    Peavey Bandit 112 Solo Series

    Peavey Bandit 112 (Scorpion Speaker)Published on 12/04/03 at 15:00
got this on ebay as a practice amp. I payed $180 for it.

extremly versatile sound. Very strong solid state amp. Nice clear warm tonaility when on clean channel. With the push of a button, you can turn this beast into a chainsaw, very heavy on the distortion, great sound, perfect for those of you into harder rock. def loud enough to play a small club or bar.

the bulk, rather heavy piece of equipment for use as a traveling practice amp.

very solid amp, ive dropped mine several times and its held together well. very high quality amp indeed. You can definately abuse this amp, i wouldnt recommend it though. given proper care this amp will last forever.

great amp for those of you that dont want to shell the money out on tube techonology, but want something that gets loud without sounding muddy.

A very good amp for beginners

    Peavey Bandit 112 (Scorpion Speaker)Published on 02/01/12 at 10:31
Amplification technology (tube, solid state, ...)? Solid-state amp.

    Output power? 80 watts

What connections does it have? It's been 14 years since I had it, so I don't remember any more.

What controls, effects, etc. does it provide? 2 channels with independent EQ and one reverb.

    UTILIZATION

What about the settings? It's very easy! You can see both channels!! Each has it own EQ!! It's very clear.

Is it easy to get a good sound? Personally, from what I recall, the clean channel was very nice and the distortion was also nice but more for rock than metal...Or rather, for metal you had to dial it in like in the old days: Bass set to max, medium to 0 and treble to max LOL

Is the user's manual clear and comprehensive? The manual is very poor!! It only explains how to get a clean and a distorted sound...

    SOUNDS

Does it fit your music style? Back then I played rock

Which guitar, bass or effects do you use? Back then I had a Cort (I can't recall the model), and the zoom 505 for effects

What kind of sounds do you get and which settings do you use ("crystal-clear", "fat", ...)? A good clean sound, with the reverb, it's excellent...with the lead channel I got a fat, grunge-like sound.

    OVERALL OPINION

How long have you been using it? I think I had it two years.

Which feature do you like the most / the least? Good amp to start out. It's powerful and nice for rehearsals.

Did you try any other models before buying this one? No, I had a small 10W amp before...

How would you rate its value for money? For the price, it was an excellent amp!!! It served me well!!!
