To summarize this is a strat "classic" with a maple neck and a body part a three-piece alder, with three U.S. microphones, a set of mechanical gotoh "vintage locking" and a 5-way switch quite a bit particular.

The model is available in two finishes: silver (AF photo) or two-tone sunburst. Note that Fender offers a handle with maple fingerboard on CP50.

I have no complaints about the finish or no frets, but I bought my copy in a store and I have checked the instrument before checkout.

Inside wiring is clean, but remained qq waste sawdust I subsequently removed ...

UTILIZATION

Fairly light guitar ~ 3kg, very nice to work and play without tiring standing!

Channel "old school" V-shaped profile, fairly substantial, but I find extremely enjoyable! Say it is typically the kind of unusual round we love or hate, but can not be ignored.

The action is pretty low and very comfortable playing ...

The selector is unique in the sense that the position 4 (from the bridge) activates the neck and bridge pickups. The "standard" neck pickup position + environment is not available on this model.

However on my copy it is possible to get a 6th position selector starting with 4 and sliding slightly to the three that gives sth approaching the classical position 4 ... I do not know if there is a loose connection in the switch (wiring is clean) or if it is a misuse remains possible other selectors / models ...

The quality of the knobs is very correct. They can not say a lot of variations, however they lack a bit of finesse in the beginning of the race.

Well I'm not a fan of locking tuners "vintage" because I find them inconvenient. But we must admit that they do a good job because the tuning stability is excellent!

To summarize, we are dealing with an extremely comfortable because low light strat, action and taking good agreement ...

SOUNDS

The guitar excels in the funk, the affro the hendrixien blues, reggae, rock, very old school, anything that "slap".

on the other hand hard to get out of the round sounds more "jazzy" ... The bass is still a bit too far back.

As against the sound delivered is very precise and well-defined clear that both saturated. Moreover it has a very nice color "old."

Overall sound quality is excellent but the instrument does not offer a huge versatility.

While the 5 (or 6) positions allow variations but still a bit in the same register.

OVERALL OPINION

Basically we are dealing with an instrument of good quality, light, easy to play and provides incredible sound.

Behind the scenes it is a lack of versatility for the lack of range sound more "round" sound.

This is a guitar that has a true musical identity opposite strat that say "general".

This can be seen as a defect or quality, it depends on what you want ...

Personally I was looking for a more funk-oriented and I must say I am fulfilled, hence the relatively high overall rating guitar!

In a year of intensive use nothing "moved" which seems to confirm the quality of manufacture.

A budget needs and equal choice I would do with your eyes closed.

UTILIZATION

The handle is wider than the current sleeves that does not bother me (strings farther apart) If this is a classic strat.

SOUNDS

The electronics is very low for all the good rock of the 50's to 70's. Beyond the microphones begin to suffer.
I replaced the pickups 57/62 by DiMarzio Hs3 cashing better the distortion (single humbucker format) despite having a lower output level.
After about sustain, it is not huge but satisfying.

OVERALL OPINION

Good quality guitar that has a very good price for the electronic and can serve as a basis for changes. After I think They are still superior in terms of quality wood, we will better sustain but they are twice as expensive then meditate.

I get the guitar thru a friend from a guitar store. I´ve paid $935 for the unit(I´m outside the USA, so is not a bad price at all).
I was looking for a maple fingerboard Strat since I already have an American Floyd Rose Classic Strat (Floyd Rose tremolo, HSS pickup config) and wanted a dose of pure classic Strat sound.
The American is awesome, but with DiMarzio PAF Pro hum and 2 standard single coil (plus the Floyd trem) just can´t be as vintage as I wanted.

The look: the guitar finish is simply awesome. The neck is perfect, no defects at all. The tinted maple neck is a beauty. Mine is two color sunburst and is so well finished that is hard to determine where the wood junctions are (it really looks like 1 piece alder body!!). I would like the Daphne Blue version but I was lucky getting this one, I live in Argentina and many things are unavailable, specially on these bad days we are running; So I´m grateful having this one.
The feel and playability: comfortable "V" shape neck, nice for open chords and phrasing. The maple fingerboard behaves very expresive when finger picking; I just love this. I felt this neck more comfortable than the American Series Strat but if you´re looking for an Ibanez fast neck type then this one is not for you.
The body is maybe smaller than an American Series, very comfortable too.
I think the guitar´s weight is similar to the American Series.
The sound: Ultra ultra clear. Neck PU very SRV likes (not so hot, but close) Mid PU nice David Gilmour sound and Bridge PU with good bite. Neck+Mid PU, airy rhythm sound, very detailed for finger picking and arpeggio executing. Mid+Bridge PU, I liked this blend but can´t get a comparition that depict the sound you get with it.

