1 Condenser mic input too low
Hey,
I just bought a Behringer C1 condenser mic which I connect to the Scarlett Solo sound interface without any preamps etc. The interface is then connected to my computer via USB. If the gain knob of the microhpone exceeds half the way, I get a background hissing. Not sure if that comes from the acousitcs of my room but it doesn't matter if the room's pretty quiet or not. If I turn the gain knob down below the half of the limit, the signal becomes too weak and I can't even hear the recorded sounds but the hissing gradually fades out at some point. Should I get a preamp to elevate the signal? Thanks for your time folks! I really appreciate it.

I mean the gain knob on the sound interface that changes the gain of the mic
