Easy to install as a plug-in authorization and very "user friendly".
Was first setting the input level. Then you can already apply a distortion to the signal without affecting its dynamics ("pre distortion"). Button "Stereo link" determines whether the level considered for the dynamic part of the effect will be that the sum of the two channels or each channel separately.
Ohmicide is a multi-band effect. Three knobs thus determine the frequency limits of each of the four bands. All the following settings are therefore available for each band separately.
It was initially a noise gate. Then, for the dynamic part, the knob "Shape" which serves particular compressor (it raises low levels without overwriting levels) on one side and the other expander, "Body" determines the intensity the action of "Shape".
Then there are the parameters that affect the distortion itself. There is a choice between 37 algorithms declined in three versions each or 111 types of distortions! Plus: The knob "Alt" changes the color of his and "Bias" adds a DC offset, which gives sound particularly "destroy". Finally "Gain" distortion increases without varying level excessively.
This is followed by a simulation of feedback (or feedback) that can adjust the sensitivity, frequency and the stereo image.
We finally arrived at the party with mixer volume fader and pan, but also a small knob "dry / wet". Never had any problems running or stability on my Mac Pro with Mac OS 10.6.8 and Digital Performer. CPU consumption is very low. A plug-in well designed, so ..

OVERALL OPINION

I owned and used this for a little over three years. I have in my "toolbox" a number of plug-ins distortion quality in D16, Audio Damage, U-He, more a series of small pedals, practice often offered by Digital Performer. But Ohmicide is undoubtedly what is more powerful for this type of effect. First, the multiplicity of algorithms, but also by the available settings. Emphasize the importance of the dynamic part (the knobs "Shape" and "Body") which preserves transients even with a high level of distortion.
Of course, all this is a little more complex to set a small pedal. That is why, taking advantage of times when I had a little time, I prepared presets "types" and as versatile as possible, that I can call when needed, without having to start all over. Often I have only adjust the width of the bands as a function of its start.
Ohmicide is also comfortable in the extreme effects in the saturation soft, just noticeable. For my part, I use it mostly on synth sounds a little tear for them or just give them a little "potato". In fact, I literally rediscovered some of my synths (Absynth as example) teach them a little distortion at Ohmicidienne behind. In practice, I finally have a little small for some algorithms such as "Attractor" (standard) for synths or "Hop" (as standard) for bass. I also sometimes use this effect on the vote.
A word on the generator feedback. I admit that I am fairly served. However, we can draw some pretty interesting by manipulating settings by noon.
But overall, and total Ohmicide is a plug-in that I run often, offering great sounds and I still have not finished making the turn.

OVERALL OPINION

Frankly, it is best to Ohmicide The series Ohm ... kills
So I used a weapon of filters, Eq, distos to get some of my sounds on several tracks and often APRS several bounces, Ohmicide, plug me in one simplifies many tasks.

OVERALL OPINION

I use hp-amp simulations like Guitar Rig or Nigel, or more traditional type as Badbussmojo because the approach is different but it really is THE plug saturation. And it is not limited to that!

We can absolutely decimate the sound and create something completely different.
The concept of multi-band dynamic is terrible. You can not saturate the media, leaving intact the rest of the spectrum, for example.
Feedbacks that are more or less difficult to master, are very good too.

I tried lots of Satus VST and have found none as well and sounding so extreme as him in VST. I am contaminated!

It is like the Sherman Filterbank software.
In any case remember for its ability to mass destruction.

The process of installing Ohm Force's Ohmicide: Melohman wasn't hard at all as it was the same basic process of installing any problem.  Simply engage the file and follow the instructions.  I didn't have any compatiiblity issues or any other problems and was able to use the plug-in in Pro Tools within about five or ten minutes from downloading and installing the plug-in.  While I woudln't say that the interface is complicated, there are a ton of parameters to work with so it did take me a little while to get used to everything going on.  Since it is a distortion plug-in primarily, it has all sorts of ways to distort your signal and then also has four bands of compression that each have both basic dynamic parameters and some non traditional ones.  While I haven't seen the manual, if you are new to compression it would definitely check it out as I'm sure it has a lot to offer about this unique compressor.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

Within the current set up that I have, I'm able to run this plug-in without any problems.  I am running Ohm Force Ohmicide: Melohman on a Mac Book Pro that has a 2.2 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 4 GB of RAM.  I run the plug-in in Pro Tools LE 7.4 that runs with a Digi 002 R audio interface.  I can't say that I have too many complaints about the performance that I getting with this configuration and this plug-in.  However, this plug-in does take up a decent amount of processing power and for me it isn't possible to go crazy with it.  I can probably run four or five of these in a single session within my configuration until it starts to slow things down.


OVERALL OPINION

All in all, I would definitely recommend checking out Ohm Force Ohmicide: Melohman.  It has an overall very cool sound and offers tons and tons of setting controls so the amount of variation you can get in terms of tone is outstanding.  If you buy this plug-in in a bunlde as I did, it is a heck of a deal but it is a good deal on its own as well.  While I'm usually not a fan of digital distortion, Ohm Force has done a great job here in making this work.  I love having so much control over my tone and the ability to get so many awesome and versatile sound within a single plug-in.  I'd definitely recommend taking a look into Ohmicide as it is overall a very cool sounding plug-in...
