Dread classic all solid adirondack table, mahogany body, mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard and bridge, decorative .... simple, even austere, but for half the price of a Guild D40 Bluegrass Jubilee is not going to cry .... delivered in a hard case .... very correct with a certificate of authenticity), but considering what follows is not the bragging ...... they also have the right to be proud

UTILIZATION

Channel nut with a 3/4...c is important, it becomes much more versatile than a normal D 1 11/16
Handle very comfortable, a little round, I like, good glide, good support whatever position the thumb, no problemo! Finishing the edges of nickel frets absolutely, on the other hand I found the frets like a little rectangular shape means it slips but you get used to, benefit much more clean sound with flatter frets.
Very light (compared to my Washburn D82 not to mention the Guild JF30), I am wary indeed a bit and will not attempt to mount a long time .... It is medium strings from the factory in March 2011, we'll let it settle a bit! (It smells good wood ....)

SOUNDS

Impressive power, indeed! I found the Washburn already beefy, but now with the mahogany gives the medium, potato ... and how it is completely new ...
In fact it complements my other remarkably dread Sitka / rosewood which is clearly more oriented strumming and country pure and hard, the wider nut and the power of that Eastman can better address the picking and blues (and the rest is good too!). Overall it reminds me of a Butcher Adi / cocobolo (Alencia goose I think) recently tried 4 times more expensive ....

OVERALL OPINION

Received 10 days ago .... so then notice to complete
I still took a risk by ordering the U.S. without trial indispo possible because in Europe, but considering the price ......... Less than 700 € HT depending on the course of the USD, tax it returns half cheaper than a Guild D40 with the same woods yet ....( I'm a fan of Guild)
The only caveat is today the overall lightness, I'm used to the way tanks Guild, we must see how it all will evolve over time, on the other side if that is what allows it to vibrate better. ....
