Fender Highway One Stratocaster [2006-2011]
This guitar was purchased at Long and Mcquade in calgary for 829.00 canadian dollars.

The setup was perfect, the neck is smooth, silky and well made. the blue saphire finish looks great. The guitar stays in tune very well even with moderate to heavy tremolo use. the guitar sounds great througha tube amp.

can't really find any dislikes. the pickups could have soem extra winds in them to make them hotter and warmer. but you still get vintage tones through a nive old fender tube amp.

flawless. however, it took me a few hours to find the right fit. i always go for feel rather than looks. not all the guitars feel the same, so you have to be meticulous and dilligent to find the right fit for you.

i have many guitars (including a 1955 fender stratocaster which i have now retired). i'm very impressed that fender coudl make a no frills finish guitar and make a high quality instrument. i may even pick up the highway 1 telecaster now.

i got this guitar at matchetts music for £450.i got this guitar because i was getting an upgrade from my squier strat.

where do i start. well the look, mine's blue with a lacquer finish and a rosewood fretboard.i got set up in the shop.i also like the price its an american strat apart from the bridge, but i cant really tell the differance between the sound quality so its not worth paying £200 quid more for a bridge.

this is very minor, but this guitar is very easy to scratch because of the lacquer finish.but this very minor.apart from that no complaints

the construction of this guitar is excellant now we know why fender are number 1 for guitars.the quality is perfect not a single defect anywhere.

BUY tHIS GUITAR.you will not get any better for your money.this is the best guitar i have ever played.

Fender Highway One Stratocaster [2006-2011]
I got this guitar at musician's friend. They had the Cocoa finish overstocked so I got a great deal, only 399.99

Great quality and tone. Made in the USA. The finish looks like it will age very elegantly. Also the finish does not show many fingerprints like some of it's glossier cousins.

Action was a little high and the neck was off just a hair but I took it to my local guitar shop and got it set up quite nicely for around 15$ so I'm sure you could do the same.

Alder body with a laquer finish, translucent maple fretboard (23 frets-medium jumbo), strat single coil pickups

This guitar is great. I was wanting to buy a Fender strat and was looking at some of the asian models. This American beauty just kinda fell in my lap but i'm glad it did. Great value and good ol' Fender quality.

Fender Highway One Stratocaster [2006-2011]
I went to Guitar Center one day and was shocked to see the spaghetti logo (American only) on a beautiful new strat for only $559.00. I've played many American Srats before, and knew right after I picked it up that this wasn't just a cheap version of the American. Five minutes later I threw down the cash and walked out a very happy man.

The neck on this guitar feels great.
It has medium jumbo frets which are my preferred size.
I like being able to see the wood grain under the paint job. I don't care for plastic looking guitars.
The pickups sound great. Alot of twang.

This isn't the most versatile guitar. The pickups are not designed for heavy distortion.
Other than that this guitar is the goods.

The Highway 1 uses a vintage vibrato unit, but I like to keep mine blocked so I couldn't tell you about its performance. Instead of a lacquer finish it uses a coat of glossy paint that lets you see the wood grain underneath. The body is made of Alder. The bridge pickup is very bright and twangy. The middle and neck pickups are a little fatter sounding than vintage pickups. All five settings sound good in their own way. Would be best suited for a bluesy crunch type of sound or for playing in clean. The neck on mine has a maple fingerboard, but I also saw one with a rosewood board. Extremely well built guitar. I also own a Mexican Standard and you can feel the superiority of this guitar right when you pick it up.

