The EPS16 + sampler is a 16-bit 11.16 kHz to 44.64 kHz and has 20 voice polyphony. Its base memory is 1MB and can go to 2 MB Multitimbral 8 votes. It has 2 output jack 6.35, an input sampler, headphone output. With the extension OEX6 we win 6 additional outputs. We backup to disk 3 "5. SCSI is optional. It also has a 16-track sequencer to 160,000 notes. The standard can also be used to empty your synths via sysex to save the data on disk. 8 effects standard of high quality. Many utilities exist on the PC (I do not know about Mac), but are inefficient.

UTILIZATION

SOUNDS

OVERALL OPINION

I use this sampler for 8 years and I always won, as Ensoniq products in general. I have tried many others and frankly it is still valid even if his memory is a little weak and floppy backup system a little cumbersome. I do not regret having bought it (used) because the sound that gives is really nice!

OVERALL OPINION

I use this machine for 5 years and I can not get enough! more potassium is found over most of new affinities and small defects in the machine too ... (Eg sequence) but are easily overcome! overcomes them! and it swings, it grooves, in short, it kills ...

I had used before as a ASR10 which is for me better than the EPS 16 + with its advanced features and more that I was as backward compatibility with the EPS 16 + then saw that in my group there had a ASR10 AND an EPS16 + I went on an EPS16 + (the price as being more inferior than ASR10 lol)
Its uniqueness is its heat, a sound that tape in no time ...
If it'll be I'll repeat the same choice! without hesitation!!
Bought for € 250 at the time I find it a good investment! many are for Akai MPC course features breathtaking but its a very flat and no heat Ensoniq The little trick that is unique to these machines!
Since I invested in an ASR-X and it is also a very good machine!

In short, I highly recommend this machine is not very expensive but are really in the belly!

see the general characteristics of the post from my colleague above! Otherwise, I was fortunate to have purchased the extension with 2 MB and have been up (myself at the time) wearing my SCSI disk drive having given up the ghost.
No publisher Mac cons by a software diskette to transfer to PSE Mac via SCSI (I was at the time a PPC 8100/110).
There is a converter for PC.

Configuration simple and effective.
I am also lucky to have the French manual.

SOUNDS

The sounds are so good that I've never asked any questions about the quality of the converters. Huge dynamic music and effects really.
I managed to save most of my sounds and effects (waveboys. ..) so it rolls on ZIP alone. I use the EPS as multi effect by plugging violin, guitar, voice ... This is my first sampler

OVERALL OPINION

Physical bought by chance without any knowledge of the machine.
I love the simplicity and the musical side. One sample easily and after that experience!
I was very lucky at the time but in the early 90s you could still buy this kind of machine for cheap.

As for me probably because of my experience in electronic gadget I find it very easy to use.
It is simply simple and okey.

Here in nigeria (Africa )we composer in deferent type of languages and genre of music to me from my esperience as a studio Engeneer the tones fare OKEY for what we produce here

I am a eps 16 rack user I dont have any problem or complain about my machine but I just need a favour from you . I've lost my startup diskette and this is making me sad, I wonder if you could help me get one

Sequencing could be a little better. saving beats is a real pain in the butt. love the filters and envelopes. love the keys. the in board effects rule. you can do so much with your sound here. LFO's and everything.

At first it took some time to get used to but as with all equipment it becomes wortth it.

Quality was not so great, had to take it in.

Great. this is one of my favorite sounding samplers of all time.
