« Simple to use »

Novaflash MicroGram M1 is a freeware Subtractive and Analogue synth, that is only compatible with Windows PC computers. I was using this for a short period of time between 2005 and 2006 until I ended up getting board with it. There are no compatibility issues when I was using it on a Windows XP computer, I am not sure how it would run on my new Windows 7 or Vista machines. There could be some serious issues that could make it crash with newer machines though, especially since it didn’t take any drivers to use this software and when it came out, they created it for Windows XP. Not manual was available and no manual was needed to run MicroGram M1.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

The MicroGram M1 runs great , but as I stated I am not sure how it will work on a newer machine, like my quad core Windows 7 PC. Some of the sounds are really good though, I was able to use some of the sounds as low end instruments to give me a vintage sounding baseline in a few of my mixes. It really spark some creativity when using the MicroGram M1.

OVERALL OPINION

My favorite thing about this software is how easy it is to use, it looks complex at first glance but once you start messing around with it you will have no issues and will understand it fast. There are a number of places online you can still download it from today, but I say give it 3 months or so and you will no longer use it. There tends to happen with me a lot when it comes to freeware software. The sound quality is top notch for a freeware synth. I am happy that I stumbled upon this freeware vst on KVR years ago. The question is, will it still work if I put it on my newer computer.