I urge anyone thinking about buying a Mexican Standard to save up $200 more and buy the Highway 1. You won't be sorry.

strat'man's review (This content has been automatically translated from French)"Excellent Start 'U.S. vintage look"

Fender Highway One Stratocaster [2006-2011]
That classic:
Alder body and maple neck, ultra matt lacquer end: very fine little less hit against a hard body and nail pops ... the vintage look is coming fast! it's charm and I bought it for: no fear of small scratches and polishes.
The painting reveals the wood grain (very nice)
My model of June 2005 (old model, with a small head, not the head 70), the pickups are more typical vintage with a low output around 6k, models from 2006 are overwound (high output ).
The frets are jumbo mediums (pre 2006 model), so as a standard, the handle is very similar to that of a standard (usa), form C and radius 9.5, fine and pleasant.
The varnish is brushed on the highway, but I Polishe varnish with an auto product to remove scratches, result: it shines now finished with satin ... microphones paint chips left to right it gives him a really authentic vintage look! I love this look!
It has the vintage look but modern playability of a new guitar)

UTILIZATION

Obviously this guitar features a strat 'and has everything a strat ...
What I like most: the handle to fine satin finish, very nice, not sticky at all (nice and fast game).
The guitar is average weight issue, a good strat.
Mechanical hold tuning very well, I fixed the flat against the body of the guitar bridge, I do not use vibrato.

SOUNDS

While I loved the sound of the original pickups, but I have replaced those of standard usa I had and have more clarity and a little more output level for the micro bridge, its a is not converted (I do not want to, I want to keep that strat sound '!), it was already good original, but I prefer the sound of standard microphones usa (I do not see why buy custom shop while those of standard usa sound as good and cost a mouthful of bread used ...)
The sound is very clear, no bass invasive, instead it was the typed his old strat 'snapping (some people find the sound of modern microphones std usa, I really in the spirit of old strat' with slightly more output level, without being too ...).
On my strat 'I love reverse the position of middle pickup and bridge, as I can get sound from the neck pickup + bridge which gives its typical telecaster ... which I like a lot, both to play the blues rhythm & blues funk, reaggae ...
The Greasebucket system that removes treble without adding bass is very useful, I used to use very little knobs on the tone strat 'without Greasebucket, but here I use it more, it does not change bad sound without distorting ...
The guitar really sounds like a very good strat 'with the playability and feel of a great guitar.

OVERALL OPINION

A superb guitar probably see his side climb as new American special have that thick varnish and I think this finish with a very fine polish on the highway gives it a nice look "" in the manner of Road worn ... except there is not a Road worn artificial, but the guitarist who give it its patina ...
I also love the beautiful varnish, but when a Start 'takes shots with a gloss varnish it's ugly quickly, damaged ... with nail very end of the highway it gives one side "roots" in the purest spirit old strat ...
Anyway I love my new guitar ... and the color white blonde is really beautiful (you'd think a version of the 54 Mary Kaye without fittings Gold).
I had a lot of strat '(very nice excursion and low ranges which are sometimes really bad) and it is really a great guitar at unbeatable value for money ...
If you want a strat 'natural vintage look then look no further, now if you like gloss varnish which will give a new look to the guitar even in 20-30Y so forget the highway (unless hanging guitar the wall and not to play ...)
Personally I wanted to buy a guitar and take away his varnish (for a guitar a little "roots") before stumble upon this highway varnish so fine with already some microphones chips varnish but totally new ... I don ' have not hesitated to purchase the guitar was perfectly healthy ...
So for lovers look "vintage" with varnish end, the highway is the real alternative for those who want the U.S. quality without breaking the bank in buying a custom shop ... (if there is the Mexican series Road worn, but personally I do not like too much the idea of buying an artificially aged guitar ...).
The American special is really good, but I would really prefer if it had the classic head (not 70, but I like it) and if it had the varnish as the highway ... Roots!
In short, the highway is a very good guitar (same source) but that does not appeal to everyone, the majority love thick high gloss varnish, it's pretty but it's true ... look for "vintage "The highway is more authentic ...

