    Not usable

EastWest Quantum Leap PianosPublished on 08/12/11 at 19:02
The piano sounds have lovely tone, but the samples aren't consistent across the keys. It is almost as if the soft pedal are being pushed for some notes. Very annoying to play live! I also found all kinds of glitches playing back midi tracks that had been recorded using other piano software. EastWest technical support was all but nonexistent. Even though I've been happy with other EastWest software in the past, I quickly realized that this program was pretty worthless. I was beginning to think that I'd never be happy with piano software, when I tried Ivory Italian Grand II. I absolutely love it! I would STRONGLY recommend Ivory over EastWest.

Huge disappointment after being captivated by the demos, the technical description, the ambition of the project ...

The samples sound like old pianos, without depth, without dynamic (or too: Yamaha), velocity and uneven harmonics, basses without depth ...

Samples long to load, does not support the proximity of other player (crackles with Groove Agent, not allowing player to play both simultaneously).

Surreal installation (10 hours) given the outcome (not so bad through headphones, but not acceptable for audio) ...

    :-(

I bought and tested five samples of piano ... And only one convinced me (you have to find ;-)

    - I use the program in stand alone for 3 weeks.

    - I have not tried other models, I relied on demos of East West as well as that of Purgatory Creek. My only real reference was The Grand 2 Steinberg no pianos East West fails to match despite their recent designs and debauchery of technical means used.

    - Nothing is really convincing except for the Steinway sound that seems a bit clearer than others. The Yamaha C7 is a true pan, Bosendorfer 290 sounds completely "confusion". A state also the total lack of recognition of Windows 7 at the time of installation. Must necessarily go through the updates available on the website of East West in order to install the product on this OS (and again ..…

    - In value for money, I feel completely rolled. East West had not accustomed to such poor quality products.

    - A remake? Never!
