I had heard good and beautiful things on the achievements of Monitor Audio. And I was really looking forward to test them. But today's test was rather disappointing.

Now, is that the combined amp + source were not his cup of tea? One thing is certain, the GX200 Monitor has quickly pulled together the bottom. Dynamic medium, few micro-detail with a tendency to iron grades, side air nonexistent, width of the soundstage frankly average. Its a fairly flat throughout that I was not at all packed. Only good thing, the sharp, natural and downright sweet, never aggressive. But, as I noticed, not as aggressive when it should be. Suggesting an adjustment too "nice" of its designers. In view of 2900 and requested a few dollars, it's clearly too much for an enclosure barely better than a good entry level. However the finish was good and the quality seemed to be at the rendezvous. Monitor the audio to cut out and should review their copy quickly before others realize that they serve us hay.
