Jackson JX10

I bought this guitar at guitar center in burbank il. used for $190.00 with no case.
I got it because the triple jackson custom sey dunc hot rails had great tone.
And i really wasn't interested in getting robbed for all my dough on a guitar that was no better than this except the hefty pricetag. And it was my favorite guitar in guitar center.

It is the best guitar i've ever played.
It looks and sounds great, it's truely everything i wanted my new guitar to be.
I Had a bad experience with my last guitar purchase it wa a dean ml, This is more like what i'm used to which is strat copy with single coils.
I find it has comparable resonance to prs guitars @ $1600.00 Ans similar or better...…

I Had a bad experience with my last guitar purchase it wa a dean ml, This is more like what i'm used to which is strat copy with single coils.
I find it has comparable resonance to prs guitars @ $1600.00 Ans similar or better frequency response to prs pickups it is better than any ibanez i tried easily.
I Think some jackson could compete but the frequency response was overall better with the hot rails than the hums in the other jacksons and the price was right.

It doesn't fit particularly well in many strat copy cases so i couldn't get a molded case or anything i wasn't offered a flight case and they had no custom molded cases therefore it is caseless.

lil wobble in the pups but i guess that is not altogether uncommon is it?
Any ways it's really only minimal; Not a problem.
The flush rocking trem is very cool. It is made with a neck built in india I guess as far as foriegn built guitars go that's not half bad they built it there special because of the neck material i guess too so i think that is alright overall.
tuners are really good, fretboard is quite nice rosewood actually; very cool looking as far as rosewood fretboards go.
I love the thickness of the body quite hefty and quality looking, feels great.

Over all i'd say that any competition on a comparable price range would certainly be decimated. And as far as non price comparable products certainly it is a guitar to be reckoned with.
I would give no design precedence over it with out consideration of the few guitars out there that come with comparable stock pickups! The stock pickups on many expensive guitars find there way into a pile of garbage or on ebay pretty quick but hot rails are famously excellent pickups and these being specially designed jackson exclusive custom hot rails they are comparable in valuability with vintage gretsch or gibson! They are slightly uncommon guitars as well i've found in that they are not on musicians friend so it is definately worth picking one up.
I fell in love with this guitar at the store and had to have it that's when you know its right no ad campaign influence or marketing strategy victimization just excellent playability and sound quality good parts good name and very nice craftmanship from the styling headstock to the well designed dinky style body A+

I use to play guitar regularly but stopped a few years ago and just had an old crappy Strat copy that I never did like laying around, so now that I wanted to start playing again I wanted a decent guitar. Bought this particualr axe from Musicians Friend on-line. As for price ... I shopped all over in walk in stores and on-line and was getting prices from $250.00 to $350.00. Got it at Musicians Friend for $149.00 !!!, and only 12 bucks shipping so no markup on that to cover the outstanding price either!

Whats to say. As good as any guitar I have played costing up to $500.00. Beautiful sound from melodic to thrashing depending on the setting of the triple mini hummers, beautiful...…

Whats to say. As good as any guitar I have played costing up to $500.00. Beautiful sound from melodic to thrashing depending on the setting of the triple mini hummers, beautiful finish (deep red), straight and true as well! Easy to tune, and stays in tune unless I really crank the tremelo hard. The only thing I have changed were the factory strings, other than that I love this guitar just the way it is and at this price it was a steal!

So far I have only good things to say about this guitar.

Excellent fit and finish, nice paint job, very nice feel and sound. Much better than I had hoped for from an import guitar even if it is a Jackson.

My only bitch is the box it was shipped in was less than well protected. Luckily it arrived unscathed and in perfect condition. This is an awsome axe by a great company offered at a great price. Whats not to like?

SSS beginner Jackson

Jackson JX10Published on 08/14/11 at 19:22
This is a very beginner guitar that has some very unknown wood that's not really used in any other guitar out there. It also has below average build quality overall. The guitar has the following specs:

Indian Cedro body
Maple bolt-on neck with rosewood fretboard
24 jumbo frets with dot inlays
Vintage style tremolo
SSS configuration
One volume, one tone
Five way switch

UTILIZATION

This guitar had a slightly twisted neck. If you sight down the neck, you could see it twisting in a few different directions. A truss rod adjustment further showed that it had a slight twist to it. This can be fixed, but it'll take some time and money. The fix for this is more than the guitar itself...…

UTILIZATION

This guitar had a slightly twisted neck. If you sight down the neck, you could see it twisting in a few different directions. A truss rod adjustment further showed that it had a slight twist to it. This can be fixed, but it'll take some time and money. The fix for this is more than the guitar itself costs, so there's no real point in trying to fix the thing. The nut had issues, the frets had issues and the overall guitar was just pretty bad. Keep in mind that other models aren't like this, so yours might be a bit better.

SOUNDS

The pickups in this are very noisy. They're also not really my style. The bridge pickup is very bright. It was piercing to my ears, even with the mystery wood trying to dull the overall tone. The split position is only average at best. The middle pickup is something I never use alone, so I can't really comment on that. The next split position, again, is nothing to write home about. The neck pickup is very dull and doesn't have the output that I tend to go for. A pickup swap isn't even worth it.

OVERALL OPINION

I don't recommend this model at all. It's a very beginner model, and some of these have some serious issues. Mine had a twisted neck, and the fix would have been more than what the guitar itself costs. The pickups in this are also really bad, and the overall build quality just isn't worth your time and money.
