Variety of Sound and Tokyo Dawn Labs announced the release of their first common plug-in, the free SlickEQ for Mac and Windows.

SlickEQ is designed for mixing and mastering. This three-band equalizer is completed with a high-pass filter with an 18dB/octave slope, and offers four American, British, German and Soviet EQ modes, each offering different EQ curves and behaviors, as well as four Linear, Silky, Mellow and Deep gain stages.

The developers also included an automatic gain compensation option, three “stateful” saturation algorithms and you can choose between stere and sum/difference operating modes.

The SlickEQ GUI features various tools, including Undo/Redo, A/B Comparison, copy/paster, a preset manager and more.

SlickEQ is, for the first time at VOS, available for Windows and Mac OS X in VST2 and AU 32– and 64-bit formats, and its is free. VST3 and AAX formats are also on the way. You can download SlickEQ from www.tokyodawn.net.