The noise: all the PU positions have it´s noise dose. No noise cancelling on pos 2&4 at all. Is a little annoying but I believe you can deal with that.
The machine heads aren´t perfectly aligned, is not that bad but I don´t have any other complaints to fill this section.

Maybe I should read all the questions BEFORE I start writing, but for the moment please refer to the "Likes" section to get the info about quality and contruction you´re looking.
Uh, I´ve got something to add: This is a MIM guitar. The quality achieved on this Classic line is very close (if not better in some cases) to the MIA series. I´m serious: I´ve played alternating my American Classic Floyd Rose Series (remember this is an American Special Series) and this ´50s babe for a while and I´ve noticed this: equal quality construction and beautiful tone (while different) on both guitars.
I´ve played some MIA Standard Series (and an ugly "American Traditional" series) that sounded and felt just as ugly as my fat ass.
So the Mexican buddies have a very well done instrument. And for a reasonable price.

I´ve never played a "real" vintage Strat but I guess this guitar must be close to that sound: very clean (while a little noisy on the background) classic guitar.
As you´re suspecting at this stage I liked the guitar a lot.
Highly recommended.

I play one on one with a vox Valvestate wha and distortion JH1.
The handle mapleneck us get a warm and dry ... my personal love.

OVERALL OPINION

I depui the User 2 weeks ... and for the moment that the treat.
I tried several highway and a Southwestern classic!
the classic player 50 is that g favorite! sound and round!
I think it is better than some American Debu-end and are + delivery!
excellent value for money!
The sunburst is very beautiful

2 small desfau: protecttion plate: we say a Smoby! even that of my squier is longer beautiful (just the plate).

and also fret that the primary patent: mine was redone by the seller. easy to remove but tjr chian ken we put a 719 euro ds scratch when I put 10 mm ... Because it kills!

The slecteur is unique in the sense that the position 4 (from the bridge) active pickups the neck and bridge. The standard position mid + neck pickup is not available on the MODEL.

However on my copy it is possible to obtain a position on the 6th slecteur starting from the 4 and 3 to the slippery lgrement giving sth that approaches the classic 4-position ... I do not know if this is a bad contact in the slecteur (the cblage own) or if it is a use that is possible dtourne on other slecteurs / MODELS ...

The quality of the knobs is correct trs. Let's say they let a lot of variations, nanmoins they lack a little finesse in the beginners course.

Well I'm not a fan of vintage mcaniques blocking because I find them impractical. But I must admit they do a good job because the holding of agreement is excellent!

For résumé, one is dealing a strat extremely comfortable because lgre, low action and taking good agreement ...

SOUNDS

Guitar excels in funk, the Affro, hendrixien blues, reggae, rock trs old school, anything that "slap".

Difficult to break through against the sound rounder, more jazzy ... The bass are all the same a bit behind.

By dlivr is against sound and trs trs prcis well Dfine clear that both saturated. In addition there possde a nice color trs "old".

Overall the sound quality is excellent but the instrument does not provide a standard versatility.

Behind the decor is a lack of versatility because the lack of sound palette sounds more "round".

It's a guitar sound possde a true identity of the opposite strat who call themselves "gnralistes".

This can be seen as a default or quality of any dpend what you are looking ...

Personally j'tais looking for a guitar funk plutt East and I must say I'm thrilled to note gnrale enough o leve!

UTILIZATION

handle very pleasant, I noticed a little difficulty qd mm to soar in solos but nothing serious (the U.S. are a little better ... but with a veneer of crappy shit and mechanical)

accuracy of pitch, good performance tuning!

my purchase was motivated by my passion for the blues hendrix, Nirvana punk etc..
So the goal established at 750 euros I could never find better!
The U.S. tried me (1000 euro and more) but it would cost to replace Mecas yet.

OVERALL OPINION

The model we tried to purchase: mustang, jaguar, telecaster, stratos in rosewood or maple for all kinds of price and quality

The price quality ratio is unbeatable, the rival American Fender 1500 euros without problem!

With the experience I also buy an American ahahaha
