I use kontakt 2 and that poor little problems ... A D Light piano and voice with some cut and paf ca completely disappears from the screen nasty bug ... At the price it cost me I dare say that it's m.. and I still I try to amiliorer but there's someone who did not do his homework ..

just making noise ... I am very disappointed not to update from Native ... leave ourselves completely .. he should know the problems with the piano versions disappointed??

OVERALL OPINION

I use kontakt since its release
except for the forum to help me I can not find much relief in French (tutorials)
I know of no other models. I mostly use patterns (Yamaha)
The value for money when it works there's no problem
but when this as bug?? we find that it's expensive ...
My head I would do the same hard choice because I still hope to find solutions to my problems and I can not believe that NI will abandon us like that ...

Excessive CPU consumption, we put the computer to its knees very quickly. And useless gadgets that allourdissent the app, I speak of course of the effects that are rotten, apart from the convolution processor (cpu consolidated m'enfin seen the stuff I see no real interest). The interface is too heavy and it deserves to be greatly altered or optimized.

OVERALL OPINION

I have been using the first version (that's 4 years).

Likes: its power, versatility and convenience above all!

I do not like: bugs, consolidated the cpu and the sound quality ... Let me explain: every time I pass my e-mu E4 (my default sampler) in Kontakt, I am green with rage so the difference in dynamics is overwhelming!! and even if the dynamics of soft improves over the updates (well I guess), it is really light years of the potato the good old Roland E-MU or s760. Same filters are BOFs. So very disappointing in sound. And these are not convertos Apogee will change anything to the problem. As for the grain bin y'en not. The sound "soft" so ...

I put in overall grade 7 because despite its flaws it is convenient to use compared to a sampler hard, and I appreciate the possibilities of treatment (time stretch, and other tools of destruction).

Easy installation. Activation relatively simple.

Kontakt works well and uses relatively little CPU resources.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for almost a year.
This is the first sampler I use and I am not disappointed.

Initially it's a little gas plant to navigate (GUI there helping too much at the beginning) but you get done quickly and the software superpower is revealed gradually.

Editing effects is quite simple, the mapping also. Ultimately it's not complicated to use, it's just what we want which is not obvious.

The sound is very interesting, an unfortunate sample simple can quickly become a scary monster after editing.
The advantage is also in the scripts that brings a lot of options and designs for those who want to create their scripts and bother to delve into the programming (which is not my case).

The sample set is provided thanks to the dense part of Vienna Symphonic Library, which sounds good but the rest is a little worse and may not for everyone.

Pros:

Cons:
- The graphical interface
- Forced to save the samples with other tools (eg Audacity)
- Managing the scripting language that is inedible if you do not plunge it 100%
- The sample set is missing a little something that would have made the high quality (but it's still respectable quality)

I have not tried but I would do Halion probably the choice for Kontakt 2 to a true potential and power pretty amazing (as always with NI).

The only difficulty (but not due to Kontakt) is how to use it in a particular composition and found what sampler (from this point of view, must be creative and find good ideas).
