It possde 24 frets, two humbuckers: a vintage bass in the neck position and HFS in the bridge position. Both pickups are original, they will conues entirely by PRS for its guitars.
The mcaniques ropes PRS is a patented system which allows mounting ropes 1/4 turn (no more cramps door handle), but you must take the hand is at the beginning galre a little. USE

The handle is very pleasant it is a trade-off between Fender and Gibson I think.

Regarding the sound, I find it exellant, there's really nothing to say except ...? ... It's perfect.

If there are some who find it a bad sound then you definately they arrtent guitar.
As against this, may not like the sonority PRS.

SONORITS

It suits all styles of music I do not see that it could not play. "I have even a pte to me to make a decision gypsy jazz concert!"

I think that all lamps amp is ideal for this kind of guitar with a little weakness for Mesa / Boogie amps.

All types of sonorits are allowed with this instrument, biensur, the amp used there for many. It fits you and your personality.

My personal, I did with a group of hardcore, jazz conservatory and alternative rock with another groupe.Et the beast she dyed the road well.
Truly a versatile guitar.

I use it for 6 years, I've had 2000.Je have bought 15,000 fr (= 2287).

Its a long story... I responded to an ad in the St Albans chronicle, a regional north london newspaper regarding a Gibson les paul firebrand! Not knowing what this strange animal was, I called the ad and got the address. The juvenile voice on the line had me suspicious, but my hunger for the elusive guitar deal of a life time made me overlook this disturbing detail. Arriving after speeding all the 12 miles through Watford to St Albans in a 69 Triumph spitfire I could hardly contain my excitement, but as with all deals I had to gain composure and pretend not to be excited. Perhaps this guy was a syd barrett that lived in his bedroom for 20 years? After knocking, a neanderthal looking mono sylabbic speaking youth with the greasiest hair i'd ever seen ushered me up to his bedroom. The thought of some scene from deliverence crossed my mind, but the smell of a guitar find powered me onward. He opened a wardrobe, removed what seemed to be dozens of pairs of shoes to reveal the unmistakeble shape of a fitted gibson case. Like a coffin being exhumed from a grave he wiped off the dust and laid the precious sarcophigus on the bed. OPening the case there was what appeared to be a les paul that had been scratched to death by the buried alive victim you see in movies. It was a les paul no doubt. I asked the cro magnon about its history and the like, but alas details were sketchy. He said he had to sell. I asked the all important question, how much? Expecting a four digit reply, he simply grunted make me an offer. This is the moment whan all the cool in the world is needed, and all the yoga in the world wouldnt have brought my heart rate down. I took a gamble, based on my suspected IQ assessment, and offered him 250 quid. He immediately said yes, and I began counting out the faces of queen elizabeth into his sweaty palm, trying not to appear excited, half expecting him to turn into the punk pithicus he looked like. I finished dealing out the wad, and closed the case, thanking him, got down the stairs and out the door. I was in the spitfire and down the road, glancing at the black gibson case wondering if the thing was for real or a fake or what!. Once home we , my brother and I thoroughly researched the strange gibson and found it be official. The bridge pickup was working intermittently so I took it to a guitar shop in St Albans for repair. Whilst there the owner asked me to try this new vox 24 fret guitar he had just received. Remember this was 1983 and Carlos Santana was using the Yamaha sg2000. I guess this vox was a challenger to this genre of axe...... he traded the gibson even up for the vox which was 699 pounds in the store with a hardshell case

The 24 frets was special, it was weird to be able to solo in B above the 12 fret easily. The action was incredible and the screaming response from the semour duncan double humbuckers was twice the output compared to my 74 strat. It has single coil switching and out of phase switching too, which gives versatility to the sounds available.

The guitar is heavy! Its made from a number of gorgeous looking dark woods laminated, but I was suffering from "les paul neck" by the end of the first jam with the boys.

Construction is excellent and the finish superb

Ive had this guitar 20 years now and the only change I made was to replace the neck double humbucker pickup with a fender lace sensor double pickup, the blue/ gold combo. This now allows me to have amazing fenderesque tones and the screaming seamour at the flick of a switch.

It was an aniversery gift from my Wife. It was purchaced from C&M music center in Baton Rouge, LA. The Cost was 2189.

