USE

it was here that I had trouble! in the first lot of crunches ... it took me a long time to understand that it came from the driver, it is perfectly stable if your system is fixed, if you dbrancher then reconnect, the start trouble.

Much has already been said about this card but it is mainly for the view that overall I am writing this review because I want to share my usage a bit apart for whoever wants to.

Cheap occas.

Very easy to use
PC XP. behind a small personal mixer for the "all comers" but with a console pro borrowing for records that require miking much better.

UTILIZATION

I record two tracks left and right
never planted to date
I use free software that suit me very well.
I also have a eom version of Cubase that is doing pretty well whatever it was hard to configure the monitoring; due to my inexperience with this product, but not serious I'm not a pro (Fast Track, for that matter although it is marked above).

GETTING STARTED

Very easy installation. it worked the first time!

As the PC allocated to music and only music (or word or other games or even internet etc ...) is still on XP for a while everything is fine for installation.

OVERALL OPINION

I ½ for 1 year.
I worked a bit with a Tascam U.S. 122 Not much to say very very bad about it.; but nothing special either. I was in the entry level. And I got my money. And I'm still with FTP but there is a little more than the others did not.

One day on a record, I arrived at the edge preamps. I want to express here is that the sound was not as good as I expected. Since listening to a stereo set pretty decent (I will not do here to the measures that we do not hear in the ear), but realizes no misconception local guru from polluting our appreciation there has a something indefinable missing. And it is certainly not because of 220v cords of all only a few malignant imagining that putting the price of a solitaire it will change something. Duh! Yet in this thing there still has "commerçeux" who still rubbing their hands.

After much research and considering my budget, I was advised to a Fast Track Pro.
Not that the preamps are better. They are the same as in most of these good materials markets mediocre.

Of course if you can afford to buy you these consoles that cost an arm with real good preamp., I doubt that you came to visit the forum and review the Fast Track Pro. And you is not even reading all this.
So just for that subtle little sound card features I put a good score.
It helps if you find the ad hoc gear upstream to record a very nice thing to listen.
Otherwise the rest for the "all comers" zic oxen between friends who are laughing well and that will never see the top 50; or even the top 500 who do not have a budget stretch to infinity then there is this card very well.
I even posted a forum to ask if qq'un knew install both in parallel to record four tracks. but no response to date.

I use Ableton Live 9 (not supplied, the version delivered is a Lite version) and Logic Pro 9 with no stability problems.

the +: Sound card solid and robust.
the - Go to nitpick: non-slip rubber that does not serve a great thing when you have more than 2 microphones cables connected to the front panel.

Given the number of inputs and outputs of different settings and monitoring through headphones, it is difficult to blame something for this interface.
I record electric guitars through either a head Blackstar H5R, itself connected to both inputs, either by transplanting the amps via a micro studio. The second solution is still far superior. The first solution has the advantage of the ease and speed of implementation. On my setup, I found absolutely no latency problem.

Driver stable under Windows Seven 64. In fact, I never met any problems. I use ProTool MP9, which was bundled with the interface, this software is fine with me and he can do everything from the start. Still, I acquired what plug-in thereafter.

Quality is at the rendezvous, total ease of use, my opinion can only be very positive. A 149 € with ProoTools MP9, I think this is a bundle on quality / price unbeatable. The brand has, rightly, an excellent reputation, so we do not risk anything.
With hindsight and experience, I would choose today for a model with 4 inputs but while staying at M-Audio.

Strength:
The stability of my Systm with this card (never had a crack). The quality of sound just is hot, powerful and the music is very well restored. Nothing to do with my old Tascam us122 ... And then of course the price: it was almost a pro gear priced entry-level!

Weakness:
Headset button, Output Mix and a little tight for me especially gene for use in live (I'm looking for the really small default) but not easy to put all this ds one card of this size.

This card is really the compromise that I had between sound quality and ease of dplacement. Everything fits in a bag (pc + sound card). To advise all the nomads of the computer music.

This sound card is excellent!
Connection fairly simple, but be careful to have Windows XP SP2 before you buy! If you have the SP1 will not want your PC to activate it.
But if the sound card is very easy to use, personally I use it with Cubase SX and the result is very good for the moment I record with an SM58 (dynamic)
and no wind, the sound is very good, but I sound more precise soon as I receive a SC-400 from Thomann.
So I use to make recordings with many tracks.
It is practical in terms of connections, it has only 4 jacks, but it is not complicated to change insrument or add a microphone, so the fact that there have not much inputs and outputs is not very important.
Really I am very satisfied with this audio interface, which is more portable, it is very small, dainty and can be transported for use as prampli or as mini mixer.
I advise all people who want to make quality recordings without having to spend too much.
