The presence of six DSP Shark capable of providing synths, effects, samples, etc. .. without me eat all my power machine.
My G4 at the time was in 32MB RAM with an SD of 250 on OS 9.
I'm running Cubase which was itself appealed to the pulsar, so Recycle
I just needed a small table, listening and my Ensoniq MR 61 (great machine).

UTILIZATION

Super stable platform on OS 9 and Windows XP the rest I've never tried.
I stopped at the 4.x has a maj (I do not remember the exact release more)
Link with Cubase VST 5!
No problem to run a dozen audio tracks purely
Latency less than 10ms ok

GETTING STARTED

No worries of installation.
As for starting at the time the environment was very innovative and it took me a while to adapt. After a time my config start up, no problem.
Compatibility side my big concern was that Creamware has never released a version for Mac OSX then after 3 years managing a dual machine, I changed platform.

OVERALL OPINION

I used it for at least 7 years without worry, I would have paired with a second time if I could! Yes, I would do without this choice problem.

I have used the guillemot isis for 1 year and a half, time to save money and buy something a little more serious, not that isis is a joke, far from the I recommend elsewhere all novices, c a really great map of isis, i must say! - But say that APRS some time, you had to dive into the 24bit/96kHz decide
I chose the PulsarII for the quality of sound, I could apprcier on various productions of my friends, but especially for the software package: the synths are hallucinations, samplers do not suffer from any comparison with AKAI samplers (I myself even a S-2000), then the interface "studio" o be any cable, clear c, c beautiful, and there's big sound!
C The only thing that everything is planned for the numrique (ADAT), I, I looked smart with all my jacks plugged into the rack of isis, kesske I do?? c true that I prfr several analog inputs ... well good, Little Miss Mackie and crgl table!

UTILIZATION

Install without problem, in fact c not a sound card, c ddi a computer processing of sound that you install in your computer!
We really feel srieux when installing this machine and c not an impression.
The only problem, i come over Logic or Windows as creamware (yeah I'm on a PIII 1GHz with Win98SE, Asus motherboard, Intel, 256 ram, 40GB disk)
The manual is useless, i did 50 pages to explain how to install the software ...
I prfr someone to explain the first step or p'tits Paske tutorials ... well ... we are not all ingnieur sound and there are things we can not invent !
In fact the true doc is on the site creamware PDF: 35 MB Tlcharger !!!??? c really the black mess! Fortunately I have ADSL at work, but I was thinking those home with a modem, or no connection at all ... : - /
Apparently those who had the previous version have the manual that came with me, I had the package ScopeFusion Platform 3.1 ... and with no doc! The bastard!
Sure, alone and without doc, I trim serious, I even failed to put in 24 bits Bourrier

The Pulsar Systm is super stable, never an error message, never crash ... even when I abuse the DSP, i said "are mistaken for DSP" but it works even when ... while j'm'attendais a blue screen ... nan nan! while the ac pass!
The only problem comes from Windows, in fact ... "PCI ASIO overload" ac the message I often when I send too much stuff, igre windoze at all, a style 20aine track stereo with qualisations and effects in every way .. . I read lots of stuff to optimize your PC ... pffff ... I understand a thing for computer c ... sniff!
Latency ... uh ... c is the time between when I play the note on the master keyboard and the moment I hear the sound ... well ... nan no latency so ...
J'apprcie also can continue to use Winamp, watch DivX ... i need to wire the player in the creamware and party c ...

OVERALL OPINION

I have been using one about me, I am more than satisfied, even hallucinating carrment, i like the synths too: j'fais hiphop sounds for friends, they allucinent on bass!
In terms of mix, c too powerful, but I'm gonna I'm not specialist in the dev'nir, compression, EQ, I left ... ban j'vous tubes 2-3 finish!

OVERALL OPINION

I use this card for 2 years now
The concept is fabulous, the advantage over all other cards: FLEXIBILITY total
It should be understood that it is not only a sound card that achte, but a complete virtual studio (same but with the Scope DSP devices and some in -)
The only complaints:
Them freeware are often left in hte (under pressure from the users?) And are quite full of bugs (but nothing serious)
-Trade Policy Creamware is aggressive: the "old" users pay a high price, and must pay more to get some updates (effects, mixer, etc.), while new users immediately complete packages
That said I love this system and I look forward to the Pulsar III

For two years, making the transition to j'esprais Creamware. What attracted me to the concept of silent Creamware simply soft combo / DSP story allger somewhat the job of the CPU. My shopping is now done and I was jubilant with joy! I usually work with the Electroacoustic, ambient, noise, etc.. The synth has knows me too, but say that I use less. So C'tait: mixing, effects, sampling and modular m'intressaient with the Pulsar II. All controllable by MIDI automation point.

