    Marshall MG 30DFX

    Marshall MG30DFXPublished on 11/23/04 at 15:00
Got it for $250 at Guitar center
    needed a practice amp,

I LIke playing with the built in fx(reverb'delay'chorus'flange). Its distortion is over the top. The sound of htis amp is better than any other marshall in the MG series.

This amp should come with an included footswitch since it has a footswitch input on the front panel

Very well made, will last about 5- 10 years before going back to a shop for repairs

This amp kicks ass and blows any other amp in this price range out of the water.

Just like everything else I own, I bought this from Mucisian's Friend vis the internet. I coughed up $250 for this amp to go along with my newly aquired Epiphone Elite Les Paul Standard.

First of all the amp looks great. It also doesn't hurt that the Marshall name is so prominenty displayed in white letters on the black background but that's not why I bought it. I must have read hundreds of reviews on small amps and practice amps before I found a consensus on one that sounds good, has great capability and doesn't cost a fortune. So I bought it and I love it. It's small, powerful and loaded with effects like reverb, chorus, delay and flange. I love to plug my CD player into it and jam along…

After six months of use I haven't found anything wrong with mine yet. I use it almost every day and it always delivers.

Although I haven't done anything like take this amp on tour or run over it with a truck, it does feel very sturdy. I do accidently bang it arround once in a while but it doesn't have a mark on it and looks and feels like quality stuff. I get no noise, feedback, pops, hiss or anything but what I want from the sound. All the knobs and switches work well and feel smooth all the way through their range. I tell it the same thing my wife tells me, "You're a great piece of work"!

Wonderful little amp for practicing or intimate performances. The price belies what you can expect from this little honey. It may be the best $250 investment I ever made.

i bought this amp because the amp i orignally got with my guitar was tiny and had very crappy sound. also, i was looking for something that i could use for a long time with a few differnt options. i payed about $350 for it.

this amp is great quality and has great sound. it allows you to get a bright clean tone and also good distortion. the built in effects are cool because it allows you to stretch beyond the bondries of a normal amp and use effects to improve your sound.oh and its LOUD.

built strong, i lug it around with me and so far no damage has been done so that is always a plus haha

overall this is a great amp for the beginner and the advanced. it has great sound and is reliable. and of course it sure doesnt lack ability to be loud.

    Paid: $250 American Currency

    Acquired at: RIT Music North

I bought this Amplifier because i needed an Amp that was portable yet loud.

I liked the Marshall MG30DFX because it had Reverb, Chorus, Flange,

It's a MARSHALL there isnt anything to hate about it.

The amp is built very well and is very strong. it weighs 28 lbs.

Overall the amp is better than whatever the hell u own right now. Because if you have a tube amplifier you are a lucky son of a bitch.

I bought my mg30 dfx from a local store. The number of futures, the high quality sound and the solid structure, is the reasons that I bought this great piece. Nice price for the futures, 285 Euros

I want good sound, and mg30dfx is the amp that gives it. The overdrive channel creates a tube feeling especially with the fdd (Marshall's technology that emulates a valve amp). You can use it for blues with crunchy OD (low gain) or for metal with high "gained" OD. It's NOT dull because of the very good Marshall speaker. Clean channel has a seperate equalizer, without mid frequencies, but you'll soon understand that you don't need them for clean tones. The digital effects are all of good use, and…

Clean channel has a seperate equalizer, without mid frequencies, but you'll soon understand that you don't need them for clean tones. The digital effects are all of good use, and you can hear them in lot of metal, and blues songs. The OD hiss level that it produces is very low even with simple coil, but with good humbucker you got that we call... silence.

A Marshall is a Marshall. You'll like everything on this amp especially if you exeprienced problems with other crappy amplifiers. Although I noticed a buzzing at volumes 5-10 with bass at 10 playing palm riffs. This buzzing comes from the front net-cover which trembles due to the air rumbling that comes form the speaker and produces this buzzing. The net-cover should be made of hard cloth not from plastic :/

Heavy structure gives you the feeling that it can last everything. Although some parts that should be made of steel are plastic lowering the price paid. Sound quality is not affected though. You can say that it's well made and can last many things. But the net-cover matterial SHOULD be less buzzing.

