbs from the warmth of a true mechanical or reverb tube, with even less buzz.
Spring and hall reverbs have my preferences. Tile is very nice also (fairly short reverb dirty, good for blues, rock, punk. The other reverbs all have a little something to inspire a mood, a song, all I wondered what!

OVERALL OPINION

TC Electronic comes on strong with these cost-tone print. The value for money is exceptional. Flashback strongly in my pedalboard!
