drivers no worries except some bug on startup (this is very rare as well)
I use it mainly with orion and Ableton Live 9
the shift I have not followed too ...
no saturation of my knowledge

I love its compactness and the fact that it is self-powered
J 'had tried Faslane motu, but it was too limited (2 E / S)
paid € 193 new, shipped and guaranteed (French market), this is an excellent value for money

USB 1.1 MIDI interface 8 inputs 8 outputs 1U rackmount powered only by the USB port of the computer.

UTILIZATION

Unlike his colleagues Midi Express XT and Timepiece, this interface has no other function than to enter and exit the MIDI. Here we have 8 inputs including 1 on the front and 8 outputs including 1 front AND rear, this is the point bar.

Who seeks to perfect just 8 MIDI no other function.

For my part, I find just a shame that there are not 8 inputs - MIDI outputs on the back and a ninth input - output MIDI before. That in fact the output 8 is also on the back a bit disoriented. But hey, I quibble ^ ^

OVERALL OPINION

Impeccable, it's solid, it's Motu )) And Motu, it's serious, regarding MIDI. I already FastLane, the same brand: so I knew where I put my feet.

Strengths:
- Rackable
- Reliable

The weak point:
- Just a pity that front, this is not a ninth input - output MIDI.

I use it only to control synths & BAR, so I have 5 or 6 devices connected IN / OUT above.

I prefer the good old MIDI to USB, which I usually causes noise in my audio output devices, so correct me MIDI shooting and is generally more reliable (especially under Windows)

I used with Windows XP, Windows 7 64bit and Mac OS X from 10.5

UTILIZATION

For my part, I have used this product over the years and I must say that with MOTU products I've never had to worry about drivers, and both Windows XP 32-bit, 64-bit Seven or MAC OS X Leopard, Snow Leo and Lion ...

Unlike my colleagues below, I've never had to worry about reliability. The only thing that happens from time to time is that the interface goes into default, all LEDs in / out are on, it says it is very rare, and it never happens in session only the ignition computer, there's just a disconnect / reconnect the USB and it restarts. That said I have to have 5 different machines win / mac, and I had all the same stability and the same problem on all default USB.

The drivers are always updated very quickly in motu.

I use it with Pro Tools and Reaper mainly, it's finally good afternoon, it works on all sequencers

OVERALL OPINION

It's been about 4 years since I use

I had another model in Tapco Midilink 4 in / out.

Experience with the product, so I would do this choice.

It is a midi interface on USB port, 1U.
8 in / 8 out MIDI box perfect to control my pace and EA-1 directly into Live 4.
I could have an interface with less of the saying but I am for the future.
It is connected to a USB 2.0 hub on my laptop.

UTILIZATION

-No problem for drivers and installation (thank you Motu).
Stabilit-flawless, I use it with Live 4 and I never had any problem until now (no loss of the interface in use, with an obligation to either reboot pourqu'elle nouveux DTECT, as sometimes happens on some models of competition).

OVERALL OPINION

I've had a month and I'm glad trs. It's simple and did what we asked. I regret one thing though, there is no switch and is the Get You Started ds usb port on which it is connected is powered ... damage.
Price level relative quality, I find trs COMPTITE seen the quality of manufacture (it's solid), even if it does not patch merger and that it can not function without a PC.

It's two balls of coquetry, but I find that with the 828mk2, has a lovely set!

UTILIZATION

Installation very simple, it is completely transparent in my System. I use it to drive a BAR, a master keyboard, a synth and reverb. Everything is wired in an audio rack DIGI002. The card is automatically recognized, any concern for stability bliss. It runs on a Powerbook G4 with Tiger. I also spend by it to drive virtual synths (BFD, TRILOGY, REASON) via a keyboard matre. The so no problem, ca purrs. I have even a synchronized Fostex FD-8 with the pro tools without concern.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it now for over a year, considering the price, there is absolutely nothing wrong, MOTU thought everything, even a faade to enter into the instruments of last re minute. 8 inputs / outputs can be serene if we want to add more stuff. I will remake this choice hsiter without a single second!

We can act on the internal configuration of the interface if the DSIR, I do not use it, but can be INTERESTED in certain configs ...

UTILIZATION

It glides on its own, directly recognized by Cubase I use.
Never saturates, even by sending a large package of deals (SYSEX, NRPN), it is transparent, what is asked!

OVERALL OPINION

Extensive use for 3 weeks, I forget that dj just the silent efficient.
The price may be seem lv but MOTU has to pay. I would least trust registered under Chres but may be hiding a lower reliability in look fabulous (M-Audio, not to mention).
I would do definitely the choice.