A nice amp that you're gonna like.

I paid £139 from Wavelength Music Sheffield.
I bought it because the sounded better than the others in its price range.

The sound is fantastic. Because of its lack of valves there is no background noise at all. I don't use this live I use it for recording so 30 Watts is plenty enough.
PS. The digital effect gives you the warmth of valves without any of the hassle.
The clean channel is very clean and the overdrive channel is typical Marshall.
The digital effects sound great; reverb, echo, chorus and flanger.

Although the Digital FX control is easy to use there's a great deal of control, having said that it still gets excellent results.

The setup means you can only actually use one effect at a time, i.e. you can't use chorus with reverb or echo.

The construction quality is top notch.

This is everything you'd expect from a great sounding Marshall Amp, excep the price that is.

The only bad things are the weight (can be cumbersome when moving about) and the fact that it makes you want to play your guitar until your fingers bleed.

The amp is as solid as a rock. It's great just to look at. Its a Marshall....NUFF SAID.

If your making a step up from begginer, this amp will give you the versatiliy and punch that you've been longing for. You could spend hours fiddling about with knobs finally getting that song you've practiced sounding the way it should. Its a gem!!!

This amp shreds! everything about it is awesome. there are 2 channels, built in effects and a whole lot more (read other reviews). I love the overdrive channel, it sounds awesome. I play alot of Metal, (Metallica, Pantera, Sepultura etc.) and the distortion suits this perfect. Also i like to just fiddle around with some blues lead, so i just change the settings a little and there you go, a perfect blues distortion. The clean channel is great aswell. If you know the song 'Cemetary Gates' by Pantera, you can just put the clean channel on, kick in the chorus effect and play the intro, then kick in the distortion and shred till your arm falls off. This amp keeps you entertained for hours, and in my opinion, the 30watts is plenty.

There isnt much i dont like about this amp....all i have to do really is get used to using an amp (settings etc.) because ive been playing an ibanez acoustic. (this is my first amp and electric). Oh....the amp doesnt come with a footswitch, that sort of sucks, and also you can only use 1 effect at a time.. oh by the way, i dont think i mentioned the effects (chorus, reverb, flange and delay). one other thing, there is no Master Volume, their are only seperate ones for each channel.

The construction is good...there is no back board though..but i just put my lead and chord in their, so that works out. I dont nknow much else about the quality and construction.

This amp is awesome, and i recommend it to anyone...well maybe not to the people with a hell of alot of money..cuz then i'd recommend Mesa-Boogie's or higher range Marshalls. Anyway..go out and buy it.. its defentally worth them money. You can get pretty much the same amp without built in effects for cheaper...but the effects keep you entertained for longer...and you can try new things.

I havent ventured near about half of a turn of the volume nob in our practise room yet:) Its really sturdy too, you could drop it, its made of real thick wood. It also has this botton you press and its supposed to emulate the sound of a valve amp which is pretty cool, i just leave that switched on the whole time.
But i mostly like just the look of all those nobs and buttons to fiddle with:) (and that marshall logo)

Its advertised as having two footswitchable channels, so i was expecting a footswitch, but you have to buy those separatly i understand, which sucks a bit, theyre quite cheap though i think.
Also you can only use one digital effect at once (so i just leave it on reverb), they had to cut costs somehow i guess, and also no master volume, only one for each channel. These are minor niggles though.

As i said above it seems well made and ive had no problems with it yet. its made of thick wood, and has caps on the corners. All the nobs feel good quality, you can tell if they are cheap and plasticy but these ones arent.

Its a great amp. I got it out of the box when it came in the mail like a kid at Christmas:) I love playing through it and havent stopped practising for a long time now... there are one or two small things but they are no big deal.

