UTILIZATION

Config ultra simple, it was possbile to cut the effect of the lamp and not entirely bnficier amplifier circuit as a class as a simple case of direct effectiveness of bluffing for the bass out a sound and oddly prcis that almost never saturates even if we play slap without change settings.

Works well on vocals with the lamp that adds the necessary heat quil

Ditto for acoustic guitars

SOUND QUALITY

Way for electric guitars and a bad point for between mono
limiting the uses, but hey, that price ....

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 6 months

satisfied given the quality rapprt price (300 euros)

Transistor preamp mono Class A / B (not class A).
Circuit Parallel tube (12AX7 triode 1).
The contribution of the lamp can be adjusted from there, until a saturation important.
Two amplification stages: 1 to 45dB before the lamp circuit and a 15dB after.

the two outputs are used simultaneously, it is possible to "split" a signal with VTB1 (interesting)

Impedance selection switch for the microphone input (50/200 ohm)

UTILIZATION

Complete connectivity. Good point.

I use the input of the lamp rather limited, I do not push the knob to more than 11 hours.
Used sensibly, it's good, it is a smooth sound. But I do not like the pressure, saturation made then no longer very musical.

I used to microphones, in DI for bass, for a signal splitter ...

The display is too small.

Easy to use, manual unnecessary. Bad point for the display (still usable)

SOUND QUALITY

For this price, the sound is OK.
The VTB1 is logically better than the preamps of my Soundcraft M12, but not as good as my SPL Goldmike (less neutral, less broad, less accurate, less defined).

It's hard to define, but I find the sound fairly bright. The contribution of the lamp to smooth this one is "stiff."

Strange to VTB1 I prefer my Goldmike to some sources, note the bass drum with a Shure Beta52A!

In DI, it is fair to good on some sources, but never better.

OVERALL OPINION

I have 2 from a can under a year.

Qualitée price OK.
Rather well built, it air relatively strong for the price range.

It will not replace a high end preamp, but s'acquite its role well, and will advantageously replace a preamp table "home studio".
