    Fender Princeton Chorus

Fender Princeton ChorusPublished on 04/23/03 at 15:00
I'd wanted this amp for a long time because I'm a sucker for that clean fender tone. I bought it used at Music-go-round in Minneapolis for only $250. The condition was perfect.

It has a great clean tone, plus the chorus for super sweet rhythm playing. It is powerful enough for recording and practice (which is all I use it for) and sounds great with my Fender Jaguar. The controls are clear and easy to use. The chorus works on both channels and has a very nice quality to it. For a solid state it has a nice warm sound.

I hate moving it up and down stairs. But mainly, the distortion channel is useless for more than weak fuzz. I'm looking into adding a nice modeling Amp to my collectio…

It's built well, but I wish it was easier to move around. The knobs are solid and don't jiggle. I never buy an amp with loose knobs (like a crate). Of course it's got the classic fender look, which is nice as well.

Bottom line: If you play jazz or just want a great clean sound for rhythm/experimental sounds this is a great investment. No death metal here kids. Sorry.

I bought this amp from a friend who owns a video store and also carries guitars and accessories. He sold it to me for $250.

It is a durable well constructed quality amp. Its got a killer wide range of tone.
its a wonderful practice/small gig amp.

Its a nice sized amp at about 38 lbs.but it is not much more than a practice amp.I turn the volume up to 5 and worry if the speakers are going to blow.

it is a vey very durable well constructed amp.

its not as good as a crate 2-12 but it is a wonderful amp.

    Pro Sound, paid 409.00

Nice and small for use in the house. good tone and sound at low voulumes. Very good response and great clean sound.

    Nothing so far

pretty good not as good as they used to be.

If you like to play and want a good practice amp and don't have alot of $ to spend on one this is it! I played all the amps under $600 ( crate, line 6, Marshall) and they all sound sterile. This one makes me want to play more on all settings not twist knobs looking for a acceptable sound

To start, I had this amp a long time ago (in the 80's!), So I do not remember all the details, but no one has an opinion post, I wanted to give the mine is always ca ;-)

Stereo amplifier transistors. 2x30W power (it means it develops in stereo 30W, 60W not !!!).
Book with a footswitch 2 contacts for passing on the saturated channel and activate the chorus. 2 Front Input, but sharing the same channel (one can not assign a guitar on the clean channel and the other on the channel saturates).

The amp features a chorus of good quality which is more effective than the amp is stereo!

    UTILIZATION

I do not remember having had a manual with the amp. I must say that its use is very simple! Nothing special in this regard.

I really used this amp at home. When I started playing in groups, power was quickly revealed insufficient and I had to change.

    SOUNDS

The clean sounds are quite beautiful. I remember the sounds were not saturated by great cons. I must say that I changed it to an amp lamps, then necessarily, the distorted sounds have nothing to do! This amp should be compared with other amplifier transistors to be honest, I can not do.

I chose this amp the time to play pop like Dire Straits, Goldman ... I had the time a Start and an Ibanez Roadstar 2. I loved the sound crystal clear that I could get with the stratum. I tried Marshall and Peavy the time, but the sound was more aggressive and I did not try that.

    OVERALL OPINION

I used this amp for several years. He had the advantage of being light weight (compared amp lamps that I bought then!), To have beautiful clean sounds. As against the distorted sounds really left to desire! The Integra was very beautiful chorus.

What changed my amp, is lack of power! A 5 in a shed, we could not hear me! Otherwise I have very fond memories of this amp ...
I do not know the new version they did (based on DSP I think). There was also the time of memory, a more powerful version, but always transistors!

Now I know the sound of the amp lights and it's hard to go back! But as a studio amp, I highly recommend. In addition to the quality of multi effects available on the market today, we should find some beautiful sounds saturated.

    Amp transistor, 2x25w
    HP 2x 10 "
    Reverb, chorus, footswitch
    2 channels
    insertion effect.

    UTILIZATION

Easy to settle, had no manual (anyway if only to tell me that the BASS control adjusts the bass ....)
    the +: Fender Clean sound
    the -: Drive sound Fender

    SOUNDS

A good clear sound, yes, excellent for an amp of this price. Accutronics reverb jumbo (intrusive if we go too far with the volume pot), an eq more effective. The chorus is superb, stereo again, it gives a higher volume despite its moderate power (50w 2x25w is not, dsl).
Cons by the popping sound is BAD. It is for this reason that I sold. I was looking at the time a good distorted sound. But the can…

Cons by the popping sound is BAD. It is for this reason that I sold. I was looking at the time a good distorted sound. But the canal was so crystal clear that it was impossible to use a distortion pedal, it sounded right away "honeycomb". The only way was to use a Sansamp ...
    5 because its so clear 9 / 10 and its saturated 1 / 10

    OVERALL OPINION

I used 2 years and then resold. The Fender clean sound is excellent, the popping sound in addition to being wrong is extremely grateful. Garish, dirty. The price is more moderate. The ideal is to use it only for its clear, and with an A / B box, use another amp for the overdrive sound. It has pkoi again, if I had the means, I would not have sold.

    Transistor, 50 watts.
Effect loop, 2 inputs for guitar ..
Several DSP effects, comes with pedal channels ..
    Excellent ..
The only criticism I will send it to have only loudspeakers 10 "... This substantially alters the sound, the 12" would have given more depth, more bass to the sound ...

    UTILIZATION

    Easy to use and intuitive.
    Amp enough midrange.
In the conventional transistor amplifiers of good quality Fender (different from the standard Fender "FM" marketed nowadays among others)

    SOUNDS

Excellent amp for blues, jazz, pop, soft rock ..
But mostly not metal or punk-rock!

As for sounds distortion, overdrive, ... Well, not really Fender excel in this field. The overdrive is sufficient .. but the distortion is very average ...
It is still possible to get a more aggressive it is possible to think
(Maximum gain and presence ... to minimize) ..
It is possible to increase the corrosive effect by adjusting the treble volume pot .. But the amp has plenty of high frequencies .. it is not necessary to add ...

    OVERALL OPINION

I have this amp for 4 years. It is very good! Very nice clean sound .. In distortion, it is possible to do better, but in overdrive, it is safe ..

I put a note of 8 / 10 (due to the distortion of loudspeakers and 10 "only 12" would have been better), assuming that people who buy Fender amps, not the metal! (In a somewhat caricatured, it's a bit like buying a guitar-hollow body and was expected to play metal with that nag)

Paid $ 400 this Princeton Chorus DSP is very correct.
