Epiphone S-310

Been playing electric for over 40 years in pub covers as well as original bands.
I play guitar + bass.

Musical tastes range from metal/country/blues/alternative/reggae/drum'n'bass.

I've owned 5 Epiphone strat copies which I buy for their necks which are a strat scale length with 22 frets and a Gibson Explorer Headstock.
These guitars were bought online(Ebay type auction)$US80 - $US152.

The neck,tuners, bridge,neck screws are all I keep - the plywood body is discarded for a solid body.

Prefer oriental made bridge tailblock to fatter dimensioned US Fender spec.

Plywood body is thin thru and sounds thin.
Pickups are generally yuck sounding MOSTLY DUE TO neck and middle pickups being mislocated...in the wrong position on the body.To remedy you would need to copy a US made strat pickguard's pickup locations and custom make a new pickguard due to standard US Fender pickguards NOT fitting Epiphone body...!!

Entry level - typical Korean late '80's/early 90's Samick factory quality.Necks prone to twisting,maple fingerbords/medium jumbo frets, great to play even so.
3k ohms output strat pickups 2 good sounds on 5 way switch.
5 way switches not good quality,noisy & needing replacement.500k pots generally ok but sometimes scratchy.
Paint jobs adequate...candy apple red best.Black paint blooms or splits below clear lacquer.

The 22 fret neck and Explorer headstock are the best bits.Also love the Epiphone headstock logo which is usually mother of Pearl or Black.
Quality is typical of Korean entry level guitars from late 80's early 90's.
Recent Chinese Epiphone product blitz's this old stuff,quality wise.
A lot of buyers bought due to Gibson branding.

Made in Korea, easel-type fender on two pivots, mapple neck, I do not know if the pickups are original because it sounds great.
5-way switch (original seems that it is 3).

UTILIZATION

Way round because I do not like mapple sleeves.

SOUNDS

I use it mainly slide, its a little crunchy and bottle neck, I play with a korg PX5D is a guitar for blues.

OVERALL OPINION

I bought it on ebay with a completely disordered nut off, vibrato stretched stop long ago and replaced by mechanical mechanical staggered spertzel guy blocking, I replaced the massive body of vibrato by a bronze replaced potentiometers by 250K 500K because it was all or nothing and gave readjusted the pitch.
The body is plywood but for the price ...
I do not know if the pickups are original but I kept because they sound really good for a guitar of this price.
The hardshell case (I do not know how to say in French ... suitcase?) Is shabby cardboard mache.
Good little guitar that the output is changed back to 300 €.

UTILIZATION

Channel enjoyable, easy Access in acute. Weight is a lightweight wooden body despite trs chelou, such plywood. The sound is good only on the position 2 (between the neck pickup and the middle one) but the position of the trs mic is nice. As t is, the microphone of the bridge is garish and makes trs trs evil. In the treble, it's not fair, especially the 17th APRS box.

SOUNDS

I play mostly jazz, and be pretty good. I manage to have one's pretty hot, but often too serious, so I mad to the max tones, and a password.

OVERALL OPINION

I use this guitar for 4 years or more, because I did not have enough money. I bought it in 1000 francs at the official dealer Paris. Overall, still has a good guitar for the trs prixqu'elle costs. The only default is that the micro slectionneur is superfluous since a single position is playable.

UTILIZATION

The handle is quite enjoyable to take in hand, Access in acute is average .... the handle is screwed.
Difficult to get good sound with this guitar ...
I am thinking of having fun ptits smart buy entry-level guitars and pickups that replace backgrounds with microphones that cost three times the guitar: If you do not want to see you crying in your shower, not even trying.
The guitar is plywood slecteur the microphones DCON cheap and the bridge broke: can not put the springs, I use a tube of UHU glue as a wedge, the worst is that was held.

SOUNDS

The pickups are les ... there's no other word. Larsen and graying galore are among the rpetitions ...
His screaming in distortion,'re better not use the micro acute because it is really the worst of all. The best position is 2.
In position 2, the sound distortion is no more suitable, I advise you to have good pedals and handy to have good rglages long as it is found. Forcmment is not a sound haxxor, but not ashamed either
In his clear is blah, am better have a amp simulator to hide a little.
The pickups are weak people, I advise you not to use such a distortion or even Ibanez Boss Blues because you would trsdu (part if you like the crunch really filthy)
The finish is not terrible, it's really fucking bad ... This "guitar" has only default.

OVERALL OPINION

I bought this hand scratching a friend who has served two years. She loves not the time I feel!
This scratch is really beginners, n'esprez not do a concert with Woodstock.
I have now changed and sold for Cash 50 (how lucky they have not seen the same tube of glue ..)
