[NAMM] New Dunlop Echoplex guitar preamp
Alongside the Echoplex, Dunlop has unveiled several new products for 2014, which it will showcase at the NAMM starting today.
The EP101 Echoplex Preamp recreates the tone of the EP-3 used by the likes of Jimmy Page, Eddie Van Halen and Eric Johnson.
The True bypass preamp is equipped with a Field-effect Transistor (FET) just like the original '60s Echoplex and follows the exact same signal path as the EP-3. Operation couldn't be easier with one single Gain control that allows you to boost the signal up to +11dB, providing a light overdrive at higher settings.
The Echoplex Preamp runs on a 9V battery.
- Max Input Level: -5 dBV
- Max Output Level: +5.5 dBV
- Noise Floor: -95 dBV
- Max Gain: +11 dBV
- Input Impedance: 730 kΩ
- Output Impedance: 55 kΩ
Pricing and availability haven't been disclosed yet, but that should happen soon enough.
