Fretsong FS-1

Fretsong guitars are made in the USA by luthier Paul Morley from the characteristics requested by customers. So there is very little chance of finding two similar instruments taking into account the number of possibilities and options when ordering.
This one is a guitar Fretsong FS-1 with global and very inspired Steinberger M series form (see http://www.steinbergerworld.com/M-series.htm).
The one-piece body is korina (a mahogany variety of lighter color) covered by a sheet of butternut.
The handle is composed of 7 rooms (there are rosewood, the ziricote, limba and ebony). It has 24 frets, an ebony fingerboard, 24 frets medium steel, inlaid abalone. Its capacity is provided by two blades of carbon fiber, which guarantees a non-standard stability.
The guitar features two Bare Knuckle black-hawk (see details on this website), a pickup selector with three positions and a switch that toggles single coil.
Roper (XS-trem a similar S-trem that equips Steinberger) and block-strings headstock are signed J-Custom.

UTILIZATION

Channel and ergonomics? I do not even speak.
The sound? Accuracy, clarity, dynamics, color, very quick response and high definition notes, a brief killing.

SOUNDS

I play with a system composed of a Tri-axis + TC Electronic G Major + 50/50 Mesa Boogie + psycho-acoustic processor which I do not remember the name ... well ..

OVERALL OPINION

I played for several years on a Steinberger equipped with active electronics and whose handle is round and slightly less wide than the Fretsong. The Steinberger is a great guitar that you can tweak the sound very effectively through its onboard preamp. Despite this, the Fretsong not playing in the same category. I think this is due mainly to the quality of wood used. Manufacturing by a luthier is very important, the quality of the equipment is at the top but the Steinberger, although carried out in a semi-industrial scale, also reached a high level. There, where, against, Fretsong differs widely, it is the choice of materials. Here we are on very heavy.
