Bought a pair for monitoring in my mini home studio.
I chose the KRK Rokit 5 G2 for the following reasons:
- Read very positive opinion on Audiofanzine and elsewhere
- Speakers placed near the wall, so I had preferred the bass reflex port at the front (to avoid parasitic resonances)
- Listening in stores, compared to monitors M-Audio AV40 (cheap, but very poor quality), Yamaha HS50 (specific, but lack bass and vent at the back), Mackie MR5 (excellent, but somewhat more expensive and vent at the back).
- Price below € 300 a pair.

SOUNDS

I am not an expert on the subject, but I think the sound is very neutral. I have not yet heard of parasitic resonance at a particular frequency.
The sound is dynamic, without being aggressive. The stereo image is captured. The sound is clear, every detail is well rendered (for that I rely on my headphones AKG 242HD).
What amazes me especially with these speakers is that the bass is very well made despite the small diameter of the woofer. On this point, they are far ahead of the Yamaha HS50 (which may be a hair thinner in the treble).

OVERALL OPINION

I use them for 6 months.
As mentioned above, I compared with some other models, which I was not convinced. For the record, I also compared my home with my living room speakers (Triangle Zephyr on Yamaha amp ... what good quality). Verdict: This is the day and night, for the KRK, which have a much more neutral, more accurate and dynamic, at least to play sounds on my keyboard (Yamaha MOX6)!
The Good:
- A neutral, accurate and dynamic
- Bass reflex port at the front (used to place the speakers against a wall)
- Rich bass response
- Reasonable price
Cons: for now, I have found none.
I find the quality / price ratio and good quality perfect for my amateur home studio use. That choice I will ever again!
This is the first time I put 10/10 in all categories for material that I evaluate, is tell you!

The reason that i am writing this review is because these are the only speakers i bought, and the only that were recommended for me. SOUNDS

In my honest opinion, these are the best sounding speakers i have ever heard. The KRK Rokit RP5G2 is the next evolutionary step in a long line of successful and respected professional and home studio monitoring products. The sound is clear and crisp, perfect sounding. These monitors, like most studio monitors, have the ability to maintain a flat response. These speakers however pack a punch. When they start playing, and it gets loud, you'll never want to turn them off. Also, they look pretty sweet! With the center speaker yellow and the rest black, these will add style to your studio!

OVERALL OPINION

Overall, these speakers are the bomb! Literally! For the price, why wouldn't you buy them? For only $120 each, its an offer you can't refuse! These are the only speakers i have ever used, and i am not planning on using any others. I am happy with my choice and i am telling you GO WITH THESE SPEAKERS!!!!!!
