UTILIZATION

The handle is rather easy to access unless ibanez but far better than a les paul.
The access to the latest freight is rather acrobatic but the habit is quickly forgotten.

SOUNDS

The guitar was made in a factory in Japan, apparently in January 2008 (according to the serial number).
The body is mahogany with a maple top, mahogany neck and also with the ebony fingerboard. So much for the woods. Here we have a configuration with a set neck profile Thin U.
Compared to the violin and fittings, there is a TonePros bridge and tailpiece in gold finish, 22 frets jumbo and extra mechanical self-locking Gotoh Magnum, still golden finish.
For electronics, factory settings announces two emg 81 and 60, respectively easel and neck, and two volume knobs and one tone, and a 3-position selector toggle types. Good as I bought second hand, the previous owner had mounted EMG Zakk Wylde with the kit, and the tone knob had been replaced by a push / pull. Belt fasteners were also replaced with Schaller straplocks.
Currently my guitar was put together with two seymour duncan: SH4 a splittable (see the push / pull) in bridge and neck in a phatcat.

UTILIZATION

The guitar is excellent for use. The weight is perfect, neither too light nor too heavy, and straplocks offer real security in situations of intense live, avoiding your beloved instrument to go for a ride elsewhere. The lack of chamfer down the body can put some people off by breaking his hand, but this is a detail that depends on how to make the instrument.
The handle is very nice, and ebony gives a kind of soft touch but frank pleasant. The varnish finish is matt not to displease (although I never feel fundamental difference between a veneer and a satin gloss). The pitch is slightly shorter than what is done in fender, and is perfect (at least for me). Access to the treble begins to be complicated from the 17th-fret because we take the thickness of the body simultaneously, but if you know this deal, it's not really annoying. on the other hand for the shredders I recommend a more scratched with access worked more in the series horizon for example).
The engine sounds incredibly well. The phatcat takes maximum advantage of the exceptional quality of wood used, and SH4 reveals all its character. The split is also interesting on clean sounds.

SOUNDS

This guitar fits perfectly with my style of music (electro rock, classic rock, hard rock). I play a blackstar combo HT20.
In his clear the phatcat fits into a vein rather jazz, with sounds very warm and round singing. The SH4 it is more classic, slamming tasty, but also interesting in Split where he develops a sound with less bass and sharper. No "lens" with this guitar but the round and fat.

all of my friends play. A couple even made it. (can't say who)So for years i've fiddled around, play the odd fill in role when someone pulled a no-show but i'm a hacker none the least. I play everthing but i am a huge fan of Dimebag, Mustaine and Zack Wylde. I broke my back a few years ago and during recovery i was going insane not being able to get around. So to make a long story short I bought a Jackson DK2FS and Spider2. After becoming a now mediocre hacker it was time to upgrade my axe.

I wanted to buy a Jackson USA but to no availe. there were none around so I checked out esp. I purchased a ESP std eclipse. I paid 2k cdn funds at axe music in edmonton alberta.

this guitar is flawless. end of story.

A month after bringing my baby home it needed a serious truss rod adjustment but this is to be expected with the extreme dry climate in alberta. I knew this would happen but i had to write something.

All jokes aside i believe ESP got it right when they perfected the "les paul". The ESP STD. ECLIPSE is simply amazing and 1/2 the price of real les paul.

Most of the ESP guitars you see nowadays have LTD on the headstock. This means that they are not made in Japan. If you find an ESP that actually says ESP on the headstock that means its made in Japan and has custom shop level quality. This is a fully branded esp model. There are LTD models that look just like this but this is the real McCoy. This guitar has a mahogany body and mahogany neck with an rosewood fretboard and 22 jumbo frets. It has ESP's traditional flag inlays. It has bone nut up top and a tune-o-matic bridge at the bottom. Older models have the Earvana compensated nut but I think ESP stopped doing this. The tuners are a set of Gotoh Magnum locking tuners, LTD versions have ESP locking tuners. There are two EMG pickups in this guitar. There is an 81 in the bridge and a 60 in the neck. This is the pickup set that James Hetfield used for most of his career. The controls are simple with a volume knob for each pickup and a master tone.

UTILIZATION

The fit and finish on all ESP guitars is pretty good but these high end fully ESP branded guitars have custom shop level fit and finish. There are no flaws anywhere to be found. The fretwork is just about perfect out of the box. The neck is pretty thin and the jumbo frets make playing very easy. The locking tuners are great and give you great tuning stability. With the active EMG pickups you need a battery to operate them so ESP provides you a separate battery compartment so you can change the batter without having to open up the entire guitar.

SOUNDS

The EMG pickups in this guitar give it the classic metal tone. People have been using EMG's for decades to get the metal tone everyone knows. EMG's will turn any guitar into a metal monster. The 81 gives you great metal tones while the 60 can do great clean tones. EMG's are some of the best active high output pickups you can get for metal. Since they are active they need a 9v battery to work. The 81 in the bridge is a classic setup for metal. The 81 gives you great high end crunch and clarity even in the lowest of tunings. With the 81 harmonics pop right out and you get a nice searing high end tone. This high end is what keeps the sound nice and clear. The 60 in the neck is a pretty much neck only pickup. It is not super high output and is best used for clean tones. In the neck position I personally prefer an 85. The 85 has about the same output as the 81 and I think it is better for dirty solos in the neck position than the 60 is. With EMG's quick connect system swapping out their pickups takes secconds because there is no soldering involved. If you want more of an organic or passive sound you can do the 18 volt mod which runs the pickups off of 2 9v batteries. This gives you more headroom overall and a more organic tone.

