The Monster Cable Studio Pro 1000 is a 1/4 inch instrument cable.  It is just about as high quality of a cable as you can get, gold tips and all.  While I can't say that I can heard a distinct difference in sound quality, having a reliable cable is a must.  Being able to transfer information from your instrument to your amp or console without losing any sound quality is imperative and is something that is often over looked.  If you were to use this cable and another of lesser quality back to back, I'm sure that you would notice a lot less loss of sound.  While I wouldn't say that this cable enhances your sound, it takes the exact sound quality from your instrument and presents it in its true form.  While I don't know if I would recommend bringing this cable on the road or for live shows since it is so expensive (although I definitely think that it could handle it), it is perfect to have in the studio.  Even just investing in a single cable will in the long run make a difference.  I always just love to have a cable around that I know won't break and will accurately portray my sound.  While many other less expensive Monster cables will definitely do the job, this cable is in a class of its own in terms of durability.  Even so, Monster offers a lifetime warranty on all of their cables so even on the off chance that something does happen to this cable, you'll be insured.  The price is definitely expensive for a cable, but if you worry about your cables breaking or shorting out in the studio or on the stage, I would recommend at least looking into getting a Monster Cable Studio Pro 1000.
