The M Audio Audiophile USB was purchased for 200 dollars which is a decent price point for this interface, its not over priced but not under priced either. It was a perfect interface for my home set up during the few months that I was using it. The sound that it gave me was pretty good, there really isn’t much to argue about with it. I came across the Audiophile after seeing it in computer maize years ago and decided to give it a shot. it’s a really easy connection to your PC via USB and has 2 pairs of line audio inputs RCA and 2 line audio outputs RCA. The Latency is pretty low, but you can still notice it with the naked ear a little bit. But its not enough to be a deal breaker. I think the Audiophile would be perfect for a beginner because its affordable and will still give you something decent you can start with.

I experienced no updates on drivers while using it, and the latency is minimal. I use the Audiophile USB with Cubase the most and it works great. I only record simple 1 tracks at a time and they are mainly vocals.

OVERALL OPINION

The price of it is what I liked the most, it was affordable and even when I traded back in to Guitar Center they pretty much gave me back 75 percent of what I paid for it which was great because I held its value. I am happy that I chose to use this interface for a short while when I needed to. The quality of sound was very solid for a 200 dollar interface.

I bought this card because I have a desktop and a laptop.
The laptop take so much easier to rp and solutions as Firewire or PCMCIA expensive (for a budget like mine), I chose this card.
The vboitier looks super tough for the raw, should go ...
Usage: Mainly to make the recording bass voice, and especially to run with less latency vsti my SB128 (23 ms lol)

Config panel of audiophile may be too minimalist my taste, especially in terms of latency: SETTING THE frquences the 16/24, latency Very High / High / Medium / Low / Very Low (no r tings buffer or anything ...) and activation of diffrent between terminals ... possibility to enable DTS output Numrique.

Before, I used ACID Pro 4.0 (because of my SB128, who was not even test Cubase) ... Now cubase .... no problem for testing startup ... Correct latency (10-15ms) for the USB (16/44), I expected worse ... sincrement the VSTi are super playable, no lag problem experienced (I'm not a great concert pianist).
on the other hand, sometimes dcroche the map, as if the buffer full silent ... especially on large type SampleTank VST & co. The SP1 was good, but still happens ... So, reboot required ... if you overload it with a dozen large VST has gnral follows ...
So, taking big head to find the best combination of settings for a running properly in Cubase SX. Take at least one or two hours to find what runs best depending on your config.
I've been running more than 11 audio tracks, plus 3 VSTi, no cracking, no jumps .. on the other hand, if you overload VSTi, hurt ...
With the VSTi Host brainspawn as strong, there's no problem, more than two hours in a row ...

OVERALL OPINION

I've had a year I find the report quality discount. The sound is good no background noise and prampli headphone is super quiet even at the bottom. I am still a nomad. It is on a missing micro prampli line quality and direct monitoring for completeness. But the price is.

I am home studio for 5 years and the M Audio Audiophile USB sound card was my first.
Previously I worked only on a Korg Triton and a console Berhinger.
Last year I wanted to introduce me to computer music, so I bought a Toshiba Satellite (DD 40Go/512 MB Ram and 2.3GHz) and the famous Audiophile USB.
At that time, I knew nothing about either the MIDI or the PC except for Word and Excel.

The result was immediate after 1 month of tinkering, I realized how it was now "easy" to compose music using a PC.
All I did with real machines (ie expensive) was feasible in two times faster with a budjet correct.

UTILIZATION

No problem installing the card and comes with adapted versions of Live and Reason. (Better than the demo version)
Basically, this sound card is perfect (considering the price) to any person who engages in computer music. The two black points are the absence of pre-amplifier integrated and latency (the GST between the arrival of the incoming signal into the sound card, and he who enters the PC) which amounts to at least 4ms.
It's a little too in my opinion especially if you want to play fast and precise rhythmic time.

I use Logic Audio 5 for PC for recording and mastering. The composition, I did in Reason, which for me is the best software for computer music room rate.
Input and output levels, the Audiophile USB is a bit limited.
Indeed its two inputs and outputs often involve phase plug and unplug if you want to record several different sources.

In short, a great product for a good start in the world of Music, I suggest for the budget.

Before buying it, I had never tried anything else, so I learned everything always alone and I'm doing very well. I bought it almost 2 years ago and I use it every day even though I have proposed to move to Mac soon.

I use it in my home studio to replace my Delta Audiophile 24/96
I was just fed up with the PCI

I already have a Midiman 4X4, a mixer behringer 1204 pro, a roland jp 8080 and tons of plugins

UTILIZATION

Installation is no problem
we downloaded the latest driver
before you install it uninstall the old software basic audio .... sold with the pc
Then we install driver download
reboot it and voila it works of the atomic bomb
no compatibility issues and general config is easy
not need the manual it's no use at all

I use the latest version of Logic is in the pc version 5.5.1 platinum platinum
no problem either with Nuendo and Cubase
no problem of latency

All dabord I chose the M-Audio Audiophile USB PCI cards because with parasites often given to the powersupply too hard or bad point mass. (Ground). also for the price I had for this unit usb. I use this card to listen to music and making music through software like Cubase VST, Live 4, Fl Studio and personal registration as a digital mixer or a turntable. Here are my config below

The installation of my USB audio unit is held very well without the CD supplied in the box I download the latest drivers from m-audio.com. no problem of incompatibility. the configuration of the card is made only be restarted for the changes. but that's ok. The instruction manual is useless for me by not even watching jai coverage only ..

The drivers on my machinne are very stable for I am with asio in on my audio creation software such as traktor dj studio guitar rig, or whatever. for the updates I have no idea but it should. software are often jOperation traktor studio 2.5 Can Fl Studio .. for latance with Fl studio is really direct way I do not latance. over the little latance be configured in the module m-audio software. for the record I have not tested tracks simultaneously.

OVERALL OPINION

Jai m-audio audiophile usb jai few days ago and had time to test everything except the recording simultaneously. I love the sound this unit and most of RELIABLE machinne up now for my personal use this card is really good. more before I change the type of sound card I had some audigy really not comparable. side and it's great money and I would do the same choice without hesitation.!
