Mekelo [Funkysushi]_en

Dubmaker and machine-man ina band called Funkysushi, Mekelo offers a wide variety of dub productions. After a few years spent singing in a reggae band in Lille (I-Five), Mekelo finally found his way as a dub producer , as a solo artist. His first maxi, "welcome in dubland" (2001), remains close to the roots-reggae influence of his Jamaican masters (Lee Perry and King Tubby, Scientist, Prince Jammy) and still leaves place for a possible song. The experience inspired him to deepen his knowledge and he spent several months studying in the studio, while multiplying productions, including reggae and hip-hop, into the Cool2source crew. A sound research that leads him back to his roots dub influences, and on the stage with FUNKYSUSHI. The mixture will eventually give a dub electronica in line with the novo French dub mood, and refocus its work component on the line bass drum-skank, melodica, and the effects (delay, reverb, flanger, etc.), good disciple of Mad Professor and other Bullwackie.
