    Peavey Rage

    Peavey Rage 108Published on 11/11/02 at 15:00
I bought this amp locally for around $100. I needed a small amp that would be easy to carry around to friends houses to jam with them without lugging a large amp.

I like the size, and the quality of construction. I already owned a larger Peavey amp (Ultra 112) so I knew that Peavey made a reliable product.

I don't like the absence of reverb. The Blazer model with reverb was not in stock at the time, so I got this one. I was in a hurry. That was a mistake. I should have looked around more and listened to more models. After playing with it for about 6 months, I finally traded it in on an Ibanez 15 watt amp with reverb that sounds better. The tone on this amp was not as good. Sounded a bit muffled... not clear, even on the clean channel.

Well constructed, and would probably last a long time. I have owned lots of Peavey products and always liked the reliability. In the end it was the poor tone quality and lack of reverb that made me get rid of this one.

I would buy a different amp. A Kustom or Ibanez or Orange or almost anything but a Rage. Other Peavey amps are very good, but this one is not that great.

    Ebay.com $61.00

Light Small and loud. Great for punk or just regular clean sound. Lightweight and durable. Headphone jack keeps my parents from yelling at me.

No mic input, and limited by the 40 watts to play a show.

    Good quality.

A great beginner amp with great sound. However its not for those who have a big amp and looking for a backup.