I love everything about the guitar. The finish is beautifull. Its not a 10 top, but I like it better than a 10 top, I think 10 tops are too perfect with not enough character. Its Black Cherry stain. I got it with the 3 way toggle and the push/pull tone for coil tapping. This guitar sings. Its best when distorted, but the clean channel is beautiful.

There is nothing I don't like. The only thing I wish it had was seperate coil tapping for each bucker.

This guitar is built wonderfully. Feels great, looks great. All around great guitar.

This is a wonderful guitar. I would suggest to anyone thinking of buying a Les Paul to try a PRS. They play great and can sound like a Paul, but is also more diverse.

I bought this guitar second hand about two monthes ago. It set me back $2900 Australian dollars, but thats OK, as with our current exchange rate, they are completly worthless anyway.


After day dreaming about owning a PRS for ages, I finally found one that was affordable, and was completely blown away. This is the best guitar I have ever played.



The second you plug in a set neck PRS, you are absolutely blown away by the tone. It makes you amp sound ao much more alive than any other guitar before.


When playing my Les Paul after getting my PRS, it sounded very muddy. The PRS has a much clearer tone, but it is not as fat. The main difference between the two guitars, is that the PRS sings, and has a very smooth sound, where a Les Paul screams, and can sound very rough in comparison.


The main reason I prefer the PRS to a Les Paul is that it is capable of sweet clean sounds as well as awesome overdrive courtesy of coil taps. This is definately the most versatile guitar I have owned. You will no longer have to switch between your Les Paul and strat.


My PRS plays like a dream. This is definately the best neck I have ever played. It is similar to a Les Paul, but slightly wider, not as thick, and with a much flatter fretboard. I find it feels lovely, and is even faster than the neck on my Ibanez Universe.



The only thing I really do not like about this guitar is the rotary pick up selector. At first it can be a bit daughnting, as you can not look down and imediately see which pick-up you are using. Although after you have had the guitar for a while it is not a problem.


A continual problem with the selector though, is when your hands get sweaty, it can be very hard to turn. I think a standard switch would be much better.


I also do not think the case is acceptable on guitar that cots as much as a PRS.


The only complaint I have about the sound is that it can be a bit mid rangey. It is not a good match for high end biased amps such as marshalls. It sounds much better through a bassy amp. This is just not picking though.



I am lucky in that my guitar is a pre 1995 model. It was hand built in the Virginia street factory. It absolutely flawless, and looks like it is brand new, even though it is approximatey 12 years old. After moving to a larger factory in 95, the quality went down hill, as happens with mass production. The guitars are no longer hand made, and the grade of woods used is lower. Try and find a pre 95 model if possible.


This is definately the best sounding, best playing and best qualits guitar I have ever owned. Every other guitar feels like a plank of wood and sounds dead in comparison. A woderful guitar.

The PRS Custom 24 is one of the flagship guitars from the company and it was introduced back in the eighties as a blend between the Fender and Gibson camps. It features a mahogany body and neck with set neck construction like the Gibson guitars, a rosewood fretboard with 24 frets and really classy bird inlays, locking tuners, a custom design PRS tremolo system (non locking) and a pair of PRS humbuckers (usually the HFS/Vintage Bass combo). It's basically like a high class superstrat meets a Les Paul, and as a result it's quite versatile and can cover lots of sounds from clean through dirty with ease.

UTILIZATION

The design of the Custom 24 is pretty amazing. The shape is excellent and the weight is a great balance between light and heavy. It's got a beautiful carved top that not only looks killer, but offers nice support for your arm to rest on. The only real issue I have with the design is the neck heel, which can get in the way of the upper fret access a bit (though I'm no stranger to that, having played Gibsons that had the same issue). Getting a good sound out of this guitar is pretty easy. The woods and pickups used are top quality, so the tones are just excellent. Whether you are playing clean or distorted, rhythm or lead, this guitar will respond very well to whatever you are playing.

SOUNDS

The tones out of this guitar are excellent. I'm a big fan of the PRS pickups in general. They're pretty high output, yet they retain the feel of being like a vintage pickup like a PAF. The result is a very thick and sweet sounding guitar that has excellent sustain and oozes harmonics, especially when played through a distorted tube amp. The neck pickup is syrupy smooth, perfect for any kinds of smooth jazz comping or overdriven fusion leads, and the bridge pickup is biting and clear, yet very thick - a perfect mate for hard rock riffage and shredding lead work. The in between positions on the selector offer some very Fender-esque Strat/Tele type tones that really cap off the instrument and prove its versatility in a variety of settings.

