- Midi In / Out, Audio out stereo headphone jack, unless you add the optional extension card (8 out)

- No effects but optional, reverb and delay I think.

- No integrated (sampler) sounds, you must either add your sounds by the mean of the disk drive
'm a SCSI, ZIP or CD-R, the zip drive to save your project, not possible to burn CD-R, it just makes office reader bank.

- The sequencer is very good with a swing mode that gives your fishing mix,
the sequencer BAR is very simple with no frills.

UTILIZATION

- It is rather simple to use, I would even say that when you know
well it is very ergonomic (feeling).

- The manual is pretty well translated and simple, because the machine is too.

- The functions are also accessible by buttons leads immediately

SOUNDS

- The sound very good and should only do your sampling
if you do not put enough level in your source it will not be good, for example, also straighten your samples before sampling. Slightly méttalique
but it is minimal, also a level of output that's overkill AKAI.

- The pads are very sensitive unless your MPC 20 years without changing this one.

OVERALL OPINION

- I used two years while I had two.

- The very simple but also very basic feature, good for music
based sample as Hip Hop

- Today is a machine for fans, it must have been used to
appreciate, as many will find it very limited, with PC as Ableton or even some machine that looks like the kind of tools. Also if you want to get yourself one of these machines, think or do if a revision because it is very old.

Is in the squence pattern, a model of its kind ncessite a little grip, but once done is very easy ... the step mode is not practical but is not what you're looking for this type of machine.

UTILIZATION

The configuration can be gnral is easier! Provided you have some knowledge.
Ergonomics is trsrussit, everything is at hand and the manual is explicit trs.

SOUNDS

It's a sampler, the sounds are even DIY! Jai read lower than a sound blaster sounded better! Only a person who has never had a sound blaster can write this is totally wrong, the machine sounds trs plutt clear and neutral, the dynamics are good. The only complaint I can do is a rponse the VLOC not terrible (in pads). The map is avoid EB16, sounds really bad for the price.

OVERALL OPINION

I use this machine since its release, I had bought IMMEDIATE!
This is the concept while one that attracts me the most was the era that machine had no equivalent, the MPC 60 as too limited in memory and much more ch 3000 re. The report quality price of this machine is now excellent, if a c'tait again, I Do not hesitate one second.

Level characteristic is really complete
mixing velocity and sensitivity of the pad s is prime.
on top of that the sound more dynamic sound.
j frankly was a follower of mounting samplitude pro tools and I really controls the practice of my more sensitive to your a musician and that c is prime.

UTILIZATION

Everything is simple if you clear of the usual al PARAMETERS sound as a whole
if everything is complicated when you discover normal!
what would life be if everything was too simple?

SOUNDS

The mpc is great for rap rhythms rnb

n is frankly is not the problem nor the purpose of this machine
s really accessories.
by 8 against the analog sound less because they allow you to output table mix to perfect your sound and really include dynamic effects on your sound card or if you are 8 entry.

UTILIZATION

The party was Pipelines Limited sampler for drum kits it does not like the other samplers to sample all the keyboard (there is a way to put the sample on the 16 pads). So we sample and assign it to a pad.
The game is really well done sequencer which allows to make quick rhythmic

SOUNDS

The sound is a gal that can be fit into it. The filter is very well
The sound effect zero.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 5 years. I went on the 1000
Plus: sequencer, PAD.
The least: the bone-loading disk (or zip) at each boot

Superb sequencer (the best for hip hop beats), super sampler, no effect on the 2000 I, the effects are added with a card but the interest is not.
There is a small program (MPC editor for PC) which is good for the cre Programs and to assign sounds to the pads.
The Mpc 2000 possde of origin:
-16 + 4 MB or 32 MB

Two-output jack (left / right) (except of course if it spares the 8 outputs)

Easier to use is not! in 1 hour there is a way to make hip hop beats sick.

Apparently there is a manual in French. Pdf for the MPC 2000 but I have never found a ducoup I rcupr Manual MPC 2000 XL Franais (the same detail three things prs)

SOUNDS

The sound is warm (it will say more oldskool analog sound)
An example you put the same sounds in Fruityloops style sequencer and the same sounds in the MPC = MPC In adfonce, Pete, grain is superb.
The sound is clear and powerful raliste.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it recently, but no doubt it is used by the largest producer of rap Annes 90/2000 (Premier, Pete Rock, etc ...) is the sound I'm looking for!
This machine is convenient and inexpensive opportunity to (personal I pay 400 euro)
What I like most is the quality and power of sound, sequencer, and the incremented pads.
What I like least is the floppy drive (long live the zip)
At this price I will make the same choice without asking any questions!

If you make hip hop instrumentals c have a MACHINE.

