(This content has been automatically translated from French)
Epiphone guitar first prize in 1994,
1420Frs with new picks, cables, house, etc. method. made in asia ...
Probably handle variety of "mahogany" asian screwed.
    Rosewood fingerboard, 22 fretes.
Unknown body wood veneer with a sunburst.
As far as I remember, for Mecas, jumpers (yes!), nut, fittings, of plastic that was coated with a metallic paint ... Although cheap.

    UTILIZATION

Predictable: Access to acute not top (with handle lespaul screwed ..)
The bridges plastoc did not last long.
Guitar not too heavy, the strap fastener screws were torn yet fast enough (wood chipboard?).
Electronics pourrave frankly, the start selector microphones worked when he wanted, how kil…

    SOUNDS

Really awful, the sound was disgusting, I prefer not to remember

    OVERALL OPINION

It must be a guitar to start a day. I have since given ... I do not miss it at all.

I think right now, a cort in this price range will be better. Epiphone has been making progress since 1994 as its first models danss (Indonesians it still costs less than the Chinese) ....

I bought this in a local music store in Norway. I was really looking for the LP 100, but I settled for this one as the LP 100 wasn't available for delivery.

It's very easy to play, and the sound is ok.

The guitar is very poorly built. You can really feel that this is a cheap guitar. It's difficult to tune, and comes completely out of tune again after just a couple of minutes. I can't really use this guitar at all, it's completely useless. Even though it's cheap, most people buy a guitar to play it, and this one is just impossible to generate music with. I've never heard anything like it, it's becomes way out of tune.

The body seems quite solid, but the neck seems really cheap. It's really, really bad workmanship! The microphones are quite alright, but when I turn the tone button, it makes a lot of white noise.

I regret buying this guitar so much that I returned it, and ordered a LP 100 instead. I know Epiphone makes good guitars, but this model should never have been released. I've never played anything so bad. I'm not afraid to buy the Epiphone LP 100 though, and will post a review on that one to compare when I get it in about a months time.

Recently purchased off eBay at £91 as a starter guitar for my son.Normally retails at £128 - £180 depending on the finish.

It is a good looking guitar and apart from the bangs the original high gloss sunburst finish looks at first glance to be agreeable to the eye. Bostered up by that gibson badge on the headstock. After that, the pleasure stops.

This is truely the worst guitar I have picked up. True it looks at a cursory glance to be a nice peice of eye candy. But handle that baby and your in for a disappointment its construction leaves a lot to be desired and the tuning mechanism is truely abhorant.

This is truely the worst guitar I have picked up. True it looks at a cursory glance to be a nice peice of eye candy. But handle that baby and your in for a disappointment its construction leaves a lot to be desired and the tuning mechanism is truely abhorant.

This model features cheap tacky tuners that do not hold their tuning very well varying from hard to turn to exceedingly sloppy. the guitar features a bridge that is impossible to get both the bottom and top scales simultaniously in tune so, useless if you want to play tunes by the darkness or any good lead riffs. The bolt on neck and its flimsy construction make it difficult to tune as any pressure on the neck in any direction alters the tuning. To add insult to injury when you have got it plugged in watch that plastic plate that the jack plug is attatched to split down the middle its the biggest wow you will get from this sucker.

Give this baby a miss, spend a few more of those hard earned dollars and pounds on a guitar not built like a present from a lucky dip bag. If you are thinking of a beginners guitar or any other guitar for that matter give this a miss.

170 on samdaymusic.com ... came the day after i ordered it...same day music is awesome...and thats the only good part about this purchase.

    hmmmmm. nope.

where do i begin...this is my 3rd guitar...Dont ask me what posessed me to buy this. The sound is completely awful and disgusting. The front of the guitar is flat, not contoured like true les pauls (which i own now) When i got it, without and amp, it had this weird metal/tin sound. I thought it was the strings and put on my personal favorites: fender originals...it still did it. i would recommend this to soemone who is JUST begginning, or a person who feels like blowing 170 for no reason. otherwise buy something better...DONT LISTEN T…

    I played it at a friend's house

    Nothing

It's heavy, sounds waaaaayyy too bluesy. Back too the heavy part: i dropped it twice it weighs a ton because stupid epiphone/gibson has to use the heaviest wood they can find.

Don't buy it, unless you like heavy, bluesy crappy, guitars.

well.. i got this guitar about 6 months ago, bought it at "music city" ny for $200 new came with a 15 watt marshall amp (i was a beginner at this stage). This was one of the cheapest LP's i could get my hands on (the other LP's were way too expensive the special editions were the cheapest LP's) but i have allways wanted to get a LP so i went for this one.

    Nothing

This guitar is awfull! Firstly the volume and tone controls and the tone switcher are cheaply put on as mine have allready been replaced.... The sound is horrible and does not really give the true LP effect! The fretboard has been poorly made. The guitar is very heavey. The guitar breaks easily (i have allready broke the neck). T…

The shape of the guitar is nothing like the proper LP's.

I have allready explained this in the other box.

If your going to buy a cheap LP do not buy the Special 1! my friend owns a Special II and i find that much better than this guitar so if you are going to purchase a cheap LP buy the Special II. If you can afford to buy a much more expensive LP i would go for the classics e.g. LP Standard that actually look and sound like LP's!

Overall i find this guitar absolutely awfull epiphone should not even have made this guitar! and i will soon be replacing it.. well it was my fault for purchasing a cheap LP i should of saved up for a more expensive one. The special Edition 1 is a disgrace to the LP's

Won it in a contest at Music Works Anchorage, Ak.

Easy to play, solid, and simple.

Cheap fret work, and terrible tunig keys.

Like I said in the,"don't like" column, it's cheap in workmanship.

It was free and that's why I have it. If I was to shop for a guitar I wouldn't buy this one.
