The Vypyr 75 is a modeling amp 75Watts. Level connectivity, Front:
-Jack input for guitar
Auxiliary-input to import an electronic metronome or backing track
-Headphone output to listen with headphones (the HP Bypass)

At the rear, there are twelve one can take a strange ... which is simply a MIDI manufacturer (malheuresement. ..) to connect the pedal to the amp Samper, optional.

The amp has a HP 12 "Blue Marvel. Personally it is more than respectable, provide for those who work on land that is not wood or who want more low frequency during their tour in a board Walnut (in the area you prefer) because the event is not at all covered.

UTILIZATION

SOUNDS

I use an Ibanez RG Prestige 2620 equipped with Dimarzio. Clearly intended for the metal, it can be used as a can and other Vintage crunch, the Clean is not too bad but hey, it's not excellent.

Playing Opeth, From experimental and other Satriani, the amp is perfect. Lead channels, even though they may look a all, offers a good definition throughout. The cleans are a bit down personally. But overall, it is generally good.

The amp has two modes of stacking effects, Ormis Reverb and Delay are separated and used simultaneously with the other two effects (and that's pretty good):

A pre-amplifier mode, which simulates a StompBox effects pedal Effect very well transcribed, Auto Wah, Flanger, Phaser, Chorus, Fuzz ... all parameters.

A-mode on top after the simulation of the sound, and therefore much less convincing, except maybe the rotary speaker, and other effects such as Octaver and Pitch Shifter. Be aware that this mode allows to use the effects pedal: Pitch Shifter mode, the pedal can work as an effects pedal. This is also where you will find the Looper.

There are two modifier volume, pre-gain and post gain. Post a gain for refining the main volume knob, which you can quickly break down a drum if you have the misfortune to think once want to test the amp up, ie 13/13 (yes, 13 positions !). The 75 watts you will feel them. I think that 3 / 10 you should easily exceed 80dB in a room of 30m ². No worries about sound to a room or outdoors.

There is also Powerpong function, which simulates more or less a tube amp. It filled his role more or less, I personally put it at 100%, if I fall I find the sound rather flat.

OVERALL OPINION

I've had two years now, and I am sure.

Caution still the default software and pure hardware, such as from the output Headphone sound comes out very average, the ultra annoying bugs that occur randomly and when you turn the amp (stuck on one mode) even though it can often happen.

I tested a micro cube before, but ... wanting more diversity and not having a well defined line at the base, I do not regret the choice.

Plus: The big bank model, the effects of quality StompBox, the Reverb and Delay that are also quality, optional pedal board I strongly Samper.

The least: The software bugs during startup of the same amp, Headphone output, which prohibits more or less recording via computer music jack 3.5 ... out the microphone in front of the amp! Complexity to set the amp at first.

Otherwise, at this price, you'd think that modeling is honorable for an amp. Add to that the effects like Flanger StompBox or phases that are quality and you have an amp / effects with a very good value for money, as long as you want to skip if you do computer music no microphone recorder.

UTILIZATION

For heavy metal sound, this amp is just beautiful!
When I say heavy metal sound I think well on the clean and crunch own such a type of music you can clean with chorus trovuer the magnificent anglique (devilish or ...).

The strength of this amp is the Peavey sound, with its heavy and fat, typical of vintage tube amp, but modern version But the versatility is standard.

OVERALL OPINION

I use this amp for 3 weeks, and frankly it's breathtaking. Before I had a spider in line6, it's nothing to see! ! The VYPYR the surplice on every point: amp simulation and crunchy clean saturated, effect, power and prsence, versatility .. Do not buy line6, even the 4, I heard some dmo is awful with distortion ... Finally, unless really liked the sound cold and tiny transistors.
Exprience with the thousand times I remake this choice, the report is noooorme quality. In the beginners I thought if I buy it, because 280 is a 75 watt amp the price of a low-end, as the spider ... especially since I had nearly 400 budget. its been one month now that I use it and if I had to choose again I would choose the Peavey 6505 + combo plus a Peavey Tube Vypyr 120. before my Marshall, I lived in a house and I had a Marshall JVM 410H 2 head and Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier which I had to separate myself = (sadly.

When it comes to amp modeling I hate the sound of these things. The don't sound real and they don't feel like an actual tube amp. This amp sound just about as close to a real tube as you are going to get. Plus this thing just sound incredible for being a solid state amp. The tone is massive and enormous.

What I like about the Peavey Vypyr is the ability to control 400 presets with the foot switch. Incredible versatility and ability to play on just about any song or genre.

SOUNDS

Just an awesome amplifier. This is a great practice amp and also a solid jamming amp. The tones I get from this amp are so powerful and thick that it makes you want to run out and start recording. I particularly like the 6505 setting, which sounds awesome.

If you are into metal tones and the lead that are fast and huge in the bottom end and midrange then this is a great amplifier for you. I like this amp with a Les Paul or other humbucking style pickup. Since most of these amp models are geared around heavy distortion and grind.

OVERALL OPINION

I would give this amp a rating of 10 if it had a speaker simulator output for direct recording or going direct into the house PA system or mixer. If it had that operation then this would be about the most perfect beginner amp or practice amp.

At new these amps come in at around $300, which is a steal of a price for what this amp can do. I would recommend this amp to anyone who need a goo practice amp or jamming amp then is on sort of a budget. Or if you have kid who wants to learn the guitar than this is a great amp to start out on.

I needed an amp with a simple setup, versatile, easy to transport and a concept all in one m'intresse.
I used to play in groups in bars, night to do so again only for all styles of music.
I use it with an ESP Eclipse with EMG pickups and deluxe ltd micro seymour duncan.
The DIFFERENT sounds that we can have good quality are now missing the heat lamps caractristique amps good but we know when buying this type of amp.
You can go to a clear round or slamming a big distortion drooling
The only downside is the headphones for recording, the sound is too serious and has nothing to do with that sort of HP of the amp, I go through a sound card TC electronic, logic pro 8 and the spring on his Dynaudio speakers and even with BM5A DIFFERENT headphones (AKG, Monster Beat ...).

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 1 week and I must say it is stunning, sounds are clean and of good quality.
For my use in my group doing it again for me because I actually played all styles of music.
Rglage the effects and sounds very simple, you just have to equilibrate at the equa-hop and it went away.
I advise buying the pedal Sanpera I or II (for my part I took II) as change channels without a hand is a little delicately
The principle setup with an amp and a pedal for a while and be able to play everything I needed.
I'm not with my purchase, I buy after you try all the same.
I would do it without hesitating choice to use that if I use for my other group of compounds with a true sound personal identity is not appropriate at all.