Absolutely, the mpc2000 is the brain of my entire hardware based studio. It has generally been problem free besides the bad lcd screens that akai had built the initial models with that they replaced free of charge. I'm kinda pissed that akai will intentionally hold features and build an entirely new machine (mpc200xl) with those features. But my beef is with akai the company and not the mpc2000, that's my baby.

The mpc2000 is a breeze to learn, the manual is good but just using the machine is the best tutorial. If you make a mistake you can always use the undo button which has multiple levels of undo.

Absolutely, the mpc2000 is like an old steam engine, as long as you give it it's power source it will operate for you just as well as last time you turned it on.

SOUNDS

I think the sound's okay, i've always had issues with the way certain sounds come out at low volumes, certain ambient sounds I have tend to sound hollow. Basically you have to be mindfull of your sound sources cuz the mpc2000 will definitely not color the sound favorably if the sound was iffy to start with. I would like it if the mpc series would have a compression feature that would give extra punch to its drum sounds.....god! would I love that!

OVERALL OPINION

*Sigh*, my mpc has been with me through 4-5 different girlfriends and the mpc is still with me. I've had rough times and then sat down in front of her and made music that really recharged me just listening to it and knowing that I made that on my mpc, just me and her. She's a good machine to have,...definitely

Akai mpc2000xl full of features. It's a midi monster and can control several pieces of gear. The sampler is sketchy. I would refer to it more as a drum sampler more than a fully functional sampler; which it isn't. Use to sequence everything else you have. It can handle it. It's really missing more filters. Timestretching could be better but I primarily use my unit as a drum machine and sequencer. I leave the sound manipulation to my other pieces of gear.

UTILIZATION

I wouldn't suggest this as a first drum machine. If you lack some background knowledge on how to use a drum machine, it's gonna be a tough road for you for a few months. It has a steep learning curve at first. After a while it should come easy though. The manual pretty much sucks overall. Again it makes no sense unless you have atleast a little background knowledge, and even then it still sucks.

I have had my MPC for almost 2 years. I have personally had very little problem with my unit. It has locked up on me before. Probably about 3 or 4 times since I've had it. If you view the unit as you would a computer and save as you go along, it should never pose a problem for you.

SOUNDS

Drums cut through your mix with clarity. It's well known and admitted that the MPC's create some of the best sounding drums in the industry. Only maybe an SP1200 would compete with it. MPC's are the industry standard

OVERALL OPINION

The only way I would trade this unit is if I get an MPC4000. I move forward. Never backwards, ya know?

Right outta the box you can lay down drum tracks. Its got a lot of hidden features not covered in the manual- so it takes a while to master.

Perfect for gigging. Adds live feel to a show.

SOUNDS

Excellent sound and sampling engine. Pro quality all the way.

OVERALL OPINION

This is a great machine for making beats. Get this and a synth or sampler and you're good to go!

The manual is like all manual, dry. Maybe it's me being to eager to read the manual, lol. This machine is a musical monster once you get the controls and features down. The sequencer is very to use and straight forward. Even upgrading the mpc2000 with new hardware addon was a breeze.

I would trust it at a gig. I never had it quit or lock up and I like that. Very dependable. Oyeah, I forgot the LCD Display burn out on me once and I replaced it myself. Minor thing. Only had to call customer support once to order the new display for the mpc2000. I say it went smooth. The display came to $138 with shipping.

SOUNDS

The sound quality is superb. I was able to create some sweet hiphop and house tracks.

OVERALL OPINION

Hell yeah, I love this machine. This machine will always be part of my studio. I learn a lot with this machine and if you are lucky to own any MPC model, than you are ahead. I spent a lot of money on gear that, dont measure to a mpc. Now I am a owner of the mpc4000. Thank God for technology.

I'm still learning something new everyday. i switched from PC production to hardware production and it totally changed my style of producing. ive had my mpc for about a year and i believe i am still improving and learning new tricks

my mpc is second hand and it has crashed on me several times. the SCSI interface is constantly failing and i am now saving my beats on to my PC. my boot disks have been defective even after i create a new one.

SOUNDS

Sound quality is great. good attack and delay. the ability to lower frequency and resonance is great. only thing i with my mpc had is teh filter board.

OVERALL OPINION

I love this machine. the quality of sound and the swing of the mpc made me fall in love. the 16 pads are excellent for drumming and chopping samples.

THE EARLIER LINN MODELS WERE BUILT XTREMELY WELL.. BUT THE LATER MODELS MPC2000-2000XL HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE LCDs..

I AM AN MPBABY! FROM THE MPC60 TO MPC2000XL I'VE HAD A LOVE AFFAIR. THE DRUM JUST BEAT AND THEY HAVE DEPTH AND QUALITY. FROM 12BIT TO 16 BIT THE MPC IS JUST A CLASSIC!
