Yamaha debuts at Musikmesse the new DTX502 electronic drums series, which features three kits and a new MIDI trigger module.
The new Yamaha DTX502 sound module offers 691 drums, percussion and effect sounds, including drums and cymbals samples developed by VST editors. It also features practice functions and songs (8 routines) with a score calculation that allows for controlling the skill progression. Advanced features include cymbal mute, smoother rolls and more natural swells. You’ll be able to record in MIDI format and the USB port allows for controlling VSTi drums and import WAV and MIDI files.
The DTX502 is included with the three new Yamaha DTX-522K, DTX-532K and DTX-562K electronic kits. All the kits feature new pads and a lighter RS502 steel rack. Cymbals feature three zones and a choke function.
Common pads include the XP80 snare, 3 TP70 toms and floor toms, KP65 bass drum and PCY135 ride cymbal. The DTX-522K hi-hats use PCY100 and HH65 pads and a PCY100 crash pad. The DTX-532K and DTX-562K use RHH135 and HS650A hi hat pads with two trigger zones and a PCY135 crash pad.
