Mine is a custom 24 Black Birds with Chery. It has the config 'standard' that is with 5-way switch and vibrato.

Little reminder for the 5-way switch, PRS offers two types of selectors microphones
- The 5-position rotary switch: allows you to choose between the following configurations: double neck pickup, neck pickup in single, 2 double pickups, bridge pickup in single, double pickup.
- A selector 3 positions (Les Paul type) + a volume control with push-pull. In this case, we choose the selector from: neck pickup, the two pickups, bridge pickup. The push-pull on the volume knob can then choose from the microphones in single or double coil.
3x2 = 6! And yes, this was a config option as well: the two microphones in singles. In addition, this configuration is more intuitive. Known or easy it is, which is not the case with the 5-way switch, but it's a matter of habit.

Of course made in the US (you can find on the site of the black box, video all the various stages of manufacture of the device! It's great to see!)

The violin is wonderful. The table of mine in flamed maple is beautiful, but frankly I have never seen a failure! Yet I look at these guitars for years ... The color of mine is 'Black Cherry' is a very dark red. The neck and head are also varnished in the same color.

Even the box is beautiful. Simple and beautiful, high quality. A real jewel to jewel!

UTILIZATION

The handle is very pleasant. This is the first guitar I painted with a handle. At first it is a little confusing, but you get done.
Access to acute is perfect, the balancing of the guitar also. It is not too heavy, which is appreciable.
As for sound, just plug it to get a good sound

The 5-way switch is not very intuitive. Not easy to know where we are when we take the guitar. Likewise for those who change their sound in the middle of songs, not easy to find! But I think it's a matter of habit. On the other hand, with a Les Paul, it often changes at the beginning of grazing the microphone selector ... it's still a matter of habit!

SOUNDS

This is really the highlight of this guitar! Sounds that are out are really fabulous. The pickups are really powerful and precise all at once. Being able to switch to single coil gives crystal clear sound beautiful ...

I play a little bit of everything in the style of music, pop, some rock, blues ...
I'm not a great guitarist and yet I go out sounds extras!

The only problem is then to play again with his other guitars

OVERALL OPINION

I dream about this guitar for years! I take the plunge a few months ago at Christmas. I can not be objective! When we realized a lifelong dream, how to be disappointed!
I will not go into the debate: PRS / Les Paul, everyone to choose according to their tastes. For my part, I love everything about this guitar: design, finish, sound, ... everything is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a guitar that polivalente also have a soul, I found it. To those who say that this guitar has no sound to it, they try, they look at the Loan and they can judge on piece.

I love the sound of microphones simple, they are precise, critallins, slamming ... The sounds are powerful double ...

Congratulations to PRS to offer us these quality instruments. For lovers of this brand, I recommend a book that is found on the website of PRS which traces the history of the brand with lots of pictures and history of all models. A must!

subjective approach:

The PRS does not hit me specially in the eye. The wood of the table and body are standard in appearance. CONTRL missing to help the artist sculpt his sound. However, the phase splits and dual mode Submitted and trs are effective. I note the good finish work at all levels. The masking plates and springs of the tremolo are electronic plastic ugly. Too bad!

[7] A good guitar is a guitar dmarque standard design Features and finish. Too bad the wood is not just the most beautiful (take care, they are fine dj), for CHF 5'290 .00 for when it would be nice-even.

Complment of 07/28/08: APRS test various prs custom 22 and 24 is the only PRS that were as ugly wooden tables.

UTILIZATION

The guitar is, to my great surprise, made of a high density wood. I just grabbed a Gibson Les Paul Custom APRS and the difference in weight is not striking. The PRS Seems light but it is not. A kind of ballet of combat. Mfiance so.

Comfort is, however, the appointment and the handle, a trs good handle also fits perfectly between your fingers. It gives an impression of solidity reassuring and allows multiple game styles and a high speed. The slip coating well on this instrument, but as for the Les Paul, I have not had a chance to sweat on this dernire.

Note that Access in acute might be better if PRS had not built a heel slightly XL, even if it remains excellent.

As nuncio above, one of potentiomtre Tone and volume is a bit short. But it's OK thanks to five positions slecteur trs effective.

[8] Let us not be deceived, the prs is accommodating for intensive use. A good tool.

SOUNDS

Operate this guitar is empty is a surprise. I get sounds from a power and a remarkable rgularit. The spectrum is TRS balanced and the grain and depth are commendable.

In dlivre clean guitar sounds a whole lot of warm and round with a nice slam on the attack and air resell (read by an Arian clean and warm). They are certainly a little less beautiful than the prs dragonII can offer, but it is still in the magnificence.

In crunch as saturated guitar excels. The sound can take a little dnominations all of what needs to be a crunch and saturated to give us the best of his woodwork. Palme d'Or in the saturation or sound, modern, Dfine is a power and an attack phnomnale.

[10] we will not twist the ass ch ... right, this guitar is to block the ball in the area. If you make of modern music, you may love this guitar sound really possde hell.