OVERALL OPINION

All in all I think the PRS Custom 24 is truly a fantastic instrument. It looks killer, feels like an old friend, is very highly crafted and the tones are to die for. At about $2,800 new this guitar isn't cheap, but if you're willing to pay the price for a real instrument that blends the gap between Gibson and Fender and offers just a great guitar, do yourself a favour and try the PRS Custom 24. You won't leave disappointed.

The PRS Custom 24 is the flagship of the regular PRS line. This is pretty much a custom guitar you can go out and buy in most guitar shops. PRS is a smart company in that they do not sit on a successful model without ever trying to improve it they constantly strive to make it better and better. This is the new PRS Custom 24 model. You can get it in a variety of finishes and you can also pick the one of the two PRS neck shapes. They use to be called Wide-Fat and Wide-Thin but they are now called Pattern Regular and Pattern Thin respectively. This example had the thinner neck. The guitar has a mahogany body and a mahogany neck. The neck has an Indian rosewood fretboard with ivory bird inlays. Up top you get a set of the PRS winged locking tuners. The bridge is the PRS Fender style Tremolo. I would prefer a hardtail version but they do not make many hardtail Custom 24's. This example had the stock 59/09 pickups still in it. The control layout has pretty unique placement with a volume and tone with a 5 way blade switch that splits coils. The blade switch replaces the old rotary switch that use to come on these models.

UTILIZATION

PRS is like the Apple computers of the guitar world. They are always looking to improve their models and they dont really care if you have grown attached to a certain feature. If the feature can be improve they are going to improve it. They do not sit on a model for 20 years while the rest of the world moves on around it. The tuners on these guitars are some futuristic locking tuners that PRS has come up with. They do the job and also prevent the string from slipping on the peg which some tuners do not prevent. The pattern thin neck is nice and thin. It is wide as well so it has the old super strat feel to it. The pattern regular neck isnt that fat itself but it has more of a traditional Gibson 50s feel to it while this is more 60s. The tremolo unit even if it looks like something off a 50s Fender it is a really modern design and holds tuning well. It is very stable so you can do double stops on it without going out of tune, something you cannot do on a lot of tremolos.

SOUNDS

The 59/09 pickups in this guitar are PRS's take on the old school PAF design. They have a bit more of a modern feel to them and PRS's guitars are modern overall so the feeling fits. Both of the pickups are very smooth. Usually just the neck pickup has a smooth tone to it but on this guitar both pickups have a very smooth classy feeling to it. The switching on this guitar is slightly different. Position 1 gives you the bridge humbucker like you expect. Position 2 gives you the bridge humbucker with a single coil split tone from the neck. The middle position gives you both the neck and the bridge in humbucker and position 4 gives both pickups in single coil mode. The last position gives you the full on neck position sound.

OVERALL OPINION

If you own a PRS Custom 24 it is most likely the flagship of your collection. These guitars are works of art as much as they are instruments. The craftmanship on these guitars is amazing to behold. You havent seen a flamed top until you see a PRS 10 top. The quality on these guitars rivals something you would get out of a custom shop. PRS being on the market and growing in popularity has made other companies advance their designs and overall game in the guitar industry. Competition betters the breed and if more guitar makers adopted a more modernized approach to guitar designs we the player would benefit greatly.

PRS is an American guitar company known for making the most up to date guitars on the market. They started in the late 70s when Paul Reed Smith would go around to big name artists begging them to play his guitar. Now they have a reputation of being some of the best production guitars for sale. This is the new PRS Custom 24 model. The 24 in the same stands for 24 frets. With the new 2011 models they have changed the name of their neck shapes. Instead of Wide-Fat and Wide-Thin the necks are called Pattern Regular and Pattern thin respectively. You have to check which one your guitar has because the model can come with either neck without any markings or changes in the model name. This lovely Black Cherry model I first tested out had the Pattern Thin neck. PRS guitars have some of the best finishes on the Market. I dont know where they get their woods but they are really nice. I am a sucker for nice bookmatched flame finishes. The guitar has a mahogany body and a mahogany neck. The neck is the Pattern Thin profile I mentioned earlier. The neck has an Indian rosewood fretboard with ivory bird inlays. Up top you get a set of the PRS winged locking tuners. The bridge is the PRS Fender style Tremolo. I wish more of the Custom 24 models came with the hardtail. I am not an expert on PRS pickups but these are the stock PRS pickups in this example. The control layout has pretty unique placement with a volume and tone with a 5 way blade switch that splits coils. The blade switch is a lot better than the 5 way rotary they use to use where you never knew what position you were in.

