Living in Cité U, I can not afford to buy a real amp, so I searched for a solution able to train every day, using my PC (Guitar Pro) while enjoying a good recording capacity.

I have a new PC (AMD Phenom 3 hearts, 2GB RAM, 320GB SD), but I also tested it on a dual-core Intel (I know neither the character.) And a fairly old PC (Intel P4, 1GB RAM)

I use the guitar is a Cort X2 which I changed one of the two microphones for SD SH8 Invader.

UTILIZATION

Well then I'll put the record straight: I have a GREAT sound. Really, I'm the scene of his that I got before, either with other software amp simulation (via a connection to the PC's internal sound card) or via my amp Park (Which certainly does is not of good quality.)

I play Metal, and easily get a sound that suits me: strong, not very precise. (It comes from the Invader that ..)

Level latency nothing to say, I never noticed. No difference when I play on an amp.
POD FARM (Amp Simulation Software included) is really well arranged: the products are well sorted, they quickly come to have the sound you want.

The software is often updated frequently, but since my version suits me perfectly, j'update ever.

GETTING STARTED

Installation without any problem, everything is explained.

After level stability, I had no problem on my desktop PC, but I had a lot of bugs when I tested it on a Laptop: sound sizzled to death (The kind that is meant not that one plays).

I did my little investigation and it would appear that the Pod has a compatibility problem with some laptops equipped with dual-core processors. Do not panic: most still work perfectly with it. I advise you, if you have the opportunity to test the POD STUDIO home front, if you have a laptop like that.

OVERALL OPINION

Overall, although it is certain that this machine can not match the real tube amps and stuff, it changed my life. Now I do galley more for a sound that I like or to sign up!

You plug the guitar, we run the software, and voila, you can play alone!

I use the studio for about a year. The value for money is very good for me. With experience, I would do exactly that choice there.

UTILIZATION

The drivers are stable?
Installation in Snow Leopard was tedious the first time. Now that his driver came with Pod Farm 2 everything is ok.

For now only pod Farm 2, which allows me to work in 64 bits while the 32 was not stable

yes no problem, I do not regret my purchase and I even bought the expansion pack to have more opportunities. The number of modeling and effects pedals is simply amazing. The record is very good, so that we can spend evenings to toy with the miles and configurations rather than playing ..... I finally got a 10aine Set Me and I do not touch more.
it's still a very good Swiss army knife for the guitar on PC / Mac but it will never replace a good tube amp crunch that well. The steering pedals must be done with a padle it without forgetting the other whawha and expression pedals. Anyway nothing will replace my vintage Baby Bry.

I wanted a special USB audio interface for guitar playing on my computer and register. I use Ableton, Guitar Rig, Riffworks and Pod Farm. I have a Samsung R620 15-inch screen with Windows 7, Intel Core 2 Duo P7450, 4GB RAM, ATI 4650 1GB dedicated, and 500 GB hard drive.

UTILIZATION

Installation very simple. Works with no latency ASIO drivers. I wanted to use it especially with Guitar Rig and I downloaded Ableton. But in fact I use many software that came with Pod Farm to play because he is very well made, quite realistic. on the other hand I do not use too Riffworks. And I register again with Guitar Rig. The settings are super simple, just go to sound devices to find the Pod studio recording devices and make necessary adjustments once and for all. The only thing annoying but it does not come from the Pod is that to listen to play with Guitar Rig you have to disable the device in windows and activate it directly into the software each time, but hey we made it . At least with Pod Farm there is plug.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 3 months to play on my computer when I go to register my parents or my home. I hesitated with other cheaper products from Behringer but cheap, or Ik StealthPlug but not support Windows 7. I also had a T-Bone 1G USB is a USB cable that copies the Alesis GuitarLink but offers a poorer sound quality, which is difficult to configure and has no bundled software. In addition, there is a headphone jack on the Pod Studio GX. Purchased 50 Euros hand, I do not regret my purchase, I think it's ideal and most economical way to play the guitar and register on computer. Convinced!
