classic table

EMT 938Published on 12/11/11 at 22:54
This is a really solid record turntable, one that has been in my family for many years. My dad has had this table since he was in high school, which was 1971-1975. All I've ever had to do to get it fixed and working again (beyond the obvious point of replacing the stylus), was to readjust the belt one time. And that only took a few minutes! I think one of the best features about this is the arm. It has a cool adjustable feature that prevents skating on the table. It's a bar that raises the arm and drops the needle as low as it needs to go, so that you aren't scratching records. One thing I wasn't crazy about was that it doesn't have the protective plastic cover for the table, which makes...…

It's a bar that raises the arm and drops the needle as low as it needs to go, so that you aren't scratching records. One thing I wasn't crazy about was that it doesn't have the protective plastic cover for the table, which makes damaging it a little bit easier. However, that's a minor complaint.
As far as sound quality, this table is a pretty great-sounding one. Granted, 90% of the sound is because of the needle, but I've certainly heard record players that sounded far worse even with better needles. This is certainly a trusty table, assuming you have all of your needle issues figured out.
The needle on this table is one that I haven't been able to find. I'm still looking into replacing some parts and seeing if I can get a different needle. I'd rather not go online and pay a ton of money for it, if it'd be easier to just to find another way to do it.
All in all, a solid table that holds up well over time. As long as nothing on this table breaks and the cables are kept straight, it's a perfectly capable unit. The needles might be tough for you to replace, but you can get them online if you really need them. Or some people still fix them in local record shops.

Hello,

EMT-938 plate REPRESENTATIVES TD studio par excellence. TD This compact, easily transportable despite a weight of 25kg, is to use dconcertante easy.
Mcanique much less than 928, since it uses direct drive and not a complex set of sub-plateau and plateau by roller drive.
Even if one can call the TD audiophile, it is a musiqualit surprising.
In my case, I coupled with either a DL-103, a Denon DL-160.
Because of its design are simply, its quality of manufacture is no doubt, it's prcis, and that for the srieux trs long.
I acquired the TD by chance in a state of exception, I do not really regret this choice.

When I say "Even if it can not be described as TD audiophile" is that in the audiophile world, the direct drive TD has always indented face or over the belt drive. This decision is supported by some phnomnes vibration from disturbing the clarity of reading. It is obvious that for studio use, the rapid dmarage take precedence, and the instantaneous stopping of the plate.
O On the complexcit the old EMT and other Clment rsultat to get this.
This opinion is measured that is why I said "it is a surprising musiqualit"
The TD and its tone arm, have been designed to operate in extreme conditions, for example, shocks to cash playing without it disrupt the final cost shift arm on the disk.
A typical example Submitted by the EMT team, silent to tilt the plate strongly playing without skipping groove. We could not do that with a TD, even trs CHRE, an intended domestic costs.

Hello,
I take note of the opinion just published on the turntable EMT 938.
Meanwhile I bought a 948 with TSD 15, I made cell re-new. (And I always climbs a 928 DL 103, and a correction to the passage of this opinion: the 928 has entered a Government and non-belt and pulley belt, this is true for the TD124). I agree in full on the quality of the Entran plateau (the couple a great "big" direct drive) and many sr manufacturing gnral EMT. But how these decks would they not "audiophile quality"? They are probably not the most sophisticated on the market today and pass. But the arm EMT Is it not recognized by audiophiles as a great arm? Did he does not mount on some original Thorens TD124?...…

My TD 124 is equipped with a SME 3009 Improved, an EMS is - and this has t - audiophile.Pourtant an arm that is not the best for a DL 103 which prfre a shaft drive. Then: EMT audiophile or not?
