Easy to use, you can easily find the settings to play clean, especially if you are a beginner

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 2 years, this is my second effect pedal. I love this pedal and I use it primarily as overdrive. On occasion, this is a good buy from € 35 I think depending on the state. I sold it to buy a Tech 21 samsamp Psa 1, but this is a pedal that I could buy one day.

I listened to the demos for this on the boss website it sounded like what I wanted, so i bought it on ebay for $40usd.

This pedal has a lot of variety, you can get a punk rock sound out of it as well as a heavy metal sound. I play both so this was usefull for me. Its built to last.

If your going to use this unit i would suggest getting an octave pedal as well, the bass is pretty weak. Otherwise I love it.

Its Boss, you cannot break it.

I would suggest this to anyone, since it does pretty much every style you could want. Get an octave pedal too though.

I bought this pedal for 10LVL (it's about 17$ or so). I needed a distortion pedal to take to rehearsals and it was cheap, so - nothing to loose. I also read some reviews on the net and found it rather good.

What I like about it is that it has a knob for overdrive / distortion balance. If you need a cleaner, not-so-raw distortion (overdrive), turn the knob lower than 12 o'clock and if you need a distorted tone, turn it all the way up and you have distortion. It has rather "understandable" sound - no huge noise, a li-i-i-ttle hiss maybe.

What i really don't like about this unit is that it doesn't have any bass! You can't get a heavy chop out of it. That's what i really hate about it. No other dislikes.

It's BOSS. If you don't know what BOSS means, read this, if you do - skip this part. BOSS might mean Block Of Stainless Steel, i guess. It doesn't brake, it doesn't rust. It is indistructable peace of metal. You should never worry about quality of Boss products.

Well, it is Boss. Boss has made very many sorts of distortions for all kinds of guitar players. Fat distortion for fat players, thin distortion for thin players. This unit is for thin players then. You won't kill a beast with it, but you might make him fall in love with you, because this unit is light and beautiful.

OVERALL OPINION

was 5 months I use the pedals and I am quite pleased. of the damage that I sent to rpar 2 times (it has given me a new one because there were manufacturing default since I have been a problem in years of use). I chose this because it is quite PDAL polivalente and when I bought it I did not know what style I was playing in particular. If I had the choice again I turn towards a more dedicated pedals to metal.

UTILIZATION

We understand how quickly it works. no problem this level l. against by even when I put a little time to find that its really satisfy me.
-Level: gnral volume. The race is perfectly rgulire throughout the race. A good reserve volume. Enough to get some feedback from prs anytime towards the end of the race.
-Tone: legalization. quite effective between 12 and max. from above the bass is lacking, sorely lacking in punch. the sound loses much of its character.

I've had two days and since my purchase I hack without stopping! trs I am content: for the price it cost me I expected not so much quality to conclude: sounds goods without going up to excellence: it is a species of Swiss Army Knife: Can be used anywhere but the little prs eficacit Reduces! an unbeatable price quality ratio (boss forces) which unfortunately happens a certain coldness of sound. two pedals in one in Ralite and the only one I know who do overdrive and distortion in this price range. SOUND QUALITY

- For me the effects are relatively satisfesant for the price set in this pedal, well, that's not what happens mieu level of sound quality on the market but it remains still to live up to my expectations,
I pence that this pedal does more Sampling of each effect rather than to reproduce them perfectly
- In terms of style of music, do not buy this pedal for playing metal, the Metal-Zone will be much more suited to the application, you can play sounds over Grunge (even if the OD-2 will be much more appropriate) and also to a wider British rock and 70s rock.
- Personally I'm more a fan of the overdrive and distortion rarely used, but I must admit that the mixture of the two is very charming ...

- I use this pedal for about 6 months so I'm starting to get used to it ^ ^
- It is true that to mix the two over the effect is most interesting about this object. Another poitn strong for my taste (but that applies to all other products from BOSS) its strength and build quality! you can jump to the Inrush, it will not move a muscle! impressive!
- I try a lot of other model in the genre but I thought Boss and the only one to offer these two effects in one and the same pedal.
- Level price / quality ratio, I honestly pence there is nothing to say, now level / quality as this .... ca may be poor but not much, I reassured him
- As for the choice I would point out that: I am an amateur, who has not a penny, which rotted with an amp and an overdrive viel who wants these two effects without buying two pedal (which would have cost me 180 euro instead of 85) so even now I do not regret my choice.

SOUND QUALITY

The sounds are excellent.

I use it with an Ibanez SZ520QM.
Amp side I have a Roland Cube-30 (but I will change soon).
I also add a Cry-Baby.

In fact this pedal is the combination of two pedals Boss Overdrive OD-1 and DS-1 distortion.
The overdrive is hot, filthy hair, enough vintage.
The distortion is colder (normal for a distortion ...) and can range, depending on the settings of his nag / punk to something more clean, round, metallic style Satriani (Satch also uses a DS- 1).