OVERALL OPINION

In a Manner of speaking,if this guitar was not so expensive, it would be absolutely perfect. Indeed, charging a customer for the price of the guitar SERIES. It's a bit all of us take for hay ties.

It must also fight against many competitors in its srieuses sgment, dean hardtail since the United States, through the Rievax Xavier Petit Soldier Warrior and other higher quality still. Note also the appartition rcemment of Fame with Forums couraging in custom shop and are almost consistent with copies prs. But it is worth sre, even if the hill should not increase over time (dteint problem of varnish on some models).

The wood is not from a prestigious but did not notice the ear. If you can, privilgiez of pre-1989 MODELS. C'tait millsines the good of prs trs.

The sounds found on the 5 positions are extremely versatile (from the Start / Tele through the Gibson (microphones 57 'or 490) and arriving at the PRS ... ... !!!!!!

SOUNDS

Perfect for my style (except for a slight lack of warmth in jazz)
Congratulations Peavey played with 112 (all lights) without any pedal - Canal + distortion on spring reverb amp.
All sounds are good with a little research and especially finger (it is very sensitive to the type of "touch", attack, vibrato violin or Blues that delivers incredible harmonics.
For my part I play Santana, Gary Moore, Gilmour etc. ... great!

OVERALL OPINION

Purchased mid August 2011 preceded by Epi.Casino, Telecaster, Washburn N2, ES335 (57 ') and PRS SE Custom 24 25th Ann.
It last me so excited that I j'ait jumping on the 24 Custom

In every sense of the words! Lutherie Pafaite accuracy of any test, smooth finish is not really a dream guitar! ond the maple (top ten, Artist Package) is just wonderful!

If you have any other FENDER GIBSON look closely the finish of your guitar, there will be a veneer done wrong, an approximate correctness! CUSTOM SHOP only the major brands can compete with the PRS.
Brothers struggling guitarists do more on your stove pan, let you go on a real guitar Electrqiue ...

Paul Reed Smith guitar is the boutique guitar and build quality and materials used. The also specialize in their own version of humbucker pickups and sound fantastic and my opinion. These are some very exotic looking guitars as well as a very cosmetically appealing guitars. This is going to be for a guitar player who likes the look of the guitar as well as the versatility and sound of the guitar.

This guitars pretty easy to use like any Paul Reed Smith guitar can be. The humbucker pick ups and a nice mahogany body would connect and neck with a cool flamed maple top. Give your normal volume and tone controls and pick up selector and that is pretty much about it there is it too much to figure out about this guitar there's no midi switches or anything that you push pool to get different sounds are phasing in and out it's pretty standard rock 'n roll guitar.

SOUNDS


The tone of this guitar is very fantastic if you like the sound of the Mahogany guitar and you will enjoy the sound of this guitar. The top maple will level out and balance out the guitar a lot better and add some necessary highest to the frequencies. It allows the guitar to breeds better and give it a lot more versatility then just the standard mahogany guitar.

These guitars are extremely versatile for pretty much any style of music. I see many country guitar players uses guitars as well as drop tuned players. These are around the county guitar that is able to be a great digging guitar and recording guitar. They sound fantastic although they are a little bit expensive compared to a couple version of a shifter or a guitar like that.

OVERALL OPINION


At new these guitars come in right around $2600 which is a pretty good chunk of change for a guitar. I'd love big fan of the Paul Reed Smith guitar next as they are a little bit chunkier and they just don't seem to fit my hand correctly. So I would recommend playing the guitar first if you get the opportunity to see if you even like it or not. If you are used to Fender Stratocaster or Fender telecaster's then this guitar will seem a little out of place for you but if you have played a Gibson Les Paul you probably be a little bit more comfortable with this guitar.

PRS has made a huge mega impact on the guitar world. They have built high quality guitars and have really been the first company to expand an in house boutique quality guitar and delivery it to the masses. These guitars are some of the most beautifully constructed guitars in the world. The have unique and colorful patterns in the wood and many burst options that just compliment the beauty of the exotic woods.

PRS also has its won guitar body style that has made them easily identified. They have a mix between a Fender Stratocaster and Ibanez/ Les Paul SG all in one to make their own unique looking shaped guitars.

SOUNDS

One of my on going beefs with PRS guitars are they are very hit or miss. I have played too many of their guitars to count and many of them have been great and many of them have been very poor.

This guitar has a great tone and I have always felt that with every PRS guitars that I have played. They don't have the soul of a Gibson Les Paul but the tone is very good for a do all kind of guitar.

I have seen country players play a PRS and I have seen metal guys play them. So the tone has been able to shift throughout musical genres. The pickups are great as well. They are not super high gain but not a vintage humbucker either. They fit in the middle nicely which enables them to blend between music styles.

OVERALL OPINION

At new these guitars come in at around $2600. Not a bad price for a PRS but certainly not a cheap price either. If you like the smokeburst look which I am not really a fan of then you will probably look past anything negative about this guitar. However, I would recommend playing this before buying because like I said these guitars drift from good to bad and you never know which one you are going to get.
