This was my first ever amp, I wanted the reverb so I got the blazer not the rage. I played it with my Ibanez. I bought it with my guitar for $650.00, The amp itself was about $125.00.

This amp has some of the best tone for such an inexpensive price, defently worth it, The distortion isn't the best very muddy, but that's ok it's a practice amp only.

well it's only 15 watts, and at very very high volumes can get a bit muddy and bad.

You can't beat the quality i have dropped it used it as a stool, brought it through some extreme temperatures she still worked.

The Peavey Blazer 158 is a cheaper beginner's version of the ever popular Champ amps. This one is actually under the Squire name, which is of course owned by Fender. The big difference between this amp and the real Peavey Blazer is that this one isn't a tube amp but is solid state. It's still 15 watts of power and has a single speaker, which I think is 8" but I'm not 100% sure on this. It's got a single 1/4" input on the front and also a 1/4" headphone output.


UTILIZATION

The make up of the Peavey Blazer 158 is quite simple to understand and follow. If you've ever used an amplifier before, you'll probably have this one under control. The parameters included on the front panel include knobs for gain one and gain two, volume, and then treble, middle, and bass EQ control. That should be self explanatory for all users, so I don't think a manual is a necessity.


SOUNDS

The sound of the Peavey Blazer 158 is a bit uninspiring, as I honestly would not record with this on the level that I'm at right now. It comes off a bit tinny and isn't very full sounding because of the small single speaker and the fact that it's not a tube amp. This is certainly not a replacement for the true Fender Champ, but will be fine for a beginner looking for a small amp to practice with at home.


OVERALL OPINION

While okay for practicing and for beginners, the Peavey Blazer 158 isn't a serious guitar amplifier. If you were to hoping to save a few dollars with this instead of a silver face Fender Champ, I would highly recommend against it. This amp simply isn't in the same ballpark. It's okay for the price and for practicing, but beyond this I wouldn't use it. Great buy!

UTILIZATION

It's a basic amp is great for beginners! Like all bass amp transistors out bad but the sound is clean and pretty! This is a very versatile amp ... But not worth a marshall (I think) but its price is a good amp

I was with beginners, since I have not changed my amp. But I intend achter a tube amp transistor and I do not like is the upper range ...
but if I were advising a transistor amp for beginners and not too expensive I would advise that the

Transistor, 15 watts, good for an apartment or room.
Effects: clean, lead, rverbe.
a headphone output, between a CD and a guitar input.

UTILIZATION

Manuel? What manual? Ah ... the record!
J'm'en'm not used to make ... by rglages pr-indicators (which are good for that matter)
We obtain easily a good sound if you knows about qualization

SOUNDS

C an amp that suits a lot of styles of music: I play rock, hard, blues and punk, and runs well.
I play it with a Yamaha Pacifica 112J.
I have too many dtest rverbe, chewing sound and what comes out is imcomprhensible.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for beginners in March.
I like all the features except the "tackiness" of the look of the amp ...
I tried to drive a little before 95 and there's no picture: p

With xprience and money, I'd pass on a bandit plutt 112. But really a good amp and c pr the excellent beginners.

UTILIZATION

Config trs simple, I know me not at all rglage I mid almost anything, I got a good sound, I liked ...

The manual is short trs, no need to anyway!

SOUNDS

The sound is not bad (it's my first amp since I just spent the electric)

I played with a Cort G254 (very versatile) and I have bcp sound ...

The light is good (I can not find it extraordinary), the distortion is quite nice! (Powerful but I find little prcise)

I play rock / metal with tps tps in blues and this amp suits me well

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 2 weeks

I find it good for its price

I have a Marshall essey MG15CD-R ... The Peavey has a better distortion!

Good K / P, to play in the Room, I recommend ... (AC can not invest too much and then buy a powerful amp + for the group)!

Well that is clear right now is not the time to think to do with black metal
the distortion is a serious lack of power for ca
adequate effect of the pedal is mandatory
but for non-metals there is possibility to get something from this little beast
the clean sound is not too bad but the bass is quite delicate
if you push too much treble it's a screaming (perhaps because of my scratching) a yam RGX420S
a beginner will enjoy for a few years

Unfortunately I can not compare it to other amps in its class because I did not do testing before purchase (it was a gift) but I am not at all disappointed with this amp

UTILIZATION

The manual offers three basic settings, you can perfectly do without all the settings are super simple.
This gives a good sound quickly (in the clear.
It is a powerful amp for 15 watts ... fortunately the headphone jack is here ... to restore calm with neighbors.

