Duesenberg Starplayer TV Mike Campbell

It is a German guitar, semi-hollow, Les Paul shape. The handle is D-shaped and the key is 22 frets rosewood. It is equipped with a bigsby.
The neck pickup is a P90 and a humbucker bridge pickup. There is a three position switch, and it seems, wiring the middle position is made so as to give a bit of a micro sound simple. The classic volume and tone, both practical and effective.

UTILIZATION

The handle is quite thick, but very enjoyable, so I'm used to playing a Telecaster and a Yamaha Pacifica sleeves much finer. I was surprised! It was perfectly set, thank you shop!
The guitar is not too heavy, ergonomics is good.
Access to acute is easy but significantly better than on my Telecaster.
Holding the tuning is impeccable. I have not noticed that the use of the Bigsby désaccordait strings, but I do not use it much.
I think access to potentiometers and selector is not ideal. It may be a matter of habit, but they do "not fall under my hand" when I seek. In addition, the knobs do not oppose much resistance and it is easy to change the volume by touching the button without meaning to, so we just wanted to change the microphone. It's not dramatic, but it is a small detail that takes away 10/10.

SOUNDS

This is where it gets interesting. I am interested in this guitar for its distinctive look (like everyone else, I suppose), but it is its bluesy and beautiful sound it produces that made me love.
The sound is beautiful, and the few opportunities cover most needs.
Sounds clear the neck pickup is very hot, with a beautiful presence. It feels very much the contribution of the semi-hollow box. It is not stifled. This is not a clean lens, not at all. It almost sounds like the guitar itself a little crunch. This is my favorite sound on this instrument.
By lowering the tone, you can get a round jazzy, but it does not replace a guitar Jazz.
The clear sound of the middle position is somewhat reminiscent of the intermediate position of my Telecaster. This is accurate, but still warm enough, and there's twang (or something that makes me want to use the word twang).
The clear sound of the bridge is fairly standard for a humbucker in that position.
In crunch, then saturated, it's still very very good. You can get a very fat sound. The bridge pickup sounds can be sharp, but of course not as a Telecaster. Everything is accurate enough, and there are remarkably different notes played simultaneously. For example, if you play a melodic line as well as a result of agreement, everything is clear enough.
I tried a lot of fun with a Vox AC15, a Fender deluxe, super-sonic 22, a Marshall Valvestate, a Roland JC50 and line6 flextoneIII. Sounds great, except line6 in which any guitar sounds like.
I put 9/10 and not 10/10, because I might have preferred a slightly more jazzy leaves a less bluesy.

OVERALL OPINION

I bought this guitar three months ago, and of course I love it! It's really high-end, whoever had hands is okay. A great look and sound that kills that you need?
€ 2000, it was expensive, but I have not wasted my money! I would do this choice without hesitation!

The knobs are effective and sensitive: it is not on modes "on / off" found too often on the current guitars ... They are progressive and allow settings to find the REAL sound we hope! Lutherie high bill.
The pickups are of such quality that it is not necessary to tap into effects pedals: a good amp, direct, and it is happiness guaranteed!
The Bigsby works great and does not tune the guitar. Mechanical quick release, perfect frets. Manufacturing US / Germany.

UTILIZATION

The neck is fantastic, the balance is perfect, excellent playability. Access to acute is better than the Gibson LP: besides, I was definitely convinced that it is time to stop fantasizing about the Gibson expensive ... With the "Dues" is a lot more to (slightly) cheaper (even when it starts to make a sum). The rosewood fingerboard is ebony, not as I have read elsewhere.

SOUNDS

While there is value for money: the P90 and humbucker are fabulous, independently or coupled. Anything goes and everything is possible except metal. I think any quality amp will do the job properly. Personally, I play a Fender Power Chorus transistor United States and a Fender Blues Junior, I really enjoy! Yet I am far from being a brilliant guitarist, but I finally found the guitar for me in terms of sound, comfort and aesthetics! I feel that everything is going with its own character anyway: every note is well defined even in overdrive or distortion.
In his clear, the palette will not force rockabilly sound through the right and go to warm blues rock sound more modern. The practice of jazz is perfectly possible so the P90 alone or coupled with the humbucker offers versatility.
When changing positions microphones there is no change in output level. it sounds hard!
Each position has its own recognizable.

OVERALL OPINION

I've had eight days and I do not poses more ... I first cracked on the aesthetics and features the beautiful violin: the finish is on top of what you can find on the market (it is no coincidence that more and more world-renowned guitarists offered a Duesenberg!). In addition it sounds serious!
I love everything about this guitar.
The value for money at the sight of the instrument is very very good (much higher than other brands so-called prestigious ...). The case Duesenberg (included on this model) is of excellent workmanship and well adjusted to the guitar.
I highly recommend this guitar or one of his cousins ​​for those who would not like the decoration style "Shelby" Campbell model. on the other hand, good luck to those who want because it is an almost impossible to find, especially since it is a limited edition with certificate of authenticity ...

The combination of microphones, including a Duesenberg in version P90 neck pickup and a humbucker at the bridge, is efficient and very effective! 2potards (tone / volume) and a selector 3positions complement the technical side of the guitar.

UTILIZATION

The shape of the guitar is all that more mundane, a Les Paul, yes, but a semi-hollow Les Paul, yet the weight is a bit lighter than a Gibson, too bad ...

SOUNDS

Regarding the sound, there is much to say: As soon as I plugged in (on Line 6, in other words not the top), I immediately understood the magnitude of sound. Now I play on a Vox AC30 and the sound is very very very good! It can range from a crystal clean but POWERFUL (bridge pickup) to a clean velvety, melodic, refined and soft (neck pickup), while maintaining consistency in the sound (in the sense that change is not micro shocking). Moreover, the output level of each micro shocks do not, the P90 does its job and "almost" the same sound level as acute microwave. It's a good point that has not found everywhere!
When I boost the vox, I have exactly what I was looking for: A sound that is bold, huge for the Blues very dirty, the sound that was edgy when you boost the cleans, but it is biensur too strident. I have many distortions and overdrive, I used more specifically to a RAT, a Big Muff and a J & H at Visual Sound. The guitar really takes these pedals! She really his own, between his side and his side Gibson vintage gretsch / telecaster (especially on the neck pickup), it is rare versatility, but in addition, it does really well. OVERALL OPINION

I play to the indie and rock (Libertines, Arcade Fire and Arctic Monkeys), but I happen to wander into other styles (funk, blues, rockabilly), and she follows or I will, remaining unique in its sound.
It's been two and a half years that I have, I had the opportunity to test some very good guitars, e the quality of its production and sound approaches a gretsch premium would be boosted.
In addition, the aesthetic, flashy but simple, elegant but eye-catching, is very good.

This is a guitar that I recommend to everyone, even if, by imposing his personality, it is good to try it before embarking on the purchase!
