I've been playing guitar as a hobby for around 18 years. I play and listen to anything from the Ventures to Metallica to Montgomery Gentry. If its got a good melody to it, I'll listen to it and learn to play it too.

I purchased this guitar with a hardshell Charvel case in the early 90s from Musician's Friend. I believe I paid around $600 for it. I settled on it after trying numerous other electrics at several music shops and friends' gear.

The neck on this guitar is excellent; very thin with extra jumbo frets. Its double locking Floyd Rose tremolo keeps it in tune. I swapped out the stock pickups and put a Dimarzio Evolution at the bridge, a Seymour Duncan Screamin' Demon in the middle, and A Seymour Duncan Distortion at the neck. I also had a wiring mod done which splits the humbuckers when the pickup selector switch is in the 2nd or 4th position; like some Ibanez guitars do. I can get a very wide range of clear and dirty tones from this guitar enabling it to cover a wide genre of music styles.

I only have 2 things I don't like about this guitar. The finish is impossible to keep clean because I chose black. It shows every finger print and smudge. I spend several minutes cleaning it before putting it away after practice. The other problem is the location of the volume knob. Heavy rhythm playing and riffing will cause your hand to hit the knob and cut the volume down. I'm looking for a push/pull knob that only works when you pull it out from the guitar body to remedy this.

I've been playing this guitar for over 14 years now and it has held up extremely well. The frets and neck in general have required no serious maintenance other than cleaning and changing strings. I can do one of those "80s" whammy bar dives and then hit an open chord and it still stays in tune. I have yet to touch the truss rod. Excellent quality and construction.

I don't think they make this guitar anymore so if ya got one, hang on to it; and if ya find one for sale...buy it.

UTILIZATION

Very enjoyable round.

Access to acute asses easy, despite the large square block in the neck at the junction handle / body.

Very good ergonomics, strato form, heavy weight, a sign of quality wood.

The sound is good, aggressive, rich medium and treble.

The potart volume gene me, I find it too near the bridge.

SOUNDS

- Suits my style of music
- Amps lamp class A and A / B + amplifier transistor

- Crystal clear sound and aggressive, the Jackson pickups are high output, high-mids.

OVERALL OPINION

- I use it for 5 years
- I love the most: Its ease of use
- I like less the volume knob too close to the bridge, and the stem of vibrato: how it is screwed on and off is a disgrace to this type of bridge.
- I tried other models before buying, the price can not get any better (for me), quality / price almost unbeatable
- With experience, I would do that choice for the same price range. I would not have to make that choice since I have been able to acquire a soloist.

Access to acute is very easy.
The ergonomics are excellent, the ideal weight.
The sound is pretty good, since they are the original pickups, the versatility of the microphones is very interesting especially clean sounds that are quite hot and powerful. The saturations are pretty good too! Very versatile guitar for even more to the metal behind.
Just plug in a few effects pedals and you get more than his good, especially on digitech RP6 or a simple pedal metalzone.

SOUNDS

It's a versatile guitar, but for the heavy metal.
Plugged into a Marshall VS100R (hybrid amp with great lights-amp by the way), with an effects pedal digitech RP6 style in his 26 bank, I can assure you that the guitar disconnects everything in its path and its a monster .
With distortion is huge, the passages in clean excellent. Since I always play with my pedals, I do not have to step back from its "normal" without artifice.

OVERALL OPINION

She has 10 years, not a scratch on the ball and always look at.
But it is not equipped with cord lock so that when changing the strings broken, it's really a mess to deal with the tension and fit ideally. This is the only downside of the instrument, he had a (albeit the majority of guitars are equipped with small tension bar that locks the strings). When we tasted this system, we do not understand all the guitars are still not equipped.
I do not remember the price at the time around 3000, I think 3500 francs (450 euros) and the report was super interesting, especially since the guitar left-handed this accabit do not run the streets.
So I would do the same choice with their eyes closed ...

This is the second guitar I buy (10 years ago) and I always ... a Jackson PS4, 24 frets, floyd, an EMG-81 bridge to ... and that's nothing to handle ! a volume control and go!

UTILIZATION

The handle is a highway! Personal I am Mt in 11-52 which does not simplify the access to the treble strings a distance ... but the bottom of the handle ... hmmmm ... the sound is simply huge (EMG-81 )

HUGE with an EMG-81 and Correct ... it's a gr ... cutting a big wish! the metal is the ideal, the versatility to oblivion!

OVERALL OPINION

Ten years I have ten years of total happiness to each grip! I bought a mountain in DKMG 81 and 85 with the body bomb ... well ... it's the versatility ... but nothing to do with the rendering of this little guitar 3000frcs AT THE TIME ! Mr JACKSON THANKS!
