I bought this from a local guitar store (Bizarre Guitar) for $635.00.

It is nice and loud, excellent clean tones and the overdrive is great, too. I use a Boss Metal Zone through it and I can get exactly the tone I want out of it.

After a few days it started making a buzzing sound from the fan. I took it back and they said they fixed it, but the day after I got it home it started doing it again, and now it's back with them. I also have a friend who had the same amp and the same problem.

Heavy duty and well built, except for the fan problem with mine.

Putting aside the annoying sound from the fan (it goes away after a couple of minutes), this is a great amp and comes for a great price. I'd definitely recommend it for anyone looking to get their first half stack.

I saw this guitar in many magazines and websites. i was abit low on cash and wanted a good piece of equipment at a good price. while i was at a local guitar store i saw the MG100HDFX head out on display so i decided to give it a try. it had alot of great features and packed quite a punch so i decided to take it. for around $400 this head was a great investment.

This head is amazing. i absoluting loved. it has many different features not only does it have 2 different channels(with footswitch) it also comes with 4 different effects which include, reverb, chorus, flanger, and delay. the MG100HDFX head pack 100 watts of pure marshal power. definetly something worth buying for the guitar player on a tight budget.
whats really great about this head is that it works great with either the MG412 cab or the 1960A cab. another feature it comes equipped with is FDD (frequency dependent dampening) which really changes your tone. digital effect, 2 different channels, cd and headphone inputs make this guitar head a great purchase for any guitarist.

there really isnt anything bad to say about this guitar head. i'd say the only downside is that its a different shade of black from any other marshal amps. but other than that there's really nothing wrong with it.

The MG100HDFX head is a strong head bult to travel. i can honestly say that this head can take quite a beating a still work like brand new. The worksmanship of the head is great. everything down to the last screw is made sure to be in sure perfection.

i personaly love this head. its deffinetly a professional head at a not so professional price.

I bought this head at Guitar Center for 380 dollars. I had to replace it twice but I've always wanted a marshall so i didn't care. The third head works perfectly.

I love the distortion and the clean tones, they're amasing. My old amps dont stand a chance to this one. it sounds awsome with the bass all the way up it brings out the gain and makes a great palm muting sound.It's perfect for any type of music.

I didn't like returning 2 of them but whatever.

It seems durable I hant really been moving it around much so I dont know how it handles on the road but it looks like it should hold up.

BUY THIS ITS MARSHALL AND SUMWHAT AFFORDABLE

i picked this amp up at apple music in portland oregon for $395.00

i love the tone it sounds so much like my old jcm 800 and the built in f/x are just awesome. i use the delay on my solo's everynight. and this thing is so loud it just melts peoples faces. we have been told were the loudest band in portland and i have never had to crank it above half for a show. i dial in my e/q then use the contoure knob to tweak my tone and fine tune the crunch.

well not much really i wish it had a patch to use multiple f/x at the same time to like use some long delay then hit a switch for some short delay but hay i'm just splitting hairs here cause this thing just rocks.

the handle is a bit on the weak side but other than that its built very well and for the price it's just amazing!! if somting happend to it i would deffinatly buy another one. infact if i had the budget to buy anything i wanted i would by 3 full stacks of these!!

Bought the amp brand new for less than $500.00 Canadian at Jimi's Guitar in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
I was looking for a powerfull Head that could deliver "the Marshall Sound" without having to sell my car.
And I had in the basement a speaker cabinet that I acquired 30 years ago, containing 2 X 15" and 2 X 12" speakers that was just waiting. I restored the monster and I wanted to give it a new life.

With 15 knobs and 4 switches, there is plenty of ajusting capacity to keep anybody busy for a while.
I love the Parallel Effects Loop with mix control, but to be honest with you I didn't use my Peavey Pro Fex II much even I plugged it.
The 2 modes on each channel - Clean/Crunch on Clean and OD1/OD2 on Overdrive sound so good that I don't really need any additional FX, exept for my Jimi Hendrix Wah.
This thing has enough power to blow the windows out of the house!