    UTILIZATION

Argl easy thanks to the contour button, something for every style has the power of a thirty watt powerful enough. for the manual, the settings are so simple that I am not used, but I look and it is worthy of marshall: simple and very complete, there is even more than we can ask the amp ...... for they rglages indiquen sound is typically a customized .....

    SOUNDS

I play the style rolling stone, telephone, Noir Desir, acdc, without being professional, I find this very polivalant amps, and a little fiddling, there is the sound that goes well, without being the sound of a lamp, it is normal ... not a note has the effect that FDD is very well to magnify the sound ....
I play with a lag with two humbucking, already has the base she spits in his distortion, with the marshall, its going very well

    OVERALL OPINION

I use it for three months, I may have about anything on this amp. yet I had a marshall jcm before that the. it is on, is not even a potato lamp, but for a thirty watt, I find it more than the correct.vu taken, I've seen worse, this is a good amp, the only board give is to try before you buy. j'alucine total when I see some that say what happens at home they were dcu. if they thought he had an amp with a professional sound at this price it's a serious mistake, if an amp has equaled those 230 euro to 3000 euro, that's not ......
it's a great amp for the range, I am very matter and if I had the choice again, I change it .......

The MG30DFX is a small power amp transistor 30W.Cette can play quietly in her room and also allows me to repeat without any problem! No need to push a bottom, just put the volume to 6 or 7 and perfect c .

The MG30DFX is a small power amp transistor 30W.Cette can play quietly in her room and also allows me to repeat without any problem! No need to push a bottom, just put the volume to 6 or 7 and perfect c .

    UTILIZATION

Configuration is very simple! No need to be pro to find something sympa.Pour changes from clean to overdrive just press a small button (not hard!). Only downside, IT There is no adjustable middle, but somehow the abscence is quickly oublier.Le button outline is excellent, it gives versatility suffisante.Il between Cd is a really practical to learn his songs!
The manual is clear but it is not really useful if we know that we must not throw a bucket of water on the amp or the burn (after the manual, your amp will work less well .. ).. The manual configuration of its four small, nice for beginners.

    SOUNDS

The sound! Part essentielle.Tout clean.Il first channel is nice, the treble is well, even sometimes a little too if the setting is wrong fait.Il fulfilled its role, it does not reach the quality of tube amp but it costs less than 300euros! The distortion has now when it is in the style of blues jazz rock or hard rock.Pour the metal can get good sound vague but it is clear that the amp is not for consular ca.Cependant is very convincing at first, then after the use of a pedal is felt (for me after a year ... so there is room)! The outline allows go to the crunch sounds hard rock sounds meaner.
For the solo is great! Can sound with a well-defined acute.
I almost always put the gain between 7 and 10, I find the warmer sound.
Small flat, the buuzzzzzz, no matter if you're not pro!

    OVERALL OPINION

Whatever is said, is a very good little ampli.Certain not find the marshall grain is relatively vrai.En same time when I buy this amp I knew very well that I will not have its a JCM head! Normal you tell me (but that's not the case for everyone believe me!)
Before I try to acquire a line6 30W, a Vox AD30, and a species of dung unnamed 50W but had no medium or acute (it was not a bass amp!)
I prefer the marshall for my taste better now that the line6 and cheaper than the vox!
Maintenan I have a pedal, and that's fine!
I probably do it again this choice, but I'll take the 50 can be for more power in groups even if they should!

    30W transistor.
Everything has been said by my predecessors.

    UTILIZATION

Setup could not be more simple: we lament the absence of a medium to light knob

    SOUNDS

The clean channel is very good, I had a 8280 before, it's not good at the same level but the price is not relative.
The channel is the saturated ben forget impossible to obtain a more or less defined, it is a jam that comes out it looks like nothing has really
if you play with a pedal by the cons it's worth it.
I personally played with a PODxt and deposit ca Well, it reminds me of my 8280 (albeit with less power but good)

I use the for almost a year
everything depends on the use you want to do: if c is to clean the AC will niquel
if you want a good saturation but without investing a ds pedal go your way
If c had to be rebuilt j test may be more stuff.