UTILIZATION

The PRS locking tuners are really cool. These tuners lock the string in as well as the tuner in place. With the string locked in there is no slipping while youare tuning up. I had to read the instructions on how they work but they are a really creative modern design. The Pattern Thin profile neck is nice and thin like the name says and wide as well. It is very comfortable kind of like an old Jackson neck. The 24 frets are not super big but they have plenty of meat on them. The 25 inch scale means you are right inbetween a strat and a Gibson. The upper fret access is pretty good due to the deep cutaway bevels in the body. Only thing I do not like about the palyability on this guitar is the Les Paul style heel on the neck joint. The tremolo is good but I am not much of a tremolo user.

SOUNDS

The pickups in this guitar are classy for lack of a better word. The neck pickup is exactly what you want out of a neck pickup. It is smooth and fat. It loves to play lead lines. Both pickups have a very PAF quality to them but with more beef and bite. The bridge pickup has more smoothness than you get on a lot of bridge pickups nowadays. Even with the tone rolled completely off both pickups retained their clarity and were usable. If you are playing metal you may need some more specialized pickups but for just all around music these pickups are some of the best out there in a stock guitar.

OVERALL OPINION

PRS has been making some of the best guitars around for years and years and people now know this. They have made the bigger companies step up their game when it comes to quality and modernity. The Custom 24 has been part of their line up since the beginning and it is one of their flagship production models. When you get a Custom 24 you know you are getting the best guitar you can get. If you are looking for the absolute best production guitar with the best fit and finish and most up to date modern hardware it is hard to go wrong with a PRS.

So I Submitted Machine Gun, my PRS Custom 24. I want prciser that I bought in the U.S., Baltimore is to say a few kilometers of the plant is o PRS factory, instead of 2400 dollars 4300 here (it's a table with PRS Saddle Top Ten sculpt is to say the highest finish available on the MODL).
As the name implies, the Custom 24 possde ... 24 frets.
The pickups are hambuckers PRS HFS bridge, Vintage Bass neck. The HFS destroy the Gibson sound, but the typical PRS with his strange, a little tearful. The Vintage Bass has a vintage sound (yes surprisingly c), but big warm sound sweeter than HFS, excellent guitar ambience.

CONTRL 1 volume, 1 Tone CONTRL of a 5-position rotary slecteur
She does book tui gain PRS leather with a sort of velvet midnight blue satin liserais red, beautiful. In addition to PRS has offered me a Zippo and a strap with a lot of mdiators.

UTILIZATION

The handle ... low profile heel, mahogany set neck, rosewood fingerboard inlays and "birds" pearl vritable (zoizos to the beautiful). Trs trs enjoyable, but very fast Submitted my prfr with that of the Music Man Luke.
Access in acute is simple: almost no heel, deep cutaway: access a breeze.
A play is a rgal. Standing, no problem but not too clger (BChE is not good but it's not the plasterboard). I sat a little harder but not too much problem we can find an enjoyable position. (Because of a: 9)
To the right sound, it's like on my Les Paul Black Beauty, just plug it !!!!!

SOUNDS

I love the guitar room and I must say that none of my guitars prtaient it really. Thanks to micro Vintage Bass of the PRS, I am filled for the rock, the true, that of Hendrix, Santana, Led Zeppelin, Dire Straits, it should! (Did you notice?: = Start Hendrix, Santana = PRS, Gibson = Led Zeppelin, Dire Straits = thought: she plays everything perfectly!)
Mtal for the rock hard or Metallica, or for stuff like that I'm really not an expert, it is ideal, since three quarters of the (pseudo) mtalleux play on.
For the blues no soucy good sound perfect fat (less than my gibson though). I do not like jazz, so I know. The classic ... I tap on a DLIR Ravel gave, if so!!
Frankly it is a distortion of the goddess, prcise and fat, and for this I will say that partialemment Mesa Boogie amp is the brand that suits him best (Soldano said it will also !!!). The clean sounds are warm, it is superb, but for fans of the chattering Fender Stratocaster is not really the strength of the brand. But the people do not long rsisterons this new sound !!!!!