Good things come to those who wait...I'm glad I waited for this Amp! and kept my old stack!
The beauty about this amp is that you get via Marshall's FDD (Frequency Dependent Damping) a perfect sound at any volume even at "1" this thing has feelings! The expensive tube amps can't do that!!!
I sold my Peavey Studio Pro 112 and will never look back....
Now my Marshall MG10CD has a big brother!

UTILIZATION

The configuration is pretty simple which is good because it does not take over when the head is nerv by other things that do not address the way we want.
I think we get too quickly and look for the very same right with that scratch instead of evil ...

SOUNDS

It is ideal for virtually all styles that we have the opportunity to record
Personally I play a Gibson SG Standard and coupling SG / Marshall is proving very ffective even with an entry-Marshall

OVERALL OPINION

I use it mostly in studio but also in concert (more rarely) for almost two years
I have a lot of SSAI MODELS amp (Vox ...) before the eacheter the DEFINITIONS and it is this one that convinced me the most.
The report price is very honest Qualit since may have an amp that can provide the garndes rooms (500/600 persons) without sound for about as 800 or 900 shops uros
With the experience of a studio musician and sound engineer (for our answer has Math62) I do it again without hsiter this choice is also why another MG100 HDFX will be ordered soon for studio ...

UTILIZATION

The configuration is in the classics of the moment with four floors of preamp. But it's pretty simple .. A footswitch to switch between clean / crunch to OD1/OD2 then switchers crane to move from Clean to Crunch and OD1 OD2 .. You see, it's easy.
You can get a pretty good sound quickly, but I recommend the use of effects pedals for use of personal overdrive combined with OD1 and OD2 .. more tube emulator and a good master to 7, although it farts ...
The clean sound is very clean one, but it lacks a bit of output level ... but it's a 100 watts there is provided in the Master Volume.
The user manual is very well done.

SOUNDS

It is well suited to my style, especially since I use a pedal or a GT5Boss Boss GT3.
Guitars Luke1 or Luke2, Musicman Silhouette Special or Gibson Lespaul Customshop.

With crystalline sound effects chorus and stereo delay because I always use two identical heads in stereo on four cabins (that top). As for the sound distortion, I use the GT5Boss. My heads are still in positions MG100 OD2 1, Bass 5, medium A4.5, A4.5 or 4 treble, contour 5, volume 10 preamp, reverb amp 0 or 1.5, master volume between 3 and 8 ..
If you want a more widened, used the clean sound with a Boss DS1 pedal for example ..

OVERALL OPINION

3 years personal studio.
Compared to other amps ... great advantages, Marshall mind for weight and volume of transport rather nice.
Super value for money, there's nothing else on the market in this range.
and I would do the same choice.

UTILIZATION

You plug all, it does everything to gain and 5 and the volumes to 0, you plug up all the FDD. You scratch. it is clean, so good. Then try the crunch. Agreement, Waw. It was directly hack the sound we are trying with little experience.
Come overdrive ... This is Marshall? Hard to go wrong you turn the knobs are arranged, it fucks everything thoroughly, at least, that's all Marshall, I love it! I have the sound I need! I shot very instinctively and without question it off here.
Overdrive 1 and less "metal" that Overdrive 2. But it must be like the fat and heavy overdrive ... It is no distortion of the 'skinny neo-metal'. It's very Rock'n'Roll (so to speak).

In short, Marshall, same transistor does not disappoint!

SOUNDS

I play a lot of jazz, acoustic, and rock (+ / - but hard roll). And guess what style to I took it? Obviously in alliance with the brand is known about how to fall.

Crunch: good, but I lack a volume for the crunch (just a gain)

Channel 2:
OD1: perfect if you like Marshall, a transistor is better than better. Just try to Blind-test to really see the difference but ... Maybe there will he a pretentious at a concert who yelled 'yep transistor is shit! " Perhaps, but frankly, going to a rock concert to say that the sound is not good enough, it's stupid. Because frankly the quality is there (it's not the imitation of Line6's lamp and it crowded). Maybe when I have money and I will do world tours I will buy a tube but hey, 720th for the whole.

