Yamaha 20

Yamaha PS 20Published on 12/02/03 at 15:00
I got this one at a charity shop in Southern California, just like Nick Kirk did in New Zealand. I paid 15 dollars.

This thing is old. It has serial number 20. I tried the online Yamaha serial number finder and it couldn't find it, and the Yamaha tech support and they couldn't look it up. It has a great old finish, it has inlay dots at 5, 7, 10, and 12 frets, and one inlay dot on the bridge. The headstock looks like it was either stamped or had a decal that said YAMAHA Dynamic Guitar, and it is so old it fades into the brown of the finish, where the lettering is smooth compared to the aged finish. At first I thought "firewood" but then I saw no cracks, a really sturdy guitar with...…

At first I thought "firewood" but then I saw no cracks, a really sturdy guitar with a perfect fretboard, round neck that flattens in the middle. Only one slightly tweaked tuning head stem on the D string. I wonder what it has been doing all these years.

Needs two strings. I only got it half an hour ago, and I'm at work so I can't get out to change them.

Solid.

Wow. I guess the collectors missed this one. It is just like Nick Kirk's story from New Zealand.

49 keyboard keys light touch. 4 octaves.

No effect except sustain. No controllers pitch, filter, LFO etc etc ...... Connection "RCA" plug "Headphones."
An integrated HP (poor quality, but good to see the age of the beast).

Music: Organ 1 Organ 2, Trumpet, Strings, Clarinet, Oboe, Harpsichord, Piano, Vibraphone, Accordion. The sounds are not editable.

Unknown to me polyphony. Perhaps looking at the previous opinion.

UTILIZATION

Super easy to use. I got it from my father, so I did not have the manual, but I do not see how it could be used so it is simple.

UTILIZATION

Super easy to use. I got it from my father, so I did not have the manual, but I do not see how it could be used so it is simple.

SOUNDS

The sounds are cheap, but not bad in itself. Yeah, today we leave the things that have nothing to do, but at the time, it had to make a nice buzz.

I like the two organs that are really nice. And if you added a little phaser or flanger, the strings are really cool.
With a tad of reverb and chorus, the piano is not too bad.

The arpeggiator and pre-defined patterns are quite nice but not comparable to what comes out today. You can adjust the tempo and stay "mono or poly bass".

OVERALL OPINION

My father had already in 1985, so I've always been with me.

I like the arpeggiator that without being edited out really friendly sounds (I mean every time the Never ending story of Moroder Limalh) ... Really good sound!

Before the purchase, I had had a Yamaha PSS140 when I was a kid, but it is nothing compared to machines that I currently have.

For 60 euros in a flea market, it may be worth it.

However, I like a lot because it was my father who gave me and it is certain that when I sell my whole musical set-up, it will remain that I keep and this is it ..... But it's the sentimental value that speaks.

- Via a utility Mac / PC? Not
- What is polyphony? ... I do not know the value but must be 10 I think.

UTILIZATION

Configuration gnrale Is it easy? It could not be simpler. I've never had a manual, a four year old child can use it
- The edition of sounds and effects is it easy? You can not add effects.
- The manual is clear and sufficient? ...

SOUNDS

There are only ten votes. The organ and the strings are a nice plutt. The piano is pretty ugly, like all other sounds. You can not put two voices at the same time.

OVERALL OPINION

It is a small keyboard that does not have much voice. The quality of voice is average trs. INTERESTED what is on this keyboard is the automatic accompaniment that provides a low type and a synth lead arpgiateur also arpgi.
Tip: by enabling the automatic accompaniment track without engaging style, there is a real split on the keyboard with his left hand for a low-noise electric space trs.
The keyboard of another GE Trans in the attic of the family home. I started the synth on it. This keyboard is for a child to start plutt tame a keyboard.
In a studio that makes a keyboard with sounds basic supplmentaire we can associate sounds from an instrument much more modern.

UTILIZATION

Using ultra basic ..... See previous opinion

SOUNDS

Ultra sounds cheap is the whole point! I put that opinion for fans of Lo-fi keyboard sounds are usable in this direction but mostly it's the drum that is extra, a real jewels made of thick synthetic sounds punctuated by a scintillating beat and the Analog arpeggiator that turns easily to his left hand on the keyboard which allows a bit of practice to create real rhythmic original game boy or other type with a grain and texture borrowed a TR 808 (it is not so unique is in agreement but there is that).

OVERALL OPINION

In green I have not is my grandfather that it was paying in the 80 years I grew up playing on the keyboard he never wanted to sell. Now the keyboard has disappeared in a combriolage's silly because they do not draw much ....
Brief ideally should be found if there are module drum machine alone without the lead part that is not very interesting.
