MGR/keogh's review"Jackson Dinky DK1 USA"

Jackson Dinky DK1L
I was looking for an additional electric guitar (i already have a Jackson Kelly std Japan and an acoustic-electric guitar Epiphone PR5-E). I wanted a new Jackson, but i wanted too a more versatile solid body than the kelly!
I finally found what i was looking for in the California Music store near to Pigalle in Paris : a secondhand buy Jackson Dinky DK1 USA.
I paid it 1330 euros (866£).

First of all, i like the design of the Dinky : a typical Jackson strat body with sharp angles and tobacco sunburst flame maple veneer. The Mother of Pearl Shark Fin Position Inlays and the ebony fingerboard. There is Gold-Plated hardware too.
But the design don't do the sound. 3 Seymour Duncan pickups equip this model with a 5 position switching, a volume and 1 tone controls :
-Bridge pickup : 1 Seymour Duncan® TB4 “JB” Humbucker
-Middle and neck pickup : 2 Seymour Duncan® Classic Stack Humbucker
The "JB" allows the typical Jackson sound : A BIG sound for metal and other saturated sounds!
The two single coils allow the typical stratocaster sounds.
I like the original Floyd Rose with seems to me to be easier to play than the licensed ones.

wo things : there are only 22 frets whereas others Dinky DK1 have 24 frets!!!

This guitar is a second hand (1997 made)and i had just one small problem with a rusty screw on the Floyd!

Excellent finishes and materials.
Alder body with Flame Maple Veneer and Bolt-On Quartersawn Maple neck with ebony fingerboard.
So beautiful and pleasant to play!

If Jackson guitars USA made were not so expensive, i would immediatly buy a new one!
This guitar is very versatile but is still perfect for metal.