OD2: Bah, more gain, I am not a fan but to go for a metal solo battle with friends is fun (I do not need it is it not mind ...)
True, a lot of 'hum' with microphones simple but good is 'normal'. I use a Fender Jaguar. I have the 'Old-hard-rock and roll' (it is this?)

Finally all that to say that Vox AC15 celestion is not bad but too expensive.
Fender Blues Junior and not bad and cheaper, but the timing of the price if you want an overdrive and a chorus.
In addition, the power is there perfect for small concerts because no need to push down as well for larger rooms because no need to go through the sound system.

OVERALL OPINION

I'm happy and then .. Price / quality ratio. I have rarely seen better ...

Even for smaller sizes ... I always advise to start as Marshall even imitating sound tube and the same price compared to the rest. So it's an amp that can go anywhere at home in rehearsal 'or concerts is great!

Very easy to use ... Too bad we do not give me the manual ... There are easily enough to have the sound you want ... except if you're new at this, but after fiddling while traveling!

SOUNDS

It should be quite my style of music, I play blues, rock, hard rock, to heavy and not the country ... The metalheads will be disappointed, they will not find one big enough distortion for metal and more ... normal, it's Overd is used.

I play with a Epiphone Les Paul Z. Wylde signature fitted with a kit emg81/85 (active electronics) and an Epiphone Goth Les Paul series, I use a Overd MXR Zakk Wylde and Dunlop Wah-Wah Z. Wylde ... and it makes really good ... on the other hand I used a Fender (single coil pickups) and it makes it not as well ... especially when playing on the channel ... OD2 I think we should play with the humbucker on this amp head. Before you buy better go try it with his guitar.

I like almost all the sounds of the Marshall head, it is enough to properly adjust knobs ... It is versatile and that's good. Which is a shame is when you starts the crunch channel, there's a volume of his too different from the clean channel (This is the biggest weakness)

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for more than one week ...
I love the Marshall side ... Let me explain ... it has a special sound that is only found in Marshall. I looked for a moment peandant an amp that would not be too "metal" but Heavy ... and each time I fell on all amps lamps expensive ... A lot of people criticize the transistors in Marshall, but I think this is pretty good MG100HDFX (very good quality / price) even though it has some flaws of course! I think saving to buy a Marshall JCM800 later head + cabinet (all lamps) which is the amp of my dreams! but I still think keeping this MG100HDFX to play at home.
If I had the choice again, I will take it without hesitation!

News: (4 Jan 2007) here is a little + a month I use and I really enjoy as always! I find the reverb in excellent against the effects are just right! Anyway anyway I use the chorus, and it occasionally!

in short, I get crystal-clear sound trs petillan on certain note, if you scratch is obtained for a crunch apptissant my faith a lot! disto disto I get in a dry precision, but with the magic of GE7 is obtained easily discover a fat base metal lol!

It is about 8-me I have this amp and it's rare that there is a beautiful day and it is not a heating.

I use a strat amricaine, and frankly the sound is clear trs good.
Its does not bleed, it prcis short, a good clean.
The distortion is a little worse, it's a marshall (Obviously it is not the lamp), which is still drinking but good pedals is no denial <img class="smiley" src="/images/audiofanzine/interface/smileys/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="" />
The crunch is not bad, it gives her a lot hendrix.

OVERALL OPINION

I operate but holds now for 2 months. I cracked it when I clean the Inrush.
I had thought of taking a Vox base, but frankly it is a marshall marshall a lamp or transistor style is unbeatable ..
I do not think I would change for another, it suits me perfectly.
The ratio quality price is excellent, since I had 550 euros to the head and a cabinet to perfectly clean the scne,
play in the studio and home to be.
In short a good amp, as I say it is Marshall, which is worth to be taken if you do not want to pay full price for the lamp.
