UTILIZATION

To change the sounds can not be simpler, the 40 pots and 20 buttons facilitate things greatly.
But to go further, it is not so simple, the matrices are modulations galre change, the same as step sequencer. Short, simple at first but you have to work APRS manual.

SOUNDS

I have read many positive reviews on the single grain of the Waldorf Q, its presence, the heavy sound that it sounds so vintage.
Wrong.
The sound of metal Q is trs, trs industrial techno. Whatever we do we get not get a JV with water.
As against it is true that in the kind Beaubourg, pure techno, hard trance, there are good sounds. Some ground scalable clenched Leads vangeurs, bass electro destroy enough.
The sound is always a little scrap metal, grimaant, it does not feel like a vintage synths on the West Coast looking at the girls to the beach.
It sounds like a German and a good yellow tin can.

Personally I think this synth is perfect to contrast with plugins for example. Good techno is made of his original and different. The sound of Q is unique as its amazing name ... LOL

A tip, if you just want the sound, buy a Micro Q and editor of SoundTower. For 300 EUR you will have the sound and possibilities of the Waldorf Micro Q are the same (by a polyphony).

OVERALL OPINION

This is a good synth that I pay 600 EUR so I'm out not so bad. For the price worth it. I sold to buy one because it sounds same as Q and that costs 2 times less ...
The metallic sound may be useful, its coldness and its rigor has its place in a studio diversification.
But this is not the kind of machine be the center of a setup. But strangely I buy and sell full of synthesizers, but in my setup I keep a microphone for the Q's ... So have Russian Waldorf print their claws in my studio.
