    Rode K2

    RODE K2Published on 03/14/07 at 16:00
Musician for 43 years (guitar) and a recording engineer since 1988. I write and produce faith based music now. I love jazz, folk/pop and acoustic music of most kinds.

Purchased at Sweetwater for $650 as my primary vocal mic for recording

Built like a Rolls Royce Sweet upper register with no harshness. Great mids and superb low end with great dynamic range. Absolutely noise free with unreal low noise floor. Nearly every mic on the market has a minimum of at least 14db or more of self noise. This one is a mere 10db and you can't hear it unless perhaps you had a very poor preamp. Nearly every mic on the market has a minimum of at least 14db or more of self noise. This one is a mere 10db and you can't hear it unless perhaps you had a very poor preamp. It has nice heft and a great molded carry case with the separate control which allows for all polar patterns via a nice knob. This is seamless as well....not notched. Warm up is quick and you're up and running in minutes. The tube is easily replaceable. Rode hand picks and pre burns in each tube so you can't go wrong. They obviously care about the output of this model.

Sometimes I want a little more bite in the mids, but for that I choose one of their other solid state mics.

Solid as a rock with the finest components used. All quiet surface mount boards with tight fit and no rattles. Excellent damping on the capsule as well. All connections are of course gold plated.

I don't feel one can get a better mic under $2000. Against some of the venerable Neumann's it holds up just fine. In fact until you really start to get up above the $4000 mark you really can't realize much better than this.

'm essentially classical guitarist to play for amplification and recording
    - What technology? (Electret, condenser ...)
a single static condenser capsule "6922 double triode Class A Omni directional continuous Cardio Fig.8

    - How long have you use it?
t from this Home studio and concert amplification of AER
    - Have you tried many other models before acqurir?
No, Shure KSM 109, zero for my needs, Studio Project TB1 was going for the price and for troubleshooting
    - How do you report qualitprix?
so make an offer to compare: potential / tone and finesse / Price

You mean like K with A or G XLII indtrnables-references as are the Neumann or better Schoepp and top with Brl & Kajer for those who can handle like a high-end ... sound decision-
Rode is that the microphone no other, trs good quality of place in a price range to infrieure REFERENCE intermdiaires of quality such as Shure and AKG and ind trnables as Neumann and Schoepp, but with the top of Brl & Kajer and above the sound of pipes ranges budgets
ing but if you're not sound, you got a budget for, or you're an artist and recognition you can always pay you a power of studio!
    - With the exprience, you do again this choice? ...
YES I will be aiming ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh well for a second stro

Tube microphone multidirectional spécialment I use for voice.

excellent packaging, already a very good point: Original bag, nice suspension (solid +) which is good, beautiful micro (neat, beautiful design).
we feel that Rode has treated its product, it is not shit!

    OVERALL OPINION

I use the microwave for a week: I have one thing to say ... BEAUTIFUL! in every sense of the word!

It has an accuracy in the midrange and treble without neglecting the low frequencies, the sound is warm as it should be no loud or aggressive.

I did some vocal takes with it brings out the voices in a good tone (it may be a little flattering, but I love me!). bcp people said it sounded rather "f…

I did some vocal takes with it brings out the voices in a good tone (it may be a little flattering, but I love me!). bcp people said it sounded rather "fat", I find this mic to know the voices well forward, + even need to mix the voice for hours, the mic itself is already half Taff!
I was really impressed with the robust and reliable hand, I understand why he received the award for best studio microphone in 2004 ...

the price / quality ratio is unbeatable! in this price (600 € and dust) can not get any better (maybe the SE Electronics Z 5600 A). This strongly reminds me micro TB1 MK2 Studio Projects in terms of sound reproduction (which I have not tested if it lonten ...), but still rode + accurate + end!

I highly recommend it for all styles of music where the voice needs to be put forward (hip hop, reggae, dancehall, rock etc ...), you will not regret it ...

this choice I would do 1000 times if I could, it's frankly my best investment for a microphone to date (I have another one between sE Electronics Z 3300 A and an Apex 460)

Used for the vocals, guitar amps, bass, bass drum (ext).
Micro lamp, I changed the lamp for a tesla 1968.
High quality workmanship. Multiple directivity. Book competitions which suitcase.

    OVERALL OPINION

For 3 years I have I am more happy with this microphone. The lamp Tesla compares the original, gives a smooth and finer grain on the mic. So the field is really wide uses.

It's really a very very good mic indeed. Like any electrostatic he needs a good sound if taken screaming hello.
It has the character But after changing the lamp is just beautiful.

    I highly recommend it.