SOUNDS

I play with an Ibanez AF75DTOR, it suits me perfectly.
I rather play with different styles and with this amp, j'arrrive to get nice sounds (rock, blues, pop).

Well, for the metal should be avoided ... The distortion lacks punch, and then setting the overdrive sound is not great. Either it is strong and it is not in effect, there are too many or not enough ...
It still manages to solve it but it's not as easy in the clear.

OVERALL OPINION

I use this amp for 6 months, to start (which is my case) I find it a suitable amp.
Easy to adjust, good quality and among the cheapest in the market in this class (110 euros).
I bought this amp mainly for its price ...
With a little more perspective now, rather I will buy a tube amp (well it sure is not the same price ...)

UTILIZATION

It is trs fast start, one branch, and it plays a sound quite satisfactory.

Manuel prcis quite clear.

SOUNDS

We quickly found a good clear sound on the peavey, but it takes a lot nanmoins touch the knobs of the equalizer.

I played it with a Yamaha RGX 121S.

I think it's a good amp to start trs, however, it is not possible to find a suitable saturated. It is impossible to reach to find something sturdy.

I used the Blazer when I started the guitar, and clear sound is good, but the impossibility of finding a saturated "powerful" standards frustrated me! It's a shame!

OVERALL OPINION

I have used for 2 years and a few ..

I knew nothing when I was buying, and urges the seller to me. So, yes the 158 is a Blazer trs good amp to start, but the lead channel is not really folichon ..

Of course, now that I have my Cube 60W with multi purpose and scratching that goes with it, it's easy to shoot the Blazer poor. But let's not forget his strong point, its relatively low price and fairly good performance nonetheless.

but if c'tait again, I am facing a Marshall 15W, a Line6 or better (but more expensive) one that will perfectly Cube 15W our answer in terms of effect, and its saturated clear!

This amp is a pretty basic little practice combo. It's about 15w of power, solid state of course. It's laid out with two channels... clean and drive. They share an EQ of bass, middle, and treble controls. In addition, this amp features an onboard reverb to add a bit of ambiance to the tone. I own it's reverb-less sister the Rage, and I do wish that it had reverb 'cause other than that it sounds great. There's really no other features on the Blazer other than that. There's a 1/4" jack for a CD out and another 1/4" for headphone practice. It's pretty simple and great for a starting player.

UTILIZATION

Getting a decent out of this amp isn't really that difficult overall. The Peavey Transtube stuff tends to sound really good anyway and it does feel slightly more tubelike than a lot of other small amps that claim to be tube emulators. It's laid out with the two channels and they're easy enough to dial in. It's got a shared EQ, but it's not like the controls are that effective with an 8" speaker anyhow. That's the key for a starting guitarist anyway... simple but effective.

SOUNDS

I've tried a few of these amps with various guitars. It sounds exactly the same as the Rage, which I love, but with added reverb. The clean channel is a cool sounding one... sure it's solid state and coming out of a cheap little speaker but it sounds good with a bit of that cool vintage sag that old Fenders have (I know, it sounds crazy). The drive channel goes from great '60s/'70s classic rock tones to some cool convincing modern metal tones. The onboard reverb here gives it a decent ambiance too and makes it sound a little bit bigger than it really is. I'd like to hear this amp through an extension cabinet, but c'est la vie.

OVERALL OPINION

All in all I think the Peavey Blazer is a cool amp for someone starting out. They can be picked up for under $100 used and for what it is it works really well. It doesn't have the features of a Line 6 or the newer Peavey Vypyrs, but it works well enough with a couple core tones. They're pretty neglected and under-appreciated... show one some love!

Sounds very nice and cleans saturation really not bad.
I regret that I could test it with my Start and single coils but the channel is doing well saturated, with a small nasal ts pretty cool.

OVERALL OPINION

I used a decade, until I am forced to because of me sparer between instrument that was becoming increasingly dfectueuse.
To beginners, I sometimes have occasionally move a little jack that grsillement of the poor contact ceases, and then the end I had no sound at all.
From a natural little patient, regardless colrique handyman and I finally push him the head of my guitar into the speaker ...
Needless to say I regret my actions because i was attach this amp, it would be confidential MRIT of someone who could aisment, I guess, the r parry. But hey, I've preserved even when you never know.
Today I played on a small Vox modlisation and some sounds I miss Peavey.