Systm: P4 2.6CGHz (is it useful to add six 60Mhz CW?) 1/2Gig Ram, Antec 1080 case + (same quantity difficult to place the Pulsar II with 3 hard drives and two CD players ...), 255 Gig HDD.

Studio: Roland VS-840, Yamaha RM1x, Korg ES-1, Behringer Eurorack 1622-FX, Shure SM-58, etc..

UTILIZATION

No problem with XP installation. Only problem: the physical space for the card, prs of 8 inches long if my memory is good. With only two free PCI ... I have dplacer few hard drives in my Antec 1080 + ... which is standard, must say! Only imcompatibilit: with Logic, error messages at launch, but no effect at work. Normally, the card offers two MIDI port via PCI ... only one can be used in Logic (old version?). Solutions exist, see www.planetz.com.
The manual is clear franais, but not much. A good deal of exprience and knowledge is useful wiring. The manuals are not super synth I got. I wish I had the schmas to understand the indoor ... What good is 5 2 osc synth with all filters, env, etc.. if I am not able to know what sets them apart internally.

GETTING STARTED

Some disorder of ACCS from squenceurs twelve o'clock. But a possible solution. No problem with ASIO. Planting a single time in a month when I installed an old free devices made by someone (see link www.planetz.com + for at least 50 devices free!). Squenceur used with external Logic, CSound (okay, but I do not run in real time or in VST, only to produce the most beautiful small world wav). Latency, inaudible.

OVERALL OPINION

For a month, at least open the horizons. I love mixing with the FX consoles and the Pulsar II. The modular is also excellent. The STS-3000 can be very useful but limited in comparison to my own exprience pass sampling with the Yamaha A4000. Think buy the card just before Christmas for the spcial with plugin pack free. I took the Master Mix and pack that j'apprcie specially. Compression, and rverbration psyQ are handy to master in real time while the composition rolls as usual on soft and hardware external best view of your exact final? I like this. With the Master Mix and pack, be said that the vocodizer really INTERESTED.

The question: is it useful with a large CPU or G5? For the trip of DASP and the quality of soft yes, but otherwise ... ?

Basically, I love. I would have to develop AIM accder kit to make my own plugins and treatment algorithms ... but the thing is $ 8000! I'm even more certain it is available ...

6-DSP card with inputs / outputs Zlink, ADAT, analog, noon and SPDIF. An octopus cable allows
you connect the south and analog audio / SPDIF.
I use a Roland VM3100 Pro console connected via ADAT, a total of 12 in / out.
I kept wearing Zlink free extension for 8 In / Out Future ...
After suffering quite a plaster on my first card Pulsar I to 4 DSP mounted on a G3 B & W, I
Pulsar II spent on a G4/867 with 1GB of RAM and 100 GB hard drive.
This card is available in Pro version symmetrized and AES / EBU is what I had in Pulsar, but for the II I
SPDIF jack version because I had nothing to AES / EBU. The analog connector is in RCA jack
instead of the XLR on the Pro version.

UTILIZATION

Installation is fairly simple, just install the card and load drivers. The complication comes
over the implementation because the particularity of this map is to provide a virtual studio that will
set inside the house before the software interface to exploit its system.
On this point it is also better to add the 150 € extra and take the option to ProPack
enjoy the many additional effects and synth.
The paper manual is pretty basic, but the included CD offers a complete documentation GB format
PDF.

GETTING STARTED

Present version of the interface PULSAR, driver and management software is version 3.01, but I'm waiting
forward to version 3.1 which will enable to manage this map as a simple sound card and use
synths or effects associated directly inside of our favorite sequencer.
Version 3.01 fully supports Cubase, Logic and Digital Performer and all applications
Audio format support ASIO2.
The latency of the map is customizable, and its resolution. For my part I used 16-bit / 44Khz
with a latency of 23 milliseconds, which does not penalize me in because I do not feel ASIO2 delay
when I play a synth native.
The dynamic is quite good, the effects included too, and some synths card sound great. All

OVERALL OPINION

the interest of this map lies in the DSP that can be associated éttendre as a system
Protools TDM, adding maps Pulsar or Scope (more expensive). Pulsar card he y '6 and a DSP

provided that the pilot is to meet the devar be the case with version 3.1 expected in a day
