The four I / O interested me and I could not afford to take the era delta66 (with I / O numrique).

I mainly use the delta44 for some plug ins, AudioMulch.

It works just as well in 2000, Linux (with alsa drivers).

My config: PIII800 on CUSL2 with 256 MB of RAM.

UTILIZATION

Installation is no problem for me under Windows. The drivers are stable and long Fully functional (one and a half).

the pannel of rglage is simple to configure, and latency can drop qqs ms without problem as long as the CPU follows.

The ASIO drivers are not updated day long, but it is not ncessaire, as they are fully developed.

I test Nuendo in a hundred tracks in playback with EQ, without loss of sync. (But not I use Nuendo).

A 44.1 khz, 16 bit, I latency honnte trs, which I do not impede, for well-made soft drinks.

OVERALL OPINION

With the exprience, I would do this choice, I think. In this price range, there are not many other models with the same quivlanets fonticnnalits, and especially the same quality of sound / operation.

I bought it to save the BMD of my group (quartet rock guitar-keyboard-bass-drums), I pass normment time looking at the reviews on this full-MODELS types (semi-pro card or entry-level pro) and I ended up choosing it for the following reasons:

- MODEL PCI (I had a Tascam USB and stability in a silent nightmare on my config)
- External box (admittedly it is not long as it says in the notice but the fact Previous whether external fact that the card is not disturbed by noise the the indoor pc)

The M-Audio Delta 44 has a PCI card that connects to your computer, which is connected to a breakout box via a cable.

This is a four input/output sound card. Up to four tracks can be recorded simultaneously to your home PC DAW. With the virtual mixer in your DAW software, multiple tracks can be recorded, you are only limited by the hardware capabilities of your PC. This means overdubs can be recorded with up to four separate tracks at a time.

There are no MIDI facilities on this card. Multiple Delta 44's can be installed onto the computer for more simultaneously recordable tracks, but I haven't had any experience in performing this operation.

UTILIZATION

I use this hardware with Windows XP Service Pack 2 and haven't had any problems. There is some latency, but this is the nature of the beast with digital audio workstation recordings (on of the big reasons why I record mostly analog).

GETTING STARTED

It is a pretty easy, straightforward installation. If you get confused, just refer to the manual. As with any sound card or other hardware installation, there may be compatibility issues, but I had none with my Dell desktop.

OVERALL OPINION

This is an OK sounding card. Much better sounding cards with better sounding digital converters exist, but not really at this price range, and those installations are a bit more complicated. It served its purpose. For my desktop I know have a Delta 1010, which also adds MIDI and SPIDF, a greater number of channels and direct XLR inputs for microphones. If I could go back in time, I probably should have gotten the Delta 1010 instead, because the type of recording I do usually requires more tracks at a time than a mere four. But, for a solo recordist, four tracks may be plenty.

I bought this card because it supports ASIO 2, Cubase, it has more inputs / outputs and has a low latency.
I use it in my home studio for making his voice / instrument or to dub a sound module or synth. I seldom lack of when recording.
My config: P4 3.2 GHZ, ASUS CM, 2GB DDR, 160GB of disk.
I use it with a lamp prampli ART for my condenser microphone with a PODxt, for which the record is as good with this card directly via USB.

UTILIZATION

Installation is very simple. Since I had a dj midi interface M-Audio drivers taient Submitted, so I did not need the CD. All software DTECT no problem associated with the ASIO driver the card is easy!

GETTING STARTED

The drivers are stable. Although sometimes it crashes when I save the south, and it's ASIO does not work anymore (thundering). I then have to restarting the PC to the card with my rutiliser squenceur. The update, which are rare, do not really have this problem solution. But since now I work primarily with real instruments, I use less than the south, and it works like clockwork.
I use it with all my audio software (Cubase, Wavelab, ...).
I walk gnral 24bit, 44kHz, with 256 samples per sample, and the latency of 5ms is almost inaudible ...

OVERALL OPINION

I use this card for the past 4 years. This is convenient for connections to have an external box computer, MMME if once in the studio was not moving. It is well suited what I do, but I regret that she eats too much CPU. I have never had any other, so I can not compare. But if I had the choice again, I think I would look for a card with the same CHARACTERISTICS but more powerful.
However, it remains a good value qualitprix trs (~ 150)

The rack and analog I / O (more than enough for one who does not need S-Pdif/optique/etc worse ...), the jacks for a scratch is sacred. The appearance of strong and serious stuff (rack metal rack compact and cable / PC as big as your thumb). Quality of its nickel output (I put my system to listen twice as hard now ...)