Fender Highway One Stratocaster [2006-2011]
This is the Highway 1 "upgrade" released in late 2006. The first model, although dja trs good, were not the same hunanimit Fender resellers who were not from some Mexican COMPTITE. The Fender Custom Shop has put his nose and a t relook MODEL microphones changs, namely: - a 70's head, large, and I find pluttrussie rare in brand. - New colors nitrocellulose lacquer finish. New-jumbo frets. - 3 Alnico 3 (3 magnets), with central micro polarity and winding inverss to reduce background noise in position 2 and 4. - Tone Circuit "greasebucket" for neck and bridge pickups (the micro does not have central CONTRL of Tone to keep some shine with zero-Tone.
Otherwise, the bridge was "vintage" 6 anchors with vibrato of the brand.
For my part as I could bnficier left that color with transparent wine rosewood fingerboard is smooth but not trs "flashy" (good 50 banks I will not do in the fluo either: <img class="smiley" src="/images/audiofanzine/interface/smileys/icon_lol.gif" alt="" /> )
. Note that MODEL is the only brand that can get by without left surcoat. Thank you!
The nitro lacquer trs end is very special: it has the advantage of leaving "sounding" the wood more easily and inconvnient of being more fragile. 2 Depuispresque ansque I have this guitar, I can say that this varnish patina beautifully with points of friction, and donnnant INTERESTED nuances and highlighting the grain of wood in a beautiful cherry color much mre ! We may not like this varnish. See you in 20 years ..... a "relic !!???
If not for the rest, the quality of manufacturing is well within the price range, nothing more, nothing less. Remember that this is the Start of US-end 849 euros.

UTILIZATION

Operation is simple, as all the Strat.Tous rglages chevaletsont possible, the strings do not curl.
Purchased in a "Cyberstore" it took tighten all the screws (mcaniques, bridge) for the agreement to hold better.
Restejuste a small tendency to drape out of the middle needle stick, but it can be used to my other guitar or a default of my game! Vibrato is vintage Fender, it's not a Floyd, then do not abuse it, except at the end of the song because it dsaccorde fast guitar. It is not for the Dive bomb is sr!!
. The handle is easy to play

SOUNDS

I have friends holders of American Standard, Deluxe and Signatured'annes diffrent and I must say they have t tonns sounds of bte!
The pickups have all the grain Fender is sr, but they are "explosives", the Custom Shop Bravo!
I now play on Line 6 Spidervalve offering saturations maxis, onesti and really not far from a sound "humbuckers" in the neck position.
APRS, from clean to overdrive through the crunchc'est as fun as it holds up (normal for a Highway!) And shows tural versatility.

OVERALL OPINION

Used for almost two years, I would do this choice.
It's not a Fender US cheap, for sure! You can really s'clater on this guitar, but Gibson will be no sound either!.
Output great fanfare by the brand advertising, it MRIT its success (it's rare that a Fender gives its name ...). MODELS
Now the choice is so vast in the mark (at least for the left) that everyone can find happiness. I wanted a Start, universal (a sound that can only love because it is found in all styles of music), not to ruin me, and I'm not.
A beautiful and good guitar: Do not hesitate!

Fender Highway One Stratocaster [2006-2011]
See previous opinion and the Fender site for the characteristics.
Otherwise I like the varnished wood revealing the (matter of taste), the headstock 70's, but I like a little less mechanical "vintage" but good. Very good finish overall.

UTILIZATION

The handle is going very well for the rest: weight, shape, access to acute, the Standard Start.

SOUNDS

That's the sound of a strat US compared with a standard a little something a bit more, well, can be "nasty" I do not know, yet very warm. I play mainly blues, rock, rhythm n'blue, funk, some jazz on it. Again, this is what is expected of a stratum. And I fully agree with the fact that it takes its full dimension in a good amp.
To summarize, the sound is all good! I actually redouvert the same time the intermediate positions typical strata are excellent and the neck pickup, the sound is not very hot still, not to mention the other positions.
At the store, when I left my purchase initially for a Mexican player classic, 50's or 60's, I do not Savia too, having heard beuacoup well on these models, despite their manufacturing in Mexico. So I tried two models that were not already bad it is true, then the highway, and for me, there was no photo. The sound was rounder and more incisive at the same time, warmer, more what? (And finishing as well), justifying the price difference.
So I have no pressing need to change the pickups, with other microphones in the same range, it's more a matter of taste and quality Intrinsically (in my personal opinion).

OVERALL OPINION

I am very happy with my purchase, even if it is more expensive than I had originally planned to during my intense desire to play again on Start. This guitar seems to justify its price, even if we would have expected anyway, go, fly a rigid box, rather than a cover that comes with!
Finally, it is a guitar pro, no worries.
