I bought the HPD-15 used six months ago, € 450 for sale (long live the dollar !!!). I wanted to test an electronic percussion instrument oriented. The idea was to introduce ethnic and electronic sounds without the hassle of 2 cubic meters of material.

I'll paraphrase a bit, but:
- What is so special that you like most and least?
+ Sound! Diverse traditional sounds, sound effects and appliances in good order. Incomparable facing the SPD-11 or an Alesis D4!
+ Modularity and controllers: the controller can be assigned to features, will make patches easily (Roland ergonomics ...). D-Beam is a nice gadget. The hold function is quite funny in a HipHop / electro.
+ Sequencer. I have no depth, but to work loops, it's perfect.
+ Dimensions and touch. For a pad, I was amazed by the sensitivity. It's not a Djembe, but 1000 times better than SPD. And it's light and strong at once.

- The new price is scary! (950 €)
- The screen is too small (admittedly already said ...)
- ... And suddenly, it's a bit long to go through the sub menus. It's the same as in the Boss MFX and other Roland machines, but it's a bit laborious.
- Connectivity lightly. I really wanted to have a total of four trigger inputs and an expression pedal and more.
- No tap tempo! against it by, it's a shame
- Traditional drum sounds not so good. In comparison, the TD-3 sounds in this area are much more usable.

- Have you tried many other models before buying it?
I tried the TD-3, SPD-11, D4

- With experience, you do again this choice? ...
At this price, definitely!
