News VSL (Vienna Symphonic Library) Vienna Instruments

The Vienna Symphonic Library team has updated their Vienna Instruments sample player.

The new application comes as a stripped-down version of its big brother Vienna Instruments PRO, featuring a new graphical user interface, new features as well as other improvements. The update is free for all Vienna Instruments users.

Like its big brother Vienna Instruments PRO, the new Vienna Instruments player features a graphical user interface with a Basic and Advanced View. Major improvements include a new sample streaming core with unlimited bounce polyphony, optimized voice sharing, announced reduced memory usage per instance as well as a velocity histogram, loading bar and voice display. Some of the new features include the slot mixer with four Patch slots (articulations) per Cell, Auto Cell Naming, individually assignable velocity crossfades to patches as well as a built-in algorithmic reverb.

The new Vienna Instruments player is compatible with all existing Vienna Instruments Collections and Single Instruments. Registered users may download the new version from their User Area, anytime and free of charge. Eight new video tutorials are available at the Vienna Symphonic Library website, explaining the new features in detail. The former Vienna Instruments “Classic” software is still available in the company’s archive but will not longer be updated. In addition, both Vienna Instruments PRO and Vienna Ensemble PRO have been recently updated. Registered users may download the new versions from the Vienna Symphonic Library website, free of charge.