PS: play with a Fuzz Factory pedals you have an incredible, never seen or even imagine!
The Ibanez TS9 distortion pedals to Reissue plugs into the clean channel of a Mesa all with PRS, gives her cry. Promise!

OVERALL OPINION

One I had for 3 months had a problem table so I returned. I just got a new PRS, but exactly the same color Royal Blue ... She is absolutely beautiful !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love everything about her.
It costs exactly the same price as my Gibson Les Paul Black Beauty 1954 and possde a quality similar to rev high, worthy of the Gibson custom shop I tell you !!!!!!!
I also have a Hohner Start up in 1959 SA/SA/89 EMG (admittedly, it's less glorious but I love it) and I must say that the palette is complte!
The report price is trs good quality, although a still exorbitant and I put a ... n ass !!!!!!!!
I would do without this choice hsiter, I love it !!!!!!!! (9 for the price)

UTILIZATION

Usage is perfect to change the strings, nothing more simple,

access facilitated by the sharp and well set neck profile.

You can do anything with this guitar. Pop, the Neo-Metal Blues juqu'au well nag who let off steam!

We get warm sounds easy, c of the scraper raw emotion.

OVERALL OPINION

I've had one week, my eyes are shining again ...
I love everything about this guitar ... really all ...
It's expensive ... but cheaper than a lot of custom. I think it's Honorable, particularly by negotiating a bit.
I would do this choice without hesitation ... can be a second for another color?

These guitars are made entirely aus United States and assembled by hand.
As its name suggests, is a guitar with 24 frets like a micro HFS treble pickup and a Vintage Bass neck pickup like.
You can choose between two types of switch: a switch positions 3 and 5 in the double coil splitter single, which gives an incredible range of sounds (which is handy when you do have a scratch).
The bridge is a tremolo made in PRS, which is fine, but that has a "race" quite small. It is not possible to use the example Satriani
The knob really lets his play on the saturation and expands the sound spectrum of the beast.
There is still a fairly standard tone knob.
There are several types of heat with different thicknesses, which allows everyone to find their way

UTILIZATION

The neck is super friendly, the finish is amazing.
The guitar is actually quite heavy which is usually a good sign.
Dice the grip, you feel the quality in the fingers.
Do you get a good sound easy?? Uh ... How to say ... There's no other possibilities!
It sounds huge!!

OVERALL OPINION

It's been six months that I have brought this little gem of the United States, and for the world I would not change a guitar.
I play whatever I want with, and I have a sound to rival an Angus Young D lol: D
Top: Plug in a JCM2000 TSL100, and weep ...
The only downside: the price.
I continue to pay every month, but I do not regret for anything that I drool every day ... For I know that I got home, I plug the amp in the small world and I am over the moon D: D

I will not repeat the history of PRS guitars or rpandre me in praise of these wonderful guitars: they are simply gniales.
The finish is exceptional.
The microphone is molten lead!
The bridge is very well PRS Designed and thanks to the blocking of mcaniques agreement is required.

UTILIZATION

The handle is a good autoroute.Trs Access in acute thanks a small heel.
It is not too heavy and can be very easy to play sitting down.
It possde a good balance gnral.

SOUNDS

It is a versatile guitar trs thanks to slecteur rotary 5-position, we get a range of sounds bluesy, vintage and post-amp, big sound thanks to trs HFS position bridge.
I play on an all-tube Peavey 50 212: mgique!
I connect from time to time my pedals BOSS GT-6 for other sounds but the best sound is when I got the branch direct.La power microphones, made in PRS, is impressive (style Di Marzio).

OVERALL OPINION

I possde also a PRS Santana SE that I modified with Seymour Duncan Splitables and I dj t tonn of quality manufacturing of this model Coren.
I possde the Custom 24 for 2 months, a 20 th MODEL Anniversary.Je have bought 2300 euros on new Lyon and I am dingue.Elle color is Black Cherry with the table Saddle Flamm a head in the same color and a beautiful binding in Saddle around the body.
Unlike what is said in a notice Previous, simply "go on the PRS website for a list of the many guitarists who play with and then when fte of music, I t tonn by the number of musicians playing in styles with trs Different.
The only criticism I will respect the rotary slecteur not very practical "live" but it is especially good story to tell.
