Low analog overdrive type.
We must refocus the usefulness of this pedal, the equivalent of the famous TS9 sister guitar, the goal is clearly to get that sound so characteristic of a tube amplifier whose gain is pushed to its limits. This it does very well.
It can not be that, and nothing else. And it is clear that it was made for it.

You want an overdrive that pulls the distortion: go your way.

UTILIZATION

Very simple settings.
Short manual and complete.
The sound editing is very easy; gain the pedal, a slight correction to keep the bass as the bass used, and add a little treble, it adjusts the volume based and voila.

SOUND QUALITY

Sound quality indisputable.
typical vintage overdrive with all the settings you need to get out (bass, middle, treble)
Rickenbacker 4003 and used with Gibson Thunderbird Studio 5

OVERALL OPINION

I wrote this opinion to fix some other on this site, respect for equipment worth more than incompetence and nullity of some.
For those who know the TS9 guitar, this pedal allows the same bass, neither more nor less.
This is EXACTLY the pedal you need if you want to get the bass sound slightly distorted that means thousands of production since the beginning of time, relatively speaking.
This pedal is one of the best bass overdrive market, if you try to use it for what it was made.
It adds a sleek vintage to your sound, as if you push the gain of your tube amp to get that warm sound characteristics.
It can only do this, but you can not blame him because it was made for that, and not something else.

It does not go into a Registry for low distortion, again. Its maximum, the light overdrive.

For comparison, it is the same in terms of quality that Xotic Bass BB Preamp, Xotic except that provides a more modern, and the TS9-Bass allows only register more warmer, vintage.

Bought this thing used off of ebay but it was pretty much so brand new and only paid 75 bucks for it! Retail is about 100 bucks brand new

This thing has the best blues and classic rock sound! You can even crank the drive and get a pretty good crunch sound, but if you really want crunchy sound your better off with the turbo version of the tube screamer. Great tone and simple 3 knob operation one pot for drive,tone and level. And it's built like a rock so you don't have to take it easy on this thing!