SOUND QUALITY

The quality of basic boss.
I use it occasionally on the bass with the disto cot knob and the gain almost to the mini, has given a lightweight crunch that highlights the shot mdiator.
On guitar, overdrive alone is a little rickety (not low) and rough (?), The distortion is only crmeuse or soft, but the main Intrets is shuffled the two that can give rsultats nice (adapting SETTING THE Tone.

UTILIZATION

I use it mainly with a hint of overdrive distortion (this pedal can sound a real kitchen, the kind a hint of spice to add flavor, etc. ..). The resulting sound is quite dirty (I use most often simultaneous channel saturated koch Studiotone my amp, just to bring more heat and scale to the whole, the two marrying perfectly) but still relatively warm, if not to push the distortion, this one is particularly ugly and cold.

Furthermore, adjusting the tone control is quite subtle, because if it fits like a nag, the sound tends to be too sharp and rich media, in contrast, by lowering the minimum, the sound is muffled and unclear. We must therefore take some time to tweak before finding his perspective nickel tone. Once they found that with proper gain is pure happy, sound enough typed post rock / garage / punk (with the dirty side, for my part, I love).

It really is a practical and versatile enough pedal (even though his favorite is the dirty rock, but then it depends on settings) on both the possibilities and combinations it offers. used, it's worth to buy it because it combines two effects in one, and its level will satisfy more of an amateur post-garage-punk-rock. on the other hand, of his own manic and precision go your way as the breath is really obvious. is certainly the only really downside of this pedal, but still not bad night at all, even if this pedal is well suited to my style.

Boss has more pedals that you can shake a stick at. They have pedals for just about every style of music you can think of and every pedal for just any effects you could want to use as well. They have everything and some things can be hit or miss both for effects and overdrives and distortions.

This pedal has the name overdrive and distortion on the front. Many of the Boss pedals have either or but this one does have both. The reason being is that the color control knob is more of a saturation control knob. It isn't necessarily and gain knob but as you increase it it will give you more distortion and less overdrive. You still have a gain control knob and that of course controls the gain. But gain and saturation are two different things as to why I think they have included both names on the box.

SOUND QUALITY

This pedal is a great pedal when running the front of your amp or any an all out distortion box. Like I said in the beginning you ca set your color control knob to either give you distortion or overdrive. The further up the clock wise face of the control the more distortion you would get. As you roll it down or off you get more of and overdrive tone. Both are equally as appealing. They can fit in almost any style of music.

Use this pedal in front of an overdriven amp and you will get a nice booster type pedal and get some great rhythmic and lead tones. It works well in a clean amp too but I find that there is just something missing in a pedal wheres as a good boost will work wonders on your tone.

OVERALL OPINION

The thing I loved most about this pedal was that it did not sound like a pedal but rather natural amp distortion. If you run in into an overdriven amp i does well. I would recommend this pedal to anyone who uses cleaner amps or now overdriven amps who want a lower volume distortion or even slamming the front of your dirty amp. Great pedal!!! At new you can find these pedals for right at around $90. not a bad price for a good sounding and very usable distortion/overdrive pedal.

This is my first distortion pedal, because before I thought that a pedal that could do worse than a distortion of a good amp, and so it does me no good. And now I changed my mind.

I played with for 6 months. This reassured me over my prejudice is that this pedal is very musical. I expected something rather cold and metallic, and not at all. Now I can not do without.

The Boss OS-2 Overdrive/Distortion is exactly what the name of the pedal suggest - an analog distortion and overdrive guitar pedal. It has a 1/4 inch input and a 1/4 inch output and is powered by a nine volt battery or a nine volt power supply. It is not a rackable unit as it is a stomp box.

UTILIZATION

The configuration of the pedal is quite simple. It has four knobs - one for level, one for tone, one for drive, and one for color. Different combinations of the parameters will give you a wide variety of different overdrive tones. The tone is like an EQ, with all the way up being hi, and all the way down being lo. The color knob can either lean towards overdrive or distortion. I don't have a manual, but the pedal is easy enough to figure out that you shouldn't need it.

SOUND QUALITY

The tone and overall sound quality of the Boss OS-2 is about average in my opinion. While there are a few different sounds you can get from this pedal, none blew me away, and a lot of them came off sounding a bit stale and tinny. I have only used this pedal with guitar as it is what I play and is what the pedal is made for, although it is compatible with any instrument you can plug a 1/4 cable into. I like the overdrive type sound more than the distortion, and while the effects from this pedal are usable, they aren't ground breaking and didn't impress me as much as I would have liked.

OVERALL OPINION

I've been using the Boss OS-2 Overdrive/Distortion pedal for about four or five years. However, I don't use it all that often as I'm not a huge fan of it overall. While Boss makes some great pedals and this pedal is built like a brick, the tone quality is about average and I have found some pedals I consider to sound much better than this one. Don't get me wrong, the pedal has a usable overdrive and distortion tone, but I prefer the Boss DS-1 as a distortion and would rather have a Nady TD-1 or a an Ibanez TS-808 for overdrive. The price of this is reasonable, but isn't cheap enough of a difference to make up for the sound quality. I recommend checking this out if you are looking for an overdrive and distortion pedal in one, but this isn't my favorite pedal out there.