OVERALL OPINION

This is not really a guitar I would recommend to most people. I know some people who will only play ESP's and think every LTD is a piece of trash but this isnt true. A nice high end LTD ESP guitar will be just as good as an ESP like this but cost half as much. If you are looking at a guitar like this I would recommend checking out the ESP LTD EC1000. It is a very similar guitar but costs about half as much and the quality is there. Most ESP artists actually play LTD guitars so the the fit and finish is there on the high end LTD models. If you will only play an ESP and are looking for a single cut with EMG's this is a great choice.

UTILIZATION

The handle is excellent and relatively fine, although not as much of a ibanez rg, but when you have already played Gibson Les Paul, you can feel the difference.
Access to acute is correct, I would have appreciated a small notch at the base of taste, but c! Once the grip you feel at ease, the guitar is not too heavy and it has a more abdominal indentation.

UTILIZATION

Channel trs enjoyable, it glides well and is quite the end for Paul. It seems thinner than my PRS SE Singlecut, but has no problem as long as there is no hand of b ^ Cheron. As for the button, it takes a little time to acoutumance to jumbo frets.
-Access to acute and trs honorable, at the same time I'm not an expert solos. So I have not seen the problem of ct but it is clear that access to is not as sharp as a strat ais and stay in esp, a M II Kirk Hammett signature or with neck-through would be much better for aficionados of solo.
-For ergonomics, c is a les paul, we like it or not. There is a notch abdominal well come. As for the weight, lgret is surprising. I play varied but right now, it's Metallica and it's amazing how a nice ring to it.

Guitar Made in Japan (the country of ESP) excellent bill mahogany (body + handle) with table Saddle Flamm crme binding. Mcaniques blocking.

It comes with a set EMG 60 in neck, EMG 81 at bridge, which is a Tune-O-Matic. Rglages level was a spar volume for each microphone, but a common tone. It is indeed the US specs, following the trial by Gibson. Its former Owner 'himself has installed Strapslock Dunlop, a big plus.

This guitar is a lgre LP, with a perfect round or too thin or too fat agreeing all styles, with 22 boxes.

The playability and build qualify on ESP guitars are top notch. These guitars are made in Japan right next to whatever ESP Custom Shop guitars you see. This guitar is a dream to play. The Ebony fretboard is super smooth and your fingers just glide over it. The frets are big and the radius is pretty flat so you can really bend notes without fretting out. The neck is thin too so this helps playability. The body is thinner than a normal Les Paul so it is more comfortable and lighter so you can play it longer. The Earvana compensated nut helps intonation all across the neck so you sound even more in tune.

These guitars have long been discontinued and are getting harder and harder to find. People who have them want to keep on to them because they are so good and so well made. With the Gotoh hardward and the EMG pickups this guitar came ready to rock from the factory. You dont really have to upgrade anything. If you are looking for a good single cut ESP guitar that comes with EMG pickups and has top of the line build quality this was one of the best they ever put out.

The configuration is quite similar to the eclipse II so simply for technical reference.
Made in Japan and beautiful finish, 22 frets, it has 2 EMG 81 (active), a side handle and an easel.
The version I own has the same settings that gibson: a volume set, volume one bridge, a tone set, a bridge and a tone selector 3 positions.
Good wood, neck-through, everything is there.

UTILIZATION

The handle is very nice, much more than the LTD. Enough but not too late, it is slightly rounded (less than the Gibson). Regrettably still have access to acute not quite clear (less than my RG ...). This guitar is obviously more tailored for rythmmiques only for flights super acute.
The guitar itself is rather light (his strength) without losing too much chest and sustain. Even without the plug in the guitar sounds of thunder.
The configurations are easy to find and the sound is there immediately.
Be careful, this guitar is not equipped with floyd, benefit when used not (no loss of sustain and body) but must be aware that we will all need some limited pieces.

SOUNDS

Bon bein force it you're in the thick of things. The sound that comes out of this guitar is huge. You tell me, bein necessarily at that price! Bein yes and no ... the value is pretty good. It was a truly exceptional guitar for a price that is "affordable"
In bridge pickup, the sound is clear without being really slamming crytalin. Very good anyway. Bass good round but it lacks a little body. It's not force the best configuration for the clear. In crunch, but it is too dirty. All need, it's clean and it's not drooling and especially one begins to recognize the sound of bein EMG and we all need urge to push. In full, it is very big, very specific. Be careful not to push the saturation of the amplifier block. With such a potato is not worth it and you will lose some teeth by compressing the sound.
In neck pickup, the sound a little drooling but still pretty accurate. All need it least, but the slap sound is nice and soft without being stifled. Nice enough to clear small solos in which the guitar will be able to give full sustain. When one enters crunch is very good. Again solo is very beautiful, the grain is soft and fine with still a lot of fishing. In saturated'm not a fan of this type of sound, but those who love the solos very fluid with a lot of sweeping and tapping will be conquered.
The config has two microphones, for me, to be reserved for clear sound. By setting the correct tone knobs you get a jazzy sound to die for. A real treat!
To sum up bein a versatile guitar with still a high degree of satisfaction for metalheads like me. Hard to beat at this price (and even beyond!)

OVERALL OPINION

I use this guitar for a few months and I am more than satisfied. So, I can not play back on the others!
Obviously this guitar gives its full potential on the metal but it can still fit in some rock and jazz musicians a little upset.
I tried a lot of models in a price range from € 1000 to € 3000 and the one I had.
The transparent black finish is beautiful and the view alone we see that it's not the Camelott.
